Chapter 22 King of Lishan

"Clear your name? What's your plan? Don't even think about it. I never consider such low-level questions." Kung Pao Chicken rolled his eyes at Wang Xiao while gnawing on a chicken leg.

Wang Xiao was well aware of his predicament: to clear his name, he needed to produce compelling evidence. Unfortunately, when Young Master Hua framed him, he left no physical evidence whatsoever; therefore, the only breakthrough lay in witness testimony.

"Is there any way to make him admit it himself?" Wang Xiao asked whimsically. But to get Young Master Lianhua to admit in front of everyone that he was the real culprit was undoubtedly a pipe dream.

"Is he stupid or are you stupid? Right now, in everyone's eyes, you're more like a murderer than him! But privately, he'd definitely admit it," Kung Pao Chicken said confidently. "He's probably just a greenhorn; he'll tell the truth if you provoke him."

Despite the Hua family's relentless pursuit, Young Master Lianhua has yet to appear. Although he has the excuse of recuperating, it has undoubtedly had a significant impact on the morale of the Hua family members. Ultimately, conquering the world requires personal involvement, and even if injured, he should still show himself—if he dared to reveal himself, the Hua family might not have suffered such a humiliating defeat.

"How can we make everyone hear Young Master Lianhua admit that he is the murderer?" Wang Xiao never gives up easily, but how to make everyone see Young Master Lianhua's true colors is a problem that has troubled him.

"Don't tell me you know me, this is a simple problem. Just remember what that bastard said, isn't that enough?"

"Write it down?" Wang Xiao rolled her eyes at it, annoyed. "What's the use of me writing it down! The key is how to make sure everyone hears it!"

"You don't believe me when I say you're a pig-brain! I'm not telling you to use your brain to remember things. Have you forgotten about the magical stone called a magnet? A magnet, formed by the magnetic field of heaven and earth, can record people's words, can't it?"

After being reminded by Kung Pao Chicken, Wang Xiao suddenly realized something and exclaimed excitedly, "That's right! How come I didn't think of that?"

"Well, I can't help it. Since it's for the chicken leg, and I happen to know where to find magnets in Lishan, I'll help you out one more time!"

"You know about this too?"

"There's no way around it, he's a genius!"

And so, the two embarked on their journey to find the magnet. In his excitement, Wang Xiao forgot that Kung Pao Chicken's confident pronouncements were often utterly unreliable.

At midday after the rain, the sun shone brightly, casting warm golden rays that filtered through the layers of leaves, casting dappled shadows on the earthy ground.

The scattered halos projected onto the ground danced individually, creating a delightful picture.

The chirping of birds filled the air, and a mischievous squirrel insisted on competing with a monkey to see who could climb a tree faster—a scene of perfect harmony.

They were not afraid of the two unfamiliar figures in the forest and continued to enjoy their peaceful time without any worries.

The vast forest, witnessed by dappled sunlight, reveals the true nature of the land.

Wang Xiaoyi was spotless, appearing exceptionally light and graceful at this moment. Her every move seemed to blend seamlessly with the world around her, natural and harmonious.

He seemed to be undergoing a baptism, his whole body sparkling and full of energy, his mind and body being tempered, and his soul being sublimated.

Strolling amidst the interplay of light and shadow, every refreshing thought and every smooth breath unfolds like a colorful flower, bringing a sense of tranquility and well-being.

Wang Xiao did not quicken his pace because of the time pressure; instead, he slowed down and savored everything around him.

For him, life is a journey of self-cultivation; every flower, every blade of grass, every tree can bring him insights into spiritual practice.

After days of life-or-death battles, he needed just such an opportunity to relax.

Focusing on one thing for a long time will make anyone feel bored and tired. Only by combining work and rest can we make continuous progress, break through our limits, surpass ourselves, and discover a brand new version of ourselves.

Only when one's mind and nature are in harmony with the heavens and one's spirit is in harmony with the earth can one reach the state of returning to simplicity and authenticity—this is the way of cultivation.

Wang Xiao closed his eyes tightly, opened his arms, and in a daze seemed to see the path he would take in the future, and understood the principles and truths after the fading of prosperity.

In nature, hundreds of flowers bloom and hundreds of grasses fall, yet there is no disorder; everything is perfectly natural. Hundreds of birds sing and thousands of beasts roar, yet there is no clamor. It embraces thousands of emotions and all things, yet it is never vulgar.

Wang Xiao seemed to understand something and became completely absorbed in it.

"Kid, I've never seen you this enraptured when you meet a beautiful woman. Are you impotent in that area? Or do you prefer 'self-reliance'?"

"Ouch, you son of a bitch! You tricked me again, kid. This time I'm going to fight you to the death!"

The further Wang Xiao went, the stronger his unease became, as if something big was about to happen.

