Chapter 41 [41] Breaking the Rules, the Retribution Begins

Wizard Yi Si finally composed herself, her expression returning to its usual calm, though the excitement in her eyes remained undisguised.

"I must thank you both for your help. Without your ten years of information gathering, it wouldn't have been so easy to catch these guys by the skin of their teeth." Wizard Yi Si's face was also beaming with smiles.

The rather thin wizard Lando, dressed in a black wizard's robe, had lifeless eyes and always seemed listless. He said leisurely, "As fellow wizards of the extraordinary faction, the wizarding families of Ancient Forest Wizarding City have gone too far. Do they really think the adults of the Underdark are fools? Even without us, they would have faced their greatest blow sooner or later."

The Windwalker Wizard nodded in agreement, "Some wizarding families on the mainland have become powerful and difficult to control. But a wizarding family in a small port town engaging in these crooked practices is a target that must be cracked down on."

"However, all of this still rests on your shoulders, Wizard Is; we are merely your assistants."

A flash of memory crossed Wizard Is's eyes; it was when she was sent to the Ancient Forest Mountain to become a managing wizard.

His teacher, the Bone Wizard, had told him personally that an unprecedented upheaval was coming; problems had unknowingly arisen within the Underdark. These problems weren't limited to the lower levels; even the upper levels were experiencing issues.

The root of the problem lies with these wizard families.

Wizards from wizarding families who enter the Underdark may be fine if they don't occupy a high position, but once they do, the established rules will be artificially disrupted.

The rules were established from the very beginning of the Underdark. Undeniably, they serve as a means of maintaining balance, but they bring fairness and allow the Underdark to continuously evolve and improve.

Wizards from wizarding families are different; they tend to favor their own family and thus secretly disregard the rules, leading to a series of problems.

The current conflicts, along with the situation within the Underdark, are escalating, gradually forming two factions.

Wizard Is didn't know what the future held, but all he could do was seize the opportunity he had now and uphold the ancient rules of the Underdark.

Once upon a time, he too was a freshman in a mortal nation on the Wizarding Continent, having tested his wizarding aptitude. He endured hardship, diligently studied extraordinary knowledge, and devoted immense effort to entering the Dark Lands. Yet, he saw that the wizarding family freshmen who had been eliminated were now among those advancing. The commoner freshman at the bottom of the list, however, never reappeared.

At the time, he didn't understand what was wrong with the world. Why was it like this? Why did that newcomer who entered the Underdark through hard work eventually disappear?

Someone who wasn't qualified had that spot! He was furious. The rules were clearly stated, so why were they being violated? It was strange; the missing freshman had nothing to do with him, yet the anger in his heart was burning like fire.

Many years passed, and he experienced many things before finally understanding everything after joining the White Bone School.

But the seed of that fire didn't die out; instead, it grew even stronger. Damn it, why?!

A surge of ferocity flashed in Wizard Is's eyes, and his aura suddenly erupted, causing the entire office to tremble slightly. The two wizards before him paled, about to make a move, when that aura vanished without a trace, as if it were just an illusion.

"Excuse me, you two!" Wizard Is said expressionlessly.

The Windwalker Wizard, who came from the Deadwood School in the Underdark and was on good terms with the wizards of the Bone School, immediately spoke up, saying, "Senior Brother Yi Si, it would be best to calm down at this time."

Lando the Wizard stared wide-eyed in shock, his mind reeling. This was the power of a core member of the Bone School—truly astonishing. It was almost certain that Is was a Limitless Wizard apprentice, or at least on the verge of becoming one.

With the addition of the many advanced and extraordinary knowledge of the White Bone School, in terms of strength, they are definitely outrageously strong among the ultimate wizard apprentices.

He felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. The Water Marsh School he had joined was full of wizards who didn't care about anything. There were no resources to support them, and they had to learn and study the extraordinary knowledge on their own. "The rules cannot be broken, no matter who it is!" His tone was resolute.

Wizard Lando coughed and said, "Well, Senior Brother Is, then I'll be in charge of protecting the new students in Ancient Forest Mountain. You know me, I'm not very good at fighting."

Wizard Is stared at him expressionlessly.

The Windwalker Wizard also looked over with a strange expression.

Lando the Wizard immediately said viciously, "The Purple Gold Flower family and the Hundred Forest family should both be killed. Anyone even remotely related should be killed, whether they are wizards, mortals, or newcomers. Upholding the rules is our duty!"

"This is the target list I've compiled these past few days, Senior Brother Yi Si. Please take a look."

As he spoke, he took out a stack of papers from his sleeve.

There are quite a few new student spots marked in red, with Moxi Bellin, Kadi Purple Flower, Anna Karina, and other wizard new students related to recent events listed first.
