"I said...no..." Mo Qiushui gritted her teeth, her eyes fixed on Hong Lang, with a hint of panic that she herself couldn't quite explain.

Hong Lang stared at her for a couple of moments, then suddenly sighed.

"Although I, Hong Lang, am not exactly a gentleman, I would never take advantage of someone in distress at a time like this."

His tone became unusually serious: "You are the daughter of the prefect. If I were to do anything to you, I would be dead anyway. All I want to do now is save you, nothing more."

Mo Qiushui didn't speak, but the hand gripping her collar loosened a little.

Hong Lang pressed his advantage: "If you delay another half an hour, even a god can't save you. What am I supposed to say when the prefect asks?"

Mo Qiushui was silent for a moment, then said in a very low voice, "You... turn around."

Hong Lang was stunned for a moment, then understood what she meant and obediently turned around.

She heard rustling sounds behind her, slow and labored; her leg injury was too severe, and every movement was tearing at the wound.

"alright."

The sound was so soft it was almost inaudible.

Hong Lang turned around.

Mo Qiushui had already taken off all her clothes and was naked.

She turned her back to Hong Lang, one arm across her chest, her palm cupping her two jade rabbits.

Her other hand hung down in front of her lower abdomen, her fingertips slightly overlapping, just enough to cover the most private area.

Her skin was so white it was almost transparent, like the finest Hetian jade, with faint blue veins visible beneath.

The surface was covered with blue and red marks, caused by the fall off the cliff.

Her neck peeked out from among her loose, dark hair, slender and long.

Her waist was so slender that one worried it might break, yet it suddenly became fuller at the hip line.

The curves were soft and full, trembling slightly with each breath.

Her legs extended out from this full curve, straight and long.

At that moment, her feet betrayed her innermost secret due to nervousness.

Those fair and delicate feet had their toes tightly curled up, with shallow wrinkles forming on the soles of their toes.

The arch of the foot is taut, like a fully drawn bowstring, with the veins slightly protruding on the instep.

The inner edge of the sole gently rubbed against the ground, as if trying to grab onto something for support, or as if ready to escape at any moment.

Heel slightly raised, only the forefoot barely touching the ground, the whole foot was trembling slightly, even the ankle bones were quivering gently.

That feigned composure could not be concealed by those uneasy feet.

"You...stop looking..." Mo Qiushui said softly.

Hong Lang shook his head, clearing his mind of distractions, and quickly took off his clothes, moving closer naked.

His body radiated obvious heat, like a red-hot iron block falling into the snow in the cold cave.

Mo Qiushui instinctively shrank back, but Hong Lang reached out and put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her into his embrace.

The cool skin pressed against the warm chest, and for a moment, Mo Qiushui froze.

Hong Lang froze for a moment, feeling as if he were holding a piece of ice-cold jade.

A delicate, smooth coolness, like autumn stream water flowing through your fingers.

The moment her skin touched him, he thought he was holding a piece of fine silk.

No, silk is never this smooth and warm.

It was a true skin-to-skin contact, so smooth that it almost slipped from his touch; every inch was firm yet soft, with the elasticity unique to a young girl.

The chill was gradually warmed by her body temperature, and a faint warmth began to rise from beneath her skin, like an undercurrent surging beneath a layer of ice.

The change from cool to warm was the most agonizing, making him want to press closer and feel more of the warmth.

Her skin was so smooth that he had to use a little force to keep her steady when his arm was around her waist, otherwise she would slide out of his arms.

His waist was so slender that it could be grasped in one hand, and the bones beneath his skin pressed against his forearms, yet were wrapped in a layer of soft flesh, a mixture of hardness and softness.

The most dangerous thing was her trembling.

It wasn't the kind of shivering you feel from the cold, but a tremor that seeped from the very marrow of your bones, sending waves of pain through your body.

Her heartbeat, fast and frantic, pounded against his ribs as if it would burst out of his chest, through that thin layer of skin.

Hong Lang took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

He silently recited in his heart: emptiness is form, form is emptiness... But the more he recited it, the clearer the sensation of the body in his arms became, and the jade dragon had raised its head!

At this moment, Mo Qiushui felt a surge of heat seeping in from where the two were touching, gradually dispelling the chill that had settled on her body.

