Martial Arts Sainthood Begins with the Tiger-Taming Fist
Chapter 91 The Yun Family's Sword
The next morning.
Chen Mo set off for Chuzhou Prefecture. He did not invite Xu Yan that day, because he only found out after going to the dining hall that she was lazing in bed.
Having already traveled to Chuzhou before, Chen Mo was quite familiar with the route. He rented horses in Bagong Town and then galloped all the way to Chuzhou Prefecture.
After dismounting, we passed through the bustling street scene and arrived at the relatively quiet Sword Forging Pavilion.
Just across the street, one side is bustling with market activity, while the other side resounds with the clanging of metal—it's like two different worlds.
Chen Mo carried three gleaming, forged swords on his back and walked to the forging room where Master Li was.
"Master Li."
He called out from afar.
Master Li took a break from his sword-making work, looked up, and saw Chen Mo. He noticed the sword on Chen Mo's back and said:
"It's you, Chen..."
He paused, recalling Chen Mo's name, "Young Brother Chen Mo, you forged three precious swords so quickly?"
Chen Mo hummed in agreement and prepared to put down the three swords.
Master Li, however, said:
"No need to leave it with me, just give it to Elder Tang at Yangjiantang."
Chen Mo responded with a "yes," and then followed Master Li's instructions to the entrance of the Sword Nurturing Hall. Just as he was about to step inside, he heard cursing coming from inside.
"These new swordsmiths these days, their sword-making skills are all terrible!"
"The Yun family's order, three swordsmiths spent two months on it, and the final product looks like this!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a clanging sound of an iron sword being thrown to the ground rang out.
Chen Mo stopped at the door and looked into the house.
They saw a silver-haired man pointing his finger at a young swordsmith and cursing him furiously.
The other person was so frightened that he dared not breathe, his whole body trembling slightly, and he bent down to pick up the iron sword from the ground.
The third person in the room was a middle-aged man dressed in a blue robe. He sighed softly and said to the old man:
"Elder Tang, how about we find another master craftsman with more experience?"
Elder Tang suppressed his anger slightly, then a troubled look appeared on his face. "Most of the master craftsmen are simply too busy lately. Based on the principle of first come, first served, we can only forge swords for you in order."
Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man sighed again.
Tang Sanzang casually waved his hand at the young swordsmith, who then bowed his head and left, clutching his sword.
As she passed by the entrance, she saw Chen Mo standing there, also holding a sword. Fearing that her embarrassing moment would make her lose face in front of her peers, she suddenly straightened her back and pretended that nothing had happened.
The two passed each other.
The other person glanced at me briefly, as if to say, "It'll be your turn soon."
Chen Mo didn't care at all.
He thought to himself, "It seems that the swords forged each month need to be inspected by Elder Tang, and this man must be quite strict about the quality of the swords."
Thinking of this, he paused, held the three swords in his hands, and then slowly walked into the room.
When Elder Tang saw Chen Mo, he glanced at him and said sternly:
"Another new swordsmith?"
Chen Mo bowed and said, "This junior is Chen Mo, and I just joined the Sword Forging Pavilion this month."
Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man in a blue robe shook his head and sighed slightly.
Elder Tang waved his hand to the side, indicating that Chen Mo should place the sword on the wooden table.
Chen Mo did as instructed.
Then, Elder Tang glanced at the wooden table, about to utter a curse, but suddenly frowned, suppressed his anger, and reached out to pick up one of the swords.
With the sword in hand, he pressed his fingertips against the hilt and slowly wiped it downwards.
Before long, he wiped the end of the sword.
His brows furrowed even deeper.
The room fell silent for a few moments.
The man in the blue robe standing to the side realized something was wrong when he saw Elder Tang's appearance.
Then, Elder Tang held the sword up to his eyes and examined its patterns closely. After a moment, he gently put the sword down.
The man in the blue robe hurriedly asked, "Elder Tang, how is it?"
The other party nodded slightly and looked at Chen Mo, "How rare! I've finally met a reliable young man."
As he spoke, his anger vanished completely, and he even began to smile broadly.
Upon hearing this, the man in the blue robe immediately picked up the sword and examined it closely. Although he did not have the discerning eye of Elder Tang, he could still discern the basic qualities of a sword.
He looked at it and nodded repeatedly.
"It's definitely much better than the previous sword."
He said, "Brother Chen Mo, may I ask which family you come from? It seems there are very few families with the surname Chen in Chuzhou Prefecture."
He then added, "I didn't mean to pry; I just wanted to get to know Brother Chen Mo."
Chen Mo replied truthfully, "I come from Anyang County. My family is poor and not a large one."
"That would be even more remarkable."
The man in the blue robe looked at Elder Tang, "Elder Tang, I have a request. Would it be possible to have Brother Chen Mo forge a precious sword for my Yun family?"
Elder Tang replied, "Of course. Chen Mo came to the Sword Forging Pavilion at the beginning of this month; he shouldn't have taken on any other sword forging tasks, right?"
Chen Mo shook his head.
Elder Tang then said, "Then you will try out the sword that the Yun family needs. Yun Heng will give you the blueprints, and you can forge the sword according to the blueprints."
Chen Mo nodded in agreement.
Elder Tang then reminded him, "Chen Mo, the sword the Yun family needs is not so simple; it has many complex details, so don't underestimate it."
"Alright, I've got it."
As he spoke, Yun Heng took out a blueprint and handed it over, saying, "Brother Chen Mo, if you can really cast it well, the Yun family will give you a small gift in return."
Chen Mo took the blueprints and said calmly, "This junior dares not make any boasts. Let's take it one step at a time."
Upon hearing this, Yun Heng's face showed approval.
After everything was settled, Chen Mo left the Sword Nurturing Hall with Yun Heng and retrieved the three sets of materials for forging the sword. Only one sword was needed for the final product.
Originally, three swords needed to be forged each month, but thanks to Elder Tang's exemption, only this sword needs to be forged this month.
"Brother Chen Mo, then I'll leave it to you."
Yun Heng clasped his hands in a fist salute, about to turn and leave, when a woman in white walked over from the side.
Chen Mochu was slightly taken aback when he first saw the woman; she possessed an ethereal and otherworldly beauty.
Even the beautiful Yin Shanshan and Wu Zhiai back then, and even Yang Caiwei and Jiang Xiaoyun whom she met later, did not have such beauty.
The woman parted her thin lips slightly and said:
"Brother, how's it going with the sword?"
Yun Heng laughed and said, "I'm lucky this time to have met Brother Chen Mo. His sword-making skills have been praised by Elder Tang. Now, let's just wait for Brother Chen Mo's good news."
Upon hearing this, the woman looked at Chen Mo and gave a slight bow, saying, "Thank you for your trouble, Young Master Chen."
amount……
This was the first time Chen Mo had been addressed like this.
This burly man, dressed in a simple gray short-sleeved shirt, was stunned for a few moments when addressed in this way.
"You're welcome," he then said calmly.
Then, the woman left the Sword Forging Pavilion with Yun Heng.
Chen Mo turned around and murmured, "Xu Yan said last time that swordsmiths can buy ore here, I might as well go and take a look."
