When it comes to cultivating immortality, it naturally starts with upgrading the herb garden.

Once the two returned to the ground, Fatty Dong breathed a sigh of relief. He was about to speak when he discovered that Song Chen had already vanished.

Without stopping for a moment, Song Chen had already returned home before Fatty Dong could even react.

Every minute and second was precious to him, and he had to seize the time to improve his cultivation level.

He brought up the control panel and glanced at it.

【Route Six】

[Alchemy Room lv1]

[Level 2: Increases the success rate of Grade 3 pills by 20%, and increases the success rate of the first batch of Grade 3 pills each day by 10%.]

[Upgrade Requirements: 100 low-grade spirit stones, 5 Kidney King plants, 15 portions of Frost Sand, 1 Wind Profound Grass, 10 Meridian Opening Grass, and successfully refine one Spirit Gathering Pill]

This is the upgrade path that Song Chen has chosen again.

He now possesses the alchemical skills of Feng Sancai, making his original [Route Three] and [Route Four] completely inadequate.

The ability to achieve first-class or second-class status, which seemed like a great achievement in the past, is just so-so now.

What Song Chen needs right now is to increase the success rate of producing grade three pills.

Song Chen pondered, "Feng Sancai has refined the Blood Soul Pill, so theoretically he has advanced to the third-grade alchemist level."

"Moreover, the Blood Soul Pill is more difficult to refine than the Spirit Gathering Pill. If you can refine the Blood Soul Pill, there's no reason why you can't refine the Spirit Gathering Pill."

Thinking of this, Song Chen felt the pressure decrease and became more relaxed.

He took out the alchemy furnace from his hometown and placed it in the guest room, using the room as his alchemy room.

Unfortunately, the houses in Nanxiang are just cramped; there are only these two rooms.

[Alchemy Room lv1]

After doing all this, an illusory label immediately appeared before Song Chen's eyes.

He glanced at them and took out the four sets of medicinal materials for refining the Spirit Gathering Pill.

Star Moon Liquid, Meridian-Clearing Grass, Earth Spirit Grass, Heaven Spirit Grass.

Song Chen washed the medicinal herbs one by one, his technique exactly the same as Feng Sancai's, as skillful as if it were from a textbook.

Then, the auxiliary materials and star moon liquid are poured into the alchemy furnace in advance, and an appropriate amount of water is added to form the basic alchemy base.

ignition.

A small flame rose from the bottom of the alchemy furnace, where firewood had been placed beforehand.

Song Chen did not leave. His eyes were cold as he stared at the scene inside the alchemy furnace until bubbles appeared and the liquid reflected a hint of moonlight. Only then did he add the Meridian Opening Grass into it.

The alchemy furnace was temporarily out of the woods, but Song Chen got busy.

He took out two mid-grade spirit stones, released their spiritual energy, controlled it within a moderate range, and then placed the spiritual herbs of heaven and earth within them.

After a moment of preparation, take it out immediately.

At this moment, the alchemy furnace was perfectly stable, the meridian-opening grass and the elixir base were completely mixed and indistinguishable, and the fire at the bottom was just right, making it the perfect time to add the spiritual herbs of heaven and earth.

Without saying a word, Song Chen put the two herbs into the fire and then increased the heat.

There's a trick to adding heat; it can't be too strong or too weak.

If the herbs are too large, they will destroy the medicinal power; if they are too small, the herbs will not be able to integrate into the elixir, and no elixir can be made.

With the help of Feng Sancai's expertise in alchemy, Song Chen easily controlled the timing of the fire.

Next comes a test of perseverance. He needs to maintain the status quo for half an hour to ensure that the elixir base transforms into a liquid that can form a pill.

Refining elixirs is a complex task, where every step is crucial and every ingredient is indispensable.

Song Chen maintained the stability of the alchemy furnace, his whole body drenched in sweat. He was short of spiritual energy, and he kept his attention on the mid-grade spirit stones in his hand to replenish his spiritual energy.

This greatly increases the difficulty of refining, but who is Song Chen? How could he be defeated by such a setback?

Half an hour later.

Song Chen enveloped his palm with spiritual energy, probed into the elixir, and began the final step of alchemy—blending the pills.

At this point, the steps for refining the elixir are almost complete. As long as you follow the steps, you can at least refine a single pill.

Even if there are major flaws in the refining process, resulting in a large number of inferior pills, Song Chen can use the Pill Refining Technique to exchange them for finished pills.

Song Chen had seen Feng Sancai's original version of the Pill-Making Technique and was greatly impressed.