His skin was rough and hot, a stark contrast to her smooth, delicate back.

The rough texture brushed against her shoulder blades, creating a strange, tingling sensation that made her involuntarily tense up.

She could feel his heart beating in his chest, steady and powerful, each beat striking her spine like a drumbeat.

The heat was still spreading, burning from her back to her ears, and from her ears to her cheeks, turning her whole body a light pink.

She didn't know why she was like this; she was freezing cold, yet her whole body felt burning hot.

What alarmed her even more was the burning sensation between her buttocks.

She instinctively tried to move forward, but the cave walls were right in front of her, leaving her nowhere to retreat.

This attempt to dodge caused his buttocks to push backward, and the jade dragon became deeply embedded in it.

"Don't move." Hong Lang's voice was a little hoarse, and his breath brushed over her head, carrying a scorching temperature.

Mo Qiushui froze, not daring to breathe heavily, her whole body like a piece of melted jade, both hot and soft.

Her toes curled even tighter, almost making her feet into a fist.

"Don't be afraid," Hong Lang said softly. "I won't do anything, I'll just stay here."

Mo Qiushui didn't speak; her body was slowly relaxing.

She didn't struggle, nor did she push him away.

The two embraced silently, the wind howling outside the cave, but inside it was so quiet that only their breathing could be heard.

Mo Qiushui did not move again.

Her breathing gradually became steady and long, and her body was no longer stiff. She leaned softly against him, like a cat that had finally let down its guard.

Hong Lang glanced down at her.

She fell asleep.

The color is slowly returning to his pale face.

The wind and snow outside the cave had stopped sometime ago, and a sliver of sunlight peeked in through the cracks in the rocks, falling on the two of them in a thin layer, like a blanket.

Before he knew it, Hong Lang had also fallen asleep.

When he opened his eyes again, the first thing he saw was Mo Qiushui's eyes, which were both ashamed and angry.

She was lying on her side, facing him, so close that he could see the ice crystals clinging to her eyelashes.

Her face had regained some color, and her lips were no longer purple, but the anger in her eyes made it seem as if she wanted to tear him apart.

Hong Lang was stunned for a moment, then realized that a pear tree was standing in front of the crabapple tree, which was still in bud.

The cave was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Mo Qiushui's face flushed red instantly, burning from her neck all the way to her ears, like a wild azalea weighed down by snow, blooming with astonishing color.

"I didn't mean to!" Hong Lang sat up almost as if he had sprung up. "When you're sleeping, your body goes out of control, you can't blame me for that..."

Mo Qiushui didn't speak, but slowly propped herself up, wrapped herself tightly in the coat, turned her face to the side, revealing her perfect jawline and a section of her reddened neck.

Hong Lang then noticed that his arms were still in a hugging position.

He quickly withdrew his hand and coughed lightly, "Um... does your leg still hurt?"

Mo Qiushui did not answer.

She looked down at her left leg, which was now swollen beyond recognition, with bruising spreading from her ankle to her knee.

She tried to move, her brows furrowed instantly, and a muffled groan escaped from between her teeth.

"Don't move!" Hong Lang quickly moved closer, reaching out to check her leg, but then pulled his hand back halfway. "...How do you feel? Is your bone broken?"

"Hmm." Mo Qiushui's voice was soft, but it was stronger than last night. "My shinbone... it seems to be broken."

Hong Lang breathed a sigh of relief: "Broken bones can be set."

Mo Qiushui glanced at him, her eyes filled with a complex mix of anger, shame, and something else she herself didn't even realize.

"Turn around," she said.

Hong Lang was taken aback: "You're going to switch again?"

"I need to get dressed."

"Oh." Hong Lang obediently turned around, facing the cave wall, staring at the uneven stones and counting the patterns on them.

A rustling sound came from behind, slower and more labored than last night.

Her leg injury was so severe that every movement was accompanied by suppressed gasps.

Hong Lang couldn't stand it anymore and said without turning his head, "How about I help you? You can't put it on by yourself."

"Need not."

"You can't use your leg at all. If you force it like this, it will cause the bones to dislocate and make things even more troublesome."

There was a few moments of silence.

"...Then turn around and don't look."
