Douluo Continent: What should I do if I don't have a cheat system?

Chapter 152 Side Effects of Special Bloodlines

Because of the Titan blood incident, Jerry must consider many factors when refining elixirs to enhance bloodlines in the future.

However, this experience has taught us that we should be more careful when choosing pills made from special bloodlines.

Some docile spirit beasts also have docile bloodlines, making pills refined from their blood easier to absorb. However, blood containing Titan bloodlines is inherently domineering, so there are many requirements for those who consume it.

After all, there are only a few types of pills that can actually be refined to enhance bloodline at present. Among them, the Nine-Tailed Fox and the Emerald Swan are relatively docile. More pills need to be refined in the future to improve this category of pills that can enhance bloodline.

Jerry is now developing pills not only for soul beasts, but more importantly, to enhance the bloodline of soul masters, thereby improving their martial souls and enabling them to evolve.

Having gained experience with the three types of bloodline-enhancing pills, Jerry felt it was time to try making some pills to enhance Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing's martial spirit.

Xiao Wu's martial soul is the Soft Bone Charming Rabbit. This kind of soul beast is very common in Star Dou Great Forest and other places, but very few have high bloodlines and can cultivate to a higher level.

Rabbit-type soul beasts can also be found in the Elder Hall's records, such as: Remnant Maple Poison Cleansing Rabbit, Nine-Star Orange Fighting Rabbit, Roaring Tin Rain Rabbit, Hundred Embroidered Fierce Still Rabbit, Void Vermilion Feeling Rabbit, Mysterious Cloth Orange Taming Rabbit, Peerless Red Drinking Rabbit, Dragon Palace Stone Devouring Rabbit, and so on.

The soul beasts that are included in the records of the Elder Hall are all very powerful soul beasts.

However, these materials span a long period of time, and many geographical locations have changed, making them difficult to find. Moreover, it is common for many spirit beasts to be wiped out by other spirit beasts during their natural growth.

Jerry checked the information on the Nine-Star Orange Fighting Rabbit and felt that it had many similarities with the Soft-Boned Charming Rabbit. If his reasoning was correct, the Soft-Boned Charming Rabbit should be the product of the Nine-Star Orange Fighting Rabbit's bloodline degeneration.

According to the Elders' Hall records, the Nine-Star Orange Fighting Rabbit possesses pupils containing the nine stars; those who gaze into its eyes will be bewitched and fall into a state of intoxication. It has an adorable appearance, resembling an orange cat when still, and moving like lightning when in motion. It enjoys fighting, and when enraged, it can stand upright, possessing exceptional legwork.

Let's take a look at Xiao Wu's Soft Bone Charming Rabbit. It releases charm skills through its eyes, has an adorable appearance, is very docile when quiet, moves very fast, and can even teleport. It also loves to fight and has eight-stage leg techniques for throwing.

The more Jerry looked at them, the more he felt they were too similar, and the more he felt that the Soft Bone Charming Rabbit was a degenerated version of the Nine-Star Orange Fighting Rabbit.

If the inference is true, the Soft Bone Rabbit has a very high potential. Jerry remembers the Fairy Queen saying that the more powerful a soul beast was in the past, the more it was suppressed, and many of them have now become delicacies on human tables.

A delicate and charming rabbit, a delicacy on the dining table—it really is!

After Jerry found Xiao Wu and told her what had happened, Xiao Wu was very surprised.

"Xiao Wu, come here, let me draw some blood!" Jerry said.

"What? Brother, you're going to draw my blood! You're so mean!" Xiao Wu said.

"What nonsense are you talking about? I'm going to draw some of your blood to make a pill to enhance your bloodline. I'll see if I can further improve your bloodline then."

"Oh, I see. You should have said so earlier! Then draw less blood, okay? I heard you often draw Hu Liena's blood, and each time you draw a whole tube."

"It's just a tiny bit, just an experiment. Xiaowu, don't be so nervous. Seriously, drawing a little blood won't do anything to your body."

"Alright then! But brother, you've been away all this time and haven't cared about us at all. You don't even care about us anymore." Xiao Wu said, staring at Jerry with a worried look on her face.

"Haha, Xiao Wu has been quite busy lately, hasn't she? There are a lot of things that I have to do myself. There's no way around it. It's too hard to find someone to share the burden these days. You know, when I get busy, I forget everything."