In alchemy, Feng Sancai held almost no secrets, so Song Chen had never had any problems using the alchemy technique.

The part that is retained is the section on substitution in the alchemy technique.

This part is extremely difficult, yet incredibly fantastical; it is a spell that can truly create a super elixir.

Song Chen made preparations, and then he would try this part of the pill-setting technique.

At this point, he had finished shaping the pill, let it sit for a while, and gradually reduced the heat until the pill was almost finished before extinguishing the flame completely.

The refining process is complete.

Three pills produce a complete pill, four pills produce an inferior pill, and five pills produce a useless pill.

The success rate of the pill is terrifyingly low, but once you consider that it is a third-grade pill, it doesn't seem so low.

Even with only a 30% success rate in producing pills, this batch still yields a profit of over a hundred spirit stones.

Song Chen brought up the control panel.

【Route Six】

[Alchemy Room lv1]

[Level 2: Increases the success rate of Grade 3 pills by 20%, and further increases the success rate of the first batch of Grade 3 pills each day by 10%.]

[Upgrade Requirements: 100 low-grade spirit stones, 5 Kidney King herbs, 15 portions of Frost Sand, 1 Wind Profound Grass, 10 Meridian Opening Grass, and successfully refine one Spirit Gathering Pill (Completed)]

The mind follows the thought.

upgrade!

[Alchemy Room lv2]

In this way, even if Song Chen maintains his current level and refines another batch of Spirit Gathering Pills, the success rate will be at least 50%.

Song Chen's lips curled up slightly; this was a huge improvement!

However, Song Chen doesn't really need to earn spirit stones by selling pills right now. He has hundreds of thousands of spirit stones in his storage bag, which is enough for him to cultivate for a while.

However, this does not mean that Song Chen does not need to continue to improve his alchemy skills. On the contrary, he still needs to practice alchemy every day in an attempt to break through to the legendary fourth-grade alchemist.

Do fourth-grade alchemists at the Qi Refining stage really exist?

Song Chen wondered inexplicably.

After all, even Feng Sancai was only a third-grade alchemist, and he only achieved that before he died.

This also illustrates just how terrifying a fourth-grade alchemist is.

Before Song Chen could think further, the functions and upgrade requirements of the [Alchemy Room lv3] were already displayed before him.

[Alchemy Room lv2]

【Route 1】

[Level 3: Function: Increases the success rate of Grade 3 pills by 30%, Grade 4 pills by 10%, and automatically unlocks the 'Enlightenment Pill' recipe]

[Upgrade Requirements: Foundation Establishment, refine one Grade 4 Upper Yuan Pill.]

【Route Two】

[Level 3: Function: Increases the success rate of Grade 3 pills by 20%, Grade 4 pills by 20%, and automatically unlocks the 'Enlightenment Pill' recipe]

[Upgrade Requirements: Foundation Establishment, refine one Grade 4 Dao Platform Pill.]

【Route 3】

[Level 3: Function: Increases the success rate of Grade 4 pills by 30%, automatically unlocks the 'Enlightenment Pill' recipe]

[Upgrade Requirements: Foundation Establishment, refine one Grade 4 Transformation Pill.]

......

Song Chen glanced at it and felt that it was extremely difficult and required a tremendous improvement.

Putting everything else aside, that "Enlightenment Pill" sounds amazing; it might even have some wonderful effect of temporarily improving one's comprehension.

This heaven-defying pill was something Song Chen had never heard of even after searching through all of Feng Sancai's memories, suggesting it must involve the secrets of the Foundation Establishment realm.

"In any case, there are already two building upgrade requirements, which are mandatory requirements such as foundation building."

"To upgrade, you still need to establish a foundation first!"

Song Chen turned his attention to the other two buildings, perhaps he could upgrade their levels first.

For example, the ribs of a Qi Refining Peak cultivator from the [Fertilizer Room] will be available next week, won't they?

Song Chen gathered his thoughts, took out the wooden tub, took off his clothes, and prepared to begin his blood bath cultivation again.

"Thump, thump, thump,...."

The courtyard gate was knocked on, making a creaking sound.

The courtyard gate that was blown open yesterday was hastily repaired by Song Chen, but his workmanship is rough, so he couldn't completely restore it to its original state, hence this situation.

"Hello! Are you home?"

A boy's shouts could be heard outside the door.

Song Chen didn't open the door. He put on his clothes, pricked up his ears through the door, and asked, "Who is it?"

"I'm a resident of No. 16 South Alley. I've brought you some local specialties. Come and get them!"
