Battle Through the Heavens: Achievement System at the Start

In the early morning, warm sunlight streamed in through the cracks in the window, casting dappled patterns of light that adorned the tidy room.

Inside the room, a young boy sat in a wooden tub, his eyes closed, his hands forming a mudra as he absorbed the medicinal properties of the liquid.

Xiao Yao arrived at Xiao Yan's house and gently knocked on Xiao Yan's door, saying softly, "Xiao Yan, it's me."

At this moment, Xiao Yan stood up from the wooden basin, dried himself off, and casually put on a clean set of clothes. He looked back and saw the light blue liquid, and sighed inwardly that the Foundation Establishment Elixir was being consumed too quickly. As his cultivation speed increased, he might not need it anymore in another month or two.

After opening the door, Xiao Yan asked softly, "Brother Yao, is there something you need?"

"Nothing much, I mainly came to see the teacher."

"Little fellow, what brings you here to see your master?" At this moment, a figure flew out from the storage ring, hovering above and staring at Xiao Yao below as he slowly spoke.

Xiao Yao said softly, "Teacher, which grade six pill do you plan to refine during your training? We can prepare a few sets of materials in advance."

The old doctor conjured an ancient scroll in his right hand and handed it to Xiao Yao, saying calmly, "This scroll contains a sixth-grade pill formula called the Imperial Extreme Pill. Its function is to enable a Dou Huang-level expert who takes it to rise one or two stars in level. A Dou Huang can only take one Imperial Extreme Pill in their lifetime!"

"Teacher, should we go to the auction house together later to entrust them to buy these medicinal herbs? I can sell my fifth-grade pills so they can buy them from the Jia Ma Empire. After all, it will take some time to gather these medicinal herbs." After a slight pause, he added, "Xiao Yanzi, you also need to auction off the pills you've refined. We can auction them off directly there."

"Brother Yao, that's fine, but wouldn't it be too conspicuous for just the two of us to go? After all, when I went last time, I was wearing a black robe, and the middle-aged man who was hosting me occasionally glanced at me, as if he was trying to see through my identity," Xiao Yan said with some concern.

After hearing this, Xiao Yao pondered for a moment before slowly saying, "Actually, I sold my own pills at an auction many years ago. I'll wear a black robe to cover my face to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. You can just stand next to me then, pretending to be my fellow disciple."

Upon hearing this, the old apothecary nodded slightly and said, "That's a good idea. You two are fellow disciples, so there's nothing wrong with doing it this way. But will I be the one to do all the talking, or will you, young man, do it?"

Seeing their puzzled expressions, Xiao Yao took out a disguise mask from his storage ring, slowly put it on, and his face emitted a faint light.

When the light faded, a strange and handsome face replaced his original delicate features, as if he had become a completely different person.

"What... what kind of mask is this? It's amazing!" Xiao Yanzi's eyes widened as he approached Xiao Yao with surprise and curiosity. He touched Xiao Yao's face with his right hand and then said in amazement, "Brother Yao, this mask of yours is incredible. It fits my face perfectly. After touching it, there wasn't a single mark. It's like I've truly become another person."

Xiao Yao spoke in a deep, resonant voice, "This is a disguise mask. It can change your appearance and even your voice. As for speaking, just leave it to me and Elder Yao to do. That way, we won't arouse suspicion."

"Hiss, even the voice has changed. That's amazing! Brother Yao, do you have any similar masks? Can you give me one?" Xiao Yan's eyes showed envy.

Upon hearing this, the old doctor's eyes flashed with admiration: "Haha, little fellow, you have quite a few treasures. This mask is not commonly seen. As for its origin, don't worry, I won't ask any further questions."

Xiao Yao smiled helplessly, covered his forehead, and replied lightly, "No, just this one. I also hope there will be more."

After a while, Xiao Yao and Xiao Yan walked out of the Xiao family gate and stepped into the bustling street. They looked up at the intricate shops in the distance, with various signs swaying in the wind and making pleasant sounds.

The streets and alleys were filled with the shouts of vendors, and the aroma of delicious food wafted from the inns.

The two walked towards the auction venue, and after walking for a while, they turned onto another main street next to it.

At this moment, Xiao Yao and Xiao Yan looked up at the huge venue at the end of the street. The two turned into a secluded alley and put on the black cloaks they had prepared earlier.

The enormous robe draped over his body, not only obscuring Xiao Yan's face but also making the boy's somewhat slender frame appear bulky. In his current state, even his father standing right in front of him would likely find it difficult to recognize him at a glance…

Xiao Yao took out a disguise mask and put it on his face, giving him a mature appearance, and then covered his face with a robe.

The two slowly walked out of the alley and headed towards the auction venue at the end of the street.

Under the watchful eyes of several fully armed guards at the entrance, they walked straight in without stopping.

Upon entering the club, the heat seemed to be stripped away from my body, and a refreshing coolness permeated my heart.

Xiao Yao led Xiao Yan towards the place marked with the three large, golden characters "Treasure Appraisal Room." Pushing open the door, they found a middle-aged man idly toying with two iron balls. Hearing the door open, he looked at the two figures completely shrouded in black robes and smiled, saying, "Are you two here to appraise a treasure?"

Xiao Yao took out a crystal card from his storage ring, which was engraved with the crest of the Mittel family. He placed it on the table, and a deep, mature male voice came from inside the black robe: "Hmm, go and invite Gu Ni, the second-grade alchemist from your auction house, over. I need the Mittel family to find some medicinal herbs for me."

Upon seeing the crystal card on the table, the middle-aged man's expression changed, and he said respectfully, "So it's you. Very well, sir, please rest here for a while. I'll go and fetch Master Gu Ni from our auction house right now."

"Okay, hurry up." Xiao Yao waved his hand and then sat down on a chair next to him.

The middle-aged man nodded quickly and then hurriedly left the room. Xiao Yao and Xiao Yan remained silent and did not speak.

After all, this is someone else's territory, so it's best to be careful with your words and actions. Who can guarantee that there aren't any spying or eavesdropping devices here?

After staying in the room for a while, the middle-aged man returned, but this time, he was accompanied by an elderly man in a blue robe with slightly gray hair and a beautiful woman in a red dress.

"Alchemist, may I ask what kind of medicinal herbs you have commissioned the Mittel family to purchase?" Gu Ni asked respectfully with a smile on his face.

Xiao Yao took out the ingredients for the Imperial Extreme Pill and the Breaking Sect Pill that he had prepared in advance from his storage ring, and cleverly added a few useless herbs to confuse the pill formulas.

He handed the prescription to Gu Ni, which was covered with the names of various medicinal herbs. Gu Ni took the prescription and examined it carefully.

"Most of the herbs on this list are grade six. If we were to buy a whole set of them, the resources required would be incredibly high. Are you sure you want to purchase them?"

"Yes, it's fine. As long as we can buy the materials, I'll cover the cost."

When Gu Ni saw the black-robed man in front of him speak calmly, he sighed inwardly, "As expected, alchemists are all wealthy and powerful, not afraid of spending money at all."
