Huayu 2011: Starting with Hilarious Men

Wei Zheng, the director of "iPartment", is also good at generating buzz.

The day before filming began for Love Story 3, he posted a very "sexy" promotional photo on his personal Weibo account to generate buzz for the series.

Furthermore, the production team turned the launch press conference itself into a "prologue," defining it as "Episode 0," and invited viewers and fans to participate on-site.

Upon learning from Li Jinming that Zheng Nan was looking for someone to make a cameo appearance, Wei Zheng immediately came up with a great idea to generate buzz.

"Meijia, have Ziqiao tell Zheng Nan that a cameo role is fine, but since you're busy filming and can't leave, it would be best if he could come to our crew." Wei Zheng prefers to call actors by their character names on set.

"Okay, I'll go back and tell Brother Sun." Li Jinming wasn't as cunning as Wei Zheng.

After receiving the news, Sun Yizhou repeated it verbatim over the phone.

"Okay, I got it. I'll visit your film set in a couple of days." Zheng Nan, being a shrewd shrew, immediately realized what Wei Zheng was thinking.

Zheng Nan does not deny the plagiarism of the TV series "iPartment", but she also does not deny the influence of the show among young viewers.

The fan base of "Hilarious Men" and the fan base of "iPartment" overlap to some extent.

Therefore, having these actors from "iPartment" make guest appearances will not have a negative impact on "Hilarious Men".

……

Inside Sennan Entertainment Culture Co., Ltd., Ding Xiu was reading "The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind" by himself.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Zheng Nan push the door open and come in, asking, "On holiday?"

"Yes, school starts on September 5th."

"Being a student is good, you get fifty days off during summer vacation." As people reach middle age, they inevitably reminisce about the past, and Ding Xiu, this prodigal son, is no exception.

"My mom told me you weren't well-behaved when you were a student; you often skipped classes." Zheng Nan knew a lot about her uncle's dark past.

"Where are your classmates?" Ding Xiu immediately changed the subject.

"My classmates have all gone home. Their families are all well-off and don't care about making a few hundred or five hundred from me."

In the second season of "Hilarious Men", there weren't many important roles left for Lin Wenruo and his friends, and they had already filmed most of their scenes in the previous month.

"What's the next step?"

"Contact the two photographers ahead of me. I'm going to visit a film set tomorrow, and I'd also like to ask my senior from the Shanghai Theatre Academy to make a cameo appearance."

"Is it a legitimate film crew?" Ding Xiu had always been curious about the entertainment industry.

"Uncle, it's illegal for film crews to operate improperly within China! Except for Taiwan."

Even unconventional film crews struggle to survive in Taiwan; 26 years ago, a model agency went bankrupt.

"Do I mean a film crew when I say 'proper film crew'? What are you thinking about?" Ding Xiu looked at his nephew with disdain.

The web series "Hilarious Men" was filmed haphazardly and intermittently, and in Ding Xiu's eyes, it couldn't even be considered a production crew.

"I saw your ex-girlfriend at a flower shop in the CN district," Zheng Nan retorted decisively.

"How do you know she's my ex-girlfriend?" Ding Xiu wasn't intimidated by threats.

"I saw that she was wearing the purple peony ring you gave her. Uncle, you don't want me to give her your address, do you?"

Ding Xiu had a peculiar habit: he liked to give a purple peony ring to anyone he was in a relationship with.

These rings were custom-made by Ding Xiu, and almost everyone who sees them is one of his ex-girlfriends.

"Uncle, you're wrong. Your thinking is perfectly healthy!"

……

Before Zheng Nan and her team visited the set of "iPartment," she specifically called Sun Yizhou to let him know the time.

When Zheng Nan arrived, she indeed saw paparazzi and reporters on the perimeter.

I bet entertainment news will be out soon to report that he came to visit the set.

Wei Zheng even brought the main cast of "Love 3" to greet them.

Zheng Nan glanced around and saw familiar faces everywhere.

Lou Yixiao, Chen He, Deng Jiajia, Wang Chuanjun, Li Jinming, Sun Yizhou, Zhao Yuqi, Jin Shijia.

Goodness, seven out of the eight main actors are from the Shanghai Theatre Academy, except for Deng Jiajia.

Those who know it are from the "iPartment" TV series; those who don't might think it's a team-building event at the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

"Hello everyone, I'm also a fan of 'iPartment'. I heard that 'iPartment 3' has started filming, so I came to visit the set." Zheng Nan walked over and shook hands with each of them.

Finally shaking hands with Wei Zheng, Zheng Nan smiled and said, "Before coming here, I asked Brother Sun about the number of people in the crew. These are iced drinks for everyone."

"Director Zheng Nan, you're too kind. You came all this way and brought so much stuff. Let's take a picture together and post it on Weibo," Wei Zheng suggested.

Having reporters and paparazzi alone isn't enough; it would be much better to just post on Weibo.

Zheng Nan does manage her Sina Weibo account on an irregular basis.

Every now and then, he posts a glimpse into his daily life or some behind-the-scenes footage from "Hilarious Men." Zheng Nan now has 510,000 followers on Sina Weibo, which would be considered a big V at this point in 2011.

He had the most Sina Weibo followers among everyone present.

Zheng Nan posed for a group photo with Wei Zheng, who immediately posted it online with the caption:

[Director Zheng Nan of "Hilarious Men" visited the set; thank you for bringing iced drinks for the entire crew!]

After sending the message, Wei Zheng still stared longingly at Zheng Nan.

Zheng Nan, being very tactful, posted the photos on her Weibo account:

Director Wei Zheng was very welcoming to the senior students who came to visit the set of the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

Zheng Nan's Weibo activity level is much higher than Wei Zheng's.

Two minutes have passed since Wei Zheng posted the message, and there have been no comments.

Zheng Nan posted it and immediately received comments from fans.

Is this the cast and crew of "iPartment"?

Wow, both of these are shows I really love!

Is Zeng Xiaoxian going to appear on "Hilarious Men"?

【Wanyu! I want Wanyu!】

Wei Zheng secretly opened Zheng Nan's Weibo and saw how active her fans were, especially the large number of female fans! Looking at his own motionless zombie fans, Wei Zheng wanted to cry.

They are both directors with successful experiences. He is even a director who has had his work broadcast on satellite TV. Why does he have fewer Weibo followers than Zheng Nan?

With these questions in mind, Wei Zheng looked at Zheng Nan's face, then looked at his own face through the glass.

This damn world that judges people by their looks!

Zheng Nan, who was standing to the side, had no idea that Wei Zheng's inner world was so complicated.

He was discussing a cameo role in "Hilarious Men" with Sun Yizhou and others.

Among the cast of "iPartment" from the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Sun Yizhou is the oldest, born in 83 and a graduate of the 02 class of the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

Lou Yixiao plays the most manly character, Hu Yifei, in the drama. In reality, he is the youngest among this group, born in 88 and a graduate of the class of 06, even younger than Jin Shijia.

The rest, led by Chen He, were all from the 04 class of the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

Speaking of which, Sun Yizhou's character Lu Ziqiao is quite similar to his uncle; both are playboys.

"Director Wei has given us a day to coordinate. How do you need us to act?" Chen He asked.

"Yes, we all cooperated with Director Zheng Nan today, including me." Wei Zheng leaned closer and asked, "Director Zheng Nan, would you be interested in making a cameo appearance in 'iPartment'?"