He carefully examined his surroundings and felt increasingly uneasy: in the distance were rolling, beautiful mountain peaks, lush with trees, birds flying, rare animals roaming, and full of life; nearby were strangely shaped rocks and ancient trees, with thick vines coiling like dragons, and lush green grass and fragrant wildflowers.

It appears to be full of vitality, but upon closer inspection, it is not hard to find that this area is unusually desolate—not a single bird can be heard in the vast forest, and even common reptiles such as ants and spiders are nowhere to be seen.

"Kid, I have a bad feeling about this!" The silence in the area was broken only when Kung Pao Chicken spoke up.

"You noticed too?" Wang Xiao's unease intensified; she had already heightened her spiritual senses to the limit. "Kung Pao Chicken, are you sure we haven't taken the wrong turn?"

"I think... I probably... I didn't go the wrong way, right?" Kung Pao Chicken said guiltily.

"I'll yell at you, you damn bird!"

Meanwhile, the Kung Pao Chicken next to him seemed to have noticed something, muttering absentmindedly to himself, "Damn it, how did we end up here?"

Wang Xiao vaguely felt that his guess had come true. The surroundings were deathly silent, leaving only two possibilities: either they had entered a dead zone, or they had stumbled into the territory of some powerful demonic beast. Given the beast's overwhelming power, the absence of other animals was quite normal.

But this place is full of life and can't possibly be a dead zone, so only the second possibility remains.

Thinking of this, Wang Xiao shuddered, grabbed the absent-minded Kung Pao Chicken, and started running wildly.

Unfortunately, he discovered it too late—there are no other animals in the territory of a powerful monster, and it will immediately detect any intruder and regard it as a provocation.

The moment Wang Xiao took a step, a thunderous cry of a baby rang out throughout the forest, followed by an earth-shaking tremor.

The ground shook violently, almost causing him to lose his balance. He turned around and looked back, cold sweat pouring down his back. He couldn't help but curse, "Damn it, we really did run into it!"

Several hundred meters behind him, a colossal creature suddenly appeared.

The monster was bluish-black all over, covered with hard scales, and had two fleshy horns on its head. It looked just like a cow, but was dozens of times larger.

Its eyes were bloodshot, and the muscles beneath its scales were like steel plates. With the slightest exertion, its bones and muscles would crackle and pop. The baby-like cry came from its mouth.

"My god! This guy is the King of Lishan, Xi Qu! How could I, your lord, run into this ugly monster!" Kung Pao Chicken finally came to his senses, his face even more ashen than a wilted eggplant. "Kid, let me go right now, I'm flying!"

The wail of Kung Pao Chicken rang in Wang Xiao's ears, no more pleasant than the wailing of Xi Qu.

Their encounter with the King of Lishan, Xiqu, was entirely due to Kung Pao Chicken. Wang Xiao, of course, wouldn't let this culprit get away so easily.

"Chicken Ding, it's too dangerous for you to go out alone at this time. I won't let you face the King of Lishan alone! I understand your great sense of righteousness, there's no need for you to sacrifice yourself for me." Wang Xiao said sincerely, but in his heart he was laughing wildly.

"You damned brat, let me go! I know you're up to no good!" Kung Pao Chicken's voice trembled, and his body shook.

"Brother, no need for further words! I will never let you go out and take risks. We agreed before that we would share the good times and the bad!"

"Damn brat, you actually repaid kindness with enmity! Ah..." Kung Pao Chicken let out a wail, then suddenly his voice did a complete 180-degree turn, and he said with tears of gratitude, "Brother, I misunderstood you! I never expected you to be so good to me. After I escape this time, I'm willing to be your slave to repay you!"

Wang Xiao was completely confused by Kung Pao Chicken's words, thinking it was up to some trick again.

Turning my head, I saw that the rhinoceros behind me had actually taken flight—it sprouted a pair of huge wings on its back, spread its wings, soared into the sky, and stirred up a fierce wind that blew sand and stones into the forest and obscured the sun.

If the Kung Pao Chicken had actually flown away, it would undoubtedly be the rhinoceros's primary target right now. Unexpectedly, Wang Xiao's "accidental" move saved its life.

As the rhinoceros horn drew ever closer, Wang Xiao cursed "Damn it!" and turned to flee into the dense forest—only by using the cover of the jungle could he effectively evade the enemy in the air.

"My God! Kid, hurry! That ugly monster is coming, and it's getting stronger and stronger!"

The approaching rhinoceros horn emitted a deafening roar that made one's eardrums ache.

It continuously spewed out a five-colored, fishy stench from its mouth, sweeping across the entire mountain forest. Its scales were as large as palm-leaf fans, and even under the sunlight, the bluish-black scales emitted a cold, eerie luster. Most peculiar were the two fleshy horns on its head, which shimmered and sparkled, with rays of colorful light constantly converging into its skull.

As Wang Xiao fled into the dense forest, Xi Qu roared and slammed into the ground from mid-air. The earth shook violently, and a huge crater, comparable to a meteorite crater, appeared in the center.