"Moreover, the ultimate goal of my experimental research is the evolution of martial souls. Among us, apart from Qian Renxue's martial soul being a god-level martial soul, the others can only be considered high-level martial souls at most. So I want to try to evolve everyone's martial souls into god-level martial souls. Even if they can't evolve into god-level martial souls, they should at least evolve into top-level martial souls."

"Brother, you always have so many excuses. You used to take me with you wherever you went, but now you don't. You even want me to learn how to make soul tools. It's so boring!"

"Xiao Wu, I'm sorry, I'll be more careful in the future. I should be almost done with my work in the next few days, then I'll take you guys to have some fun!" Jerry said apologetically.

"Alright then! I'll believe you this time. Brother, I really don't want to learn about soul tools anymore, it's too boring! You should talk to Master about it!" Xiao Wu said coquettishly, pulling on Jerry's arm.

"Xiao Wu, many people want to learn but lack the talent. You have the talent but don't want to learn. But that's okay. If you don't want to learn, we won't. I'm here. Do you still need to learn? I'll go back and talk to Master."

"Thank you, brother! I knew you were the best! You go ahead and get busy, I'm going to cultivate!" With that, Xiao Wu left without looking back.

Jerry suddenly felt like he'd been tricked. Xiao Wu just didn't want to learn how to make soul tools anymore because she was being watched by her master every day. So she made up an excuse to get Jerry to plead with their master so she wouldn't have to learn anymore.

Xiao Wu, you're not innocent anymore. You're not the Xiao Wu I used to know. Sigh, where did you learn all this from? You've got so many tricks up your sleeve. But since I promised Xiao Wu, I'll go and talk to my master about it.

After Jerry told his master, his master agreed. The main reason was that Xiao Wu was too impulsive, and making soul tools was a very tedious process, which did not suit Xiao Wu's personality.

Then Jerry took Xiao Wu's blood and started refining pills. Of course, these weren't the best pills, but rather pills that had been diluted many times over.

If Xiao Wu really has the bloodline of the Nine-Star Orange Fighting Rabbit, then it must be a very special bloodline. The side effects are still uncertain, so let's refine a diluted pill first. Even if there are side effects, they won't be very strong.

Jerry also discovered that the younger the soul beast, the better the effect of absorbing pills that enhance its bloodline. As the soul beast grows up, its bloodline seems to become fixed, making it very difficult to enhance.

The Soft-Boned Rabbit is not hard to find; there are already artificially bred ones in Wuhun City.

The population of Wuhun City is now too large, so the consumption of food is also enormous. With the continuous expansion of Wuhun City, a lot of farmland has been requisitioned.

Now that houses have been built, food is in short supply. Jerry arranged for the Spirit Hall to set up a breeding farm, where they raise spirit beasts that reproduce quickly and in large numbers. This solved the food shortage problem in Spirit City.

Xiao Wu initially disagreed, but the farm had been operating for some time, so they took her to see it. The hundreds of thousands of rabbits there shocked her.

Although it hadn't been ten years, the quantity was huge, so Xiao Wu didn't have any objections.

One hundred baby rabbits were found in the breeding farm, and they were fed rabbit blood pills made from Xiao Wu's blood. The rabbits absorbed the pills very quickly. After that, they were fed soul power pills. After a week, no side effects were found.

Then Jerry started increasing the concentration, and slowly some of the rabbits began to experience side effects. First, their eyes turned blood red, and then they started fighting with each other.

But the fight didn't last long; the bloodshot in its eyes faded, and the little rabbit calmed down.

It seems that Xiao Wu's blood really does have side effects, such as her eyes turning red, which she then vents through fighting.

Next comes human trials, which is giving Jerry a bit of a headache right now.

Previously, only Da Bai and Hu Liena had consumed pills made from the blood of the Nine-Tailed Fox. Hu Liena absorbed the pills easily because they were her own bloodline, but Da Bai had never experienced any side effects. This was probably because the Nine-Tailed Fox bloodline had many attributes and was more tolerant.

The fox blood pills given to ordinary soul masters are made from the blood of three-tailed foxes with weak bloodlines, and no side effects have ever occurred.

However, Xiao Wu's blood is different; it's stronger, and the gene for fighting is ingrained in her bloodline. That's why these rabbits experienced side effects after taking it. But whether the human body can withstand these side effects is unknown.
