Battle Through the Heavens: Achievement System at the Start

That day, in the family's council hall, Xiao Zhan sat in the main seat, a solemn expression on his face. His hands were clenched tightly together, his knuckles turning white from the force, revealing his inner anxiety and unease.

He looked at the elders sitting on both sides, their faces ashen and their brows furrowed, and an eerie silence immediately filled the surroundings. Finally, the Second Elder couldn't help but speak up.

"Clan chief, the Jialie family is going too far! Relying on the first-grade alchemist they hired, they deliberately came to our market to promote their healing medicines. This has not only greatly reduced our foot traffic but also stolen our business. We must take action, or our clan will suffer huge losses!" His voice was deep and powerful, filled with anger.

Xiao Zhan remained silent for a moment before slowly speaking: "Second Elder, I know your concerns. But have you forgotten that our Xiao family also has an alchemist? Since the Jialie family has acted in this way, how can we allow them to be humiliated like this? We must reclaim our market."

At this moment, the ashen faces of the three elders gradually faded, and the eldest elder spoke calmly: "How could I forget that Xiao Yao is a first-grade alchemist? In the past, it was precisely because of the pills he refined that our Xiao family was able to vaguely rank ahead of the other two major families. However, the patriarch is right, we really cannot let others bully us so easily. Since the Jialie family is so arrogant, then we should let them know the power of our Xiao family."

"Yes, we can't stand idly by. We need to let the Jia Lie family know that the Xiao family is not to be trifled with."

Looking at the indignant expressions of the elders below, Xiao Zhan smiled faintly and said, "Alright, I'll send someone to inform Yao'er to come over now and see what he has to say."

After speaking, Xiao Zhan instructed a maid to inform Xiao Yao to come to the council hall.

At this moment, Xiao Yao was chatting with Xun'er in the courtyard when he suddenly heard a knock on the gate, followed by a voice.

"Young Master Xiao Yao, the clan leader needs to see you. Please go to the clan's council hall. The three elders are also waiting for you there."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yao couldn't help but feel a little puzzled.

He didn't know why the clan chief wanted to see him, and the three elders were also waiting for him.

Xiao Yao replied softly, "I know, I'll be there in a bit."

Xiao Yao turned to look at Xun'er and said with a smile, "Xun'er, do you know if something has happened in the family recently? Why are the patriarch and several elders waiting for me in the council hall?"

"Well, recently the Jia Lie family has hired a first-grade alchemist from somewhere. Now, a healing medicine called 'Rejuvenation Powder' has appeared in their market. This healing medicine is cheap and produced in large quantities, and it is very popular among mercenaries near Wutan City."

Xun'er nodded, her eyebrows furrowed, and said softly, "Affected by the 'Rejuvenation Powder,' the flow of people in all of Xiao's markets has decreased by nearly half. Because of the decrease in the flow of people, the merchants in those markets have gone directly to the markets of the Jia Lie family. In just a few days, Xiao's family has suffered a considerable economic blow, and Uncle Xiao has been overwhelmed by this matter."

"So Uncle Xiao called you over because he probably hopes you can solve this problem, after all, you are an alchemist."

"Hehe, just a first-grade alchemist. The Jia Lie family doesn't think they can defy the heavens with his help. Brother Xiao Yao, you should go ahead first. I'll come back to keep you company after I've dealt with this matter." After saying that, he turned and left with the maid.

Xun'er watched Xiao Yao's departing figure, a golden flame flashing in her eyes, and murmured softly, "I hope that alchemist doesn't go too far, otherwise even if Brother Xiao Yao is willing to let you go, I, Xun'er, won't be so merciful."

At this moment, Xiao Yao followed the maid to the council hall and bowed to Xiao Zhan, who was in the main seat, and several elders sitting to the side.

"Father, and the other elders, what brings you here?"

