Leia loosened Cairo's hand.

There's no need for her to force herself to keep what she can't have.

"Goodbye, Roan." Leia nodded gently without a trace of reluctance.

"Very good," Layton exclaimed. Compared to his immature granddaughter, Roan was much more pleasing to the eye.

"Levi's squire, friend of the Lionheart family! I will praise your chivalry to the lord of Lorton."

Panting, Ryder arrived at the banquet and grinned at Roan. He also called out loudly:

"Thank you for stopping the Lionheart family's disgrace, wise knight, Roan! For this act alone, I will reward you with 100 silver coins to your satisfaction."

Leia heard it clearly.

She never imagined that Luo An would sell her out for two hundred silver coins.

Leia's eyes were fixed on Luo An.

Although she didn't say anything, Luo An still understood what she meant.

How could you do this?!

Luo An was also helpless.

But at least they managed to stop Leia.

"Um, Leia, you don't actually need to go out this door," Roan said carefully, choosing his words.

"The Lionheart family is so rich, it's hard for them to make a living outside."

"A clever young man," Ryder exclaimed sincerely. "Leah, you're not as clever as him."

"Oh, thank you. Mr. Ryder, please remember to settle the bill."

Roan nodded to Ryder and then said:

"The heir hasn't been decided yet, has he?"

"Even if you're going to leave, you'll have to wait until I finish this deal," Luo An said with a smile.

"Don't worry, I'm actually quite capable."

Leia was taken aback; she suddenly understood what Luo An meant.

That's right, the successor hasn't been decided yet.

The Lionheart family are knights by birth, so Layton certainly has a lot of say in choosing the heir.

But the family rules passed down through generations cannot be denied by Layton's words alone.

Is this really in accordance with the rules? What will the family's knights think?

Where is Léa going?

This is Leia's estate.

It was her beloved old man who should have left.

Not only was Leia stunned, but Leiden and Ryder were also taken aback.

Both of them wore strange expressions.

Compared to Ryder, Layton looked even more embarrassed. To deny the Cavaliers was, in a sense, to deny himself.

"Old man," Ryder said quietly.

"Don't listen to his nonsense. What right does he have to interfere in our family affairs?"

Layton glared at Ryder, all because of the guy's suggestion, coupled with his fear of magical beasts, which led Layton to make an irrational move.

Even so, in front of so many people, Layton did not refute his foolish son.

"Roan Yunina!" Layton shouted, "Our family's affairs are none of the business of outsiders."

"It is precisely because there is a better successor that I have arranged for Leia to go to a better place, without breaking the rules."

"But how do you know your so-called successor is excellent if there's no competition?" Luo An spread his hands.

"Ultimately, knights should let their strength speak for itself, right?"

"Hmph." Layton sneered.

"Leward, come out and show them what a true knight is."

The tightly closed banquet hall doors were suddenly pushed open, and a two-meter-tall brass knight slowly walked into the room. The knight's shoulder armor was carved with two lions, and on his chest was a three-dimensional lion carving of the Lionheart family.

"Witness this!" Layton shouted quickly.

"The strongest and youngest apprentice knight of the United Kingdom of Vanli! The Sleeping Lion of Aisen Territory! The proud youngest son of the Lionheart family, my son, Leward Lionheart!"

Leward stepped forward slowly, removing his lion-like helmet to reveal a sculpted, handsome face. He walked up to Leward and knelt on one knee.

"Grandpa, Father."

"I originally wanted to give my cousin face and didn't want to get involved."

"Oh. What a humble child." Ryder quickly helped Ryward up.

"Father, look at him, how much he resembles you in your youth—strong yet humble, reserved yet full of courage."

Layton's expression softened considerably as he presented Layward to the nobles as if it were a precious jewel.

"Ladies and gentlemen, look, the proudest child of the Lionheart family."

The nobles held their breath, just as Layton had said, Roan

"Lea, did you see that?"

"Luan Yunina, did you see that?"

"I don't want to hurt Leia's feelings. Even putting aside his strength, Leiward's reputation has already spread throughout the Aisen Territory."

"And you, Roan Yunina"

You're just a guard in the Eisen Territory, and I even know that six months ago you were just a stable boy.

While you're feeding the horses, Leward is learning unimaginable knowledge at the best university in the Eisenshire. He's understanding the history and future of the world, studying the arrangement of the stars, contemplating the mysteries of mathematics, learning knowledge you've never seen or could ever imagine, and earning the highest praise from the university.

Forgive my bluntness, but the only title you can hold is that of a squire of the Black Iron Knights. Just an ordinary guard.

After a pause, Layton continued in a loud voice.

"Leah, as the eldest daughter of the family, you have too low a vision."

"Such a lowly fellow, from the past to the present and into the future, will never be able to cross the threshold of the Lionheart family."

"Roan Yunina! I don't mean to belittle you, but I have to state the facts—"

"Are you done, Grandpa?" Leia interrupted Layton's speech.

She held her head high and looked directly into Layton's eyes.

"Grandpa, you can insult me, but you can't insult Luo An."

"Luo An has indeed never been to school and has never known anything about mathematics or the stars—"

Taking a deep breath, Leia said softly.

"You know that Warcraft has reappeared, right, Grandpa?"

This isn't a secret; everyone knows it, and it's circulating. Yet everyone thinks it's a rumor.

Upon hearing the word "monster," all the nobles' expressions changed. Having read the legends thoroughly, they knew what monsters meant.

While those rumors circulating among the common people were difficult to verify, when they came from the mouth of a high-ranking noble like Leia Lionheart, they almost certainly confirmed the rumors.

This made the nobles even more uneasy.

Upon hearing the word "Warcraft," Layton's hand trembled slightly, and even Leiward frowned.

These were keenly observed by Léa.

"Grandpa, dear cousin, you're scared, aren't you?"

Leia's voice suddenly became louder.

"That's precisely why you should all kneel before Luo An!"

"Her name is Roan Yunina! The fearless knight who hunted the first demonic beast!"

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone—soldiers, nobles, Layton, Ryder, and Leward—looked at Roan in disbelief.

That guy, that black-haired knight with a calm and gentle face, is actually the legendary knight who faced the first monster in the kingdom?!

How could they believe that such a monster, taller than a mountain and with fangs strong enough to pierce armor, a mortal enemy of man, had been defeated by a mere apprentice knight?

They were right next to them.

It was Roan Yunina.

Luo An sighed and whispered to Leia.

"Leah, actually I went to school too."
