Gunpowder Plate Armor and the Magic Revolution
Chapter 48 You have at least two things to say
As soon as Norz and his men rushed onto the deck, they saw Bilkin crushing the body of the one-eyed red wolf with his military boots, holding his blood-stained command sword high in his hand, and laughing loudly at the officers who had gathered around him.
Red Wolf's head had long been severed by him and was now hanging from the mainmast's rope, swaying precariously. There were no survivors on the deck, and the surrendered pirates had all been killed by Bilkin, their bodies thrown into the sea to feed the fish.
Nozer strode through the cheering crowd, discreetly shielding Colin behind him, and stood in front of Bilkin, raising his hand in a standard military salute, his boots clicking crisply on the deck.
"Admiral Bill King, this is Captain Colin, whom we found in the cabin. He said he was chained in the cabin by Red Wolf for more than half a month. Thanks to him for leading the way, we were able to successfully wipe out the remaining pirates in the cabin."
Colin hurriedly followed suit, his hands awkwardly pressed against the sides of his tattered clothes, and bowed deeply to Bilkin. "Thank you, Major General, thank you all officers and soldiers for saving my life. Otherwise, I would have been dead sooner or later..."
"Stop, stop, stop! I'm sick of hearing that. Judging from your accent... you're from Orentia?"
Bilkin raised an eyebrow, glancing down at him condescendingly. Seeing that he was a victim and an Orentia, he slightly toned down his menacing aura. "You've been imprisoned by Red Wolf for so long, so let me ask you, how much do you know about the other pirate ship that's with Red Wolf's gang?"
Upon hearing the mention of the other ship, Colin seemed to instantly perk up, straightening his back abruptly as he quickly replied.
"Reporting to the Major General! That ship is called the Fang. The captain is now Red Wolf's younger brother, Black Fang. He is hot-tempered but ruthless. There are eight saxophones on board, and each side can fire four cannons simultaneously. The ship has a full crew of seventy-five people, more than a dozen of whom are outlaws who have followed Red Wolf for many years."
He spoke more and more fluently, even subconsciously taking half a step forward and gesturing with his hand to show the arrangement of the famous cannons, speaking at an astonishing speed.
Colin knew everything about the Fang, from its firepower and top speed to Black Fang's style of operation and his usual flanking tactics, and even the names of the key pirates on board.
It was as if this pirate ship and this pirate gang were his own business, built up from scratch.
Lucas, listening intently, nodded repeatedly. He leaned closer to Nozer and lowered his voice, full of surprise, "This guy was imprisoned for half a month, yet he knows these pirates so well. He's a ruthless character who can endure anything. I bet he was eavesdropping on the deck every day, wasn't he?"
Norze frowned.
Something's not right; the more I listen, the more something seems off.
Even if Colin eavesdropped on the wooden planks of the hidden compartment every day, it would be impossible for him to know everything about the pirates' battle plans, personnel configuration, and even the secret details of the cannon modifications.
These are the core secrets of the pirate gang, things that a chained prisoner could never access.
Just as he was about to ask further questions, another thought suddenly popped into his mind.
If this person really has a special identity, why would they make their flaws so obvious?
To attract attention? Is being noticed all he needs to gain?
But...why?
Although Noze couldn't figure it out right now, he knew there must be something wrong with this.
Just as he was hesitating, a figure stepped off the Goldship.
Monet still had his hands loosely in his uniform pockets, and his steps were as light as a cat walking on the crest of a wave. With so many people on the deck, not a single person noticed when he had stepped over from the Goldfinch.
He didn't look at anyone, his gaze fixed on the still-talking "Colin," and walked step by step behind him without the other man noticing.
The next second, Monet suddenly raised his foot and, without warning, kicked him hard in the back!
With a muffled thud, Colin was thrown forward like a tattered sack with its bones removed, crashing heavily onto the deck. His forehead slammed against the hard wooden planks, instantly creating a bloody gash, and crimson blood trickled down his forehead.
He was already weak, and this fall felt like his internal organs had shifted. He lay on the ground coughing violently and couldn't get up for a long time.
The change came so suddenly that the deck fell silent instantly, and everyone stood there stunned.
Bilkin looked at Monet with a bewildered expression. "Monet?"
"Sir! What...what are you doing?"
The man on the ground managed to prop himself up on his arms and lift his head, his eyes filled with panic and confusion. "Where did I go wrong? I led you the way, helped you fight the pirates, I..."
Monet slowly walked forward, raised his military boot foot, and precisely stepped on the back of his neck. With just a little force, he pressed him back onto the deck, rendering him unable to move.
The dice were spinning slowly between his fingers, his icy gray eyes lowered, casually sweeping over the disheveled "Captain Colin" on the ground.
"Stop pretending, Jeffrey Kane. I've seen your portrait. You're one of the top twenty most wanted pirate captains on the Federal Maritime Administration's list, the infamous 'Sea Wolf' of this region... I don't think I need to recount your glorious achievements, do I? How did you end up in such a sorry state?"
Colin… no, now it should be Jeffrey, froze instantly when he heard that his true identity had been recognized.
Seeing that he didn't reply, Monet chuckled and pressed down slightly on his feet, listening to the painful groan that came out of his throat.
The previous sense of relief and respectful timidity vanished completely, leaving only the panic of having his identity exposed.
The surrounding officers instantly erupted in chaos, grabbing their muskets and scimitars. The dark muzzles of the guns and the gleaming tips of the knives were all aimed at Jeffrey on the ground, and angry shouts instantly ripped the deck apart.
"Damn it! He's a pirate captain! He dared to trick me! And we actually believed his lies! I should have just chopped him down and fed him to the fish!"
Lucas was so angry that his face turned red. He drew his scimitar and was about to rush forward, but Nozer stopped him with a gesture.
Nozer looked at Jeffrey on the ground, his brow furrowed. His intuition told him that this man was definitely hiding a deeper secret.
Bilkin's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot. He stepped forward and kicked Jeffrey hard in the ribs with brute force, letting out a piercing scream. His angry curses rang out like thunder.
"You son of a bitch! I hate pirates like you more than anything in my life! You dare to put on an act in front of me! You're tired of living!"
As he spoke, he suddenly raised the sword in his hand, ready to slash it down hard on Jeffrey's neck.
"Wait, it's not impossible for you to live."
Monet reached out and stopped Bilkin's knife, squinting at Jeffrey lying on the ground. "You have at least two things to tell me clearly now. If you can satisfy me, I might consider sparing your life."