Xiao Zhan smiled warmly and said, "Yao'er, the reason I called you here is because the Jia Lie family has gained the assistance of a first-grade alchemist, which has severely impacted the pill market in our Xiao family market. Could you first refine some first-grade healing pills to help us in this emergency?"

After hearing Xiao Zhan's words, the elders all looked at Xiao Yao with expectant and concerned expressions.

Xiao Yao was slightly taken aback, then gently waved his hand, and a dozen rows of jade bottles appeared on the table. These jade bottles were arranged neatly, and each bottle emitted a faint medicinal fragrance, obviously carefully refined pills.

Xiao Yao smiled and said, "These are all first-grade pills, Blood Coagulation Powder. They are all the first-grade pills I have refined over the years, totaling five hundred bottles."

After Xiao Yao finished speaking, he took out ten exquisite jade bottles from his storage ring and placed them on the table on the other side. He said softly, "These ten bottles of pills are Grade Two Bone-Regenerating Pills. They have better healing effects and can help the injured recover quickly."

"Yao'er, you're so young and you can already refine second-grade pills. You are truly my pride!" Xiao Zhan said with emotion as he looked at the precious pills in front of him.

The elders looked at the many bottles of pills with shock in their eyes and expressions of satisfaction and pride on their faces.

At this moment, the Second Elder hurriedly stepped forward, carefully picked up the jade bottle, and opened the stopper. A rich medicinal fragrance wafted out, making one feel refreshed and excited.

The Second Elder smiled with satisfaction, gently patted Xiao Yao's shoulder, and slowly said, "The quality of this pill is indeed extraordinary. Its color and aroma have reached the standard of a second-grade pill. It seems that Xiao Yao's talent in alchemy is truly remarkable. This achievement is just the beginning for him. He will definitely have a place in the Jia Ma Empire in the future."

"Yes, I've watched him grow up since he was a child, and I know how hard he's worked and how much he's sacrificed. This time, being able to refine a second-grade pill is not only an honor for him personally, but also a source of pride for our entire family," Xiao Zhan said with emotion.

"Indeed, the future development of the family will depend on the mutual support of these two brothers." The eldest elder gently stroked his white beard, as if he could see a glorious future for the Xiao family.

"Father, is there anything else? If not, I'll head back now. If you need any more pills, just send someone to let me know, and I'll bring them over." Xiao Yao said softly, looking at the smiling faces of his father and the elders before him.

Just as Xiao Yao was about to step into his courtyard, he saw Xiao Yan walking over with a worried look on his face and asked, "Little Yan, what's wrong? You look so preoccupied."

"Brother Yao, yesterday morning after I finished cultivating in the back mountain, when I returned to the family, I saw the three elders rushing to the family hall. Their faces were gloomy and angry, obviously the family was in great trouble. Sure enough, after inquiring, I found out that the Jialie family had the help of a first-grade alchemist to seize our Xiao family's pill market."

Xiao Yan's face showed anger after he finished speaking, and then he said, "My teacher said that if we don't handle the matter between the Jia Lie family and our Xiao family properly, I'm afraid I'll have reservations during my training and won't be able to concentrate on my cultivation. So I thought I'd come here to see you. After all, everyone in the family knows you're an alchemist, so it would be more appropriate for you to help with the alchemy. Brother Yao, just tell me what kind of help you need. As long as it's something that can help the family, I can do it."

"Oh, so that's what it was about. I've almost resolved it. I just provided Father with five hundred bottles of Grade One Blood-Coagulating Pills and ten bottles of Grade Two Bone-Growing Pills in the council hall. However, there's still one thing I haven't settled. I was planning to go there later, but since you want to contribute, I'll give you the opportunity."

Xiao Yao then whispered to him, "Later, go to the Mittel Auction House and tell them to stop supplying the Jia Lie family with those healing herbs. Instead, sell those herbs to the Xiao family. I'll refine healing medicine for the family to sell in the market. I'll leave this to you."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yan patted his chest smugly and laughed, "Hehe! Leave this little thing to me."
