Chapter 96 Natsuki Katsumitsu Might Dai (First and Second Updates)

"The victor is Matt Day!"

It took Inuya Jacques several seconds to realize that he was the examiner before he loudly announced the results.

There was no way around it; the shock of this battle was simply too great for him.

How could a nearly two-thousand-year-old genin with no reputation and who had not yet become a chunin suddenly unleash strength close to that of a jonin?

Minato Namikaze, a genius among geniuses and Jiraiya's student, was powerless against him.

The world is changing too fast for him to understand.

"Tsunade."

Hiruzen Sarutobi immediately said, "Go check on Dai's condition."

The Eight Gates Formation is listed as a forbidden technique because it is too dangerous.

The first three gates are considered safe zones, but starting from the fourth gate, unimaginable side effects will occur, causing serious harm to the body.

But opening all eight gates comes at the cost of death.

Matt Day only opened four doors; while it wouldn't endanger his life, it would certainly cause some damage.

If not dealt with promptly, it may affect the future.

In Hiruzen Sarutobi's eyes, Might Guy was just a genin with decent taijutsu skills.

But now it's completely different; he sees Might Guy as the future pillar of Konoha.

the reason is simple.

Opening all eight gates grants temporary power comparable to a Kage-level character.

Although it would cost him his life, Might Guy could completely turn the tide of battle when it came down to the life or death of Konoha.

"Um.

""

Tsunade nodded and immediately walked up to Might Guy.

After Inuzuka Jacques declared him the victor, he released the Eight Gates and collapsed to the ground, looking extremely exhausted.

At the same time, two other medical ninjas arrived in front of Minato Namikaze and began to treat him.

He wasn't seriously injured because the main force of Might Day's kick landed on the Rasengan.

"Natsuki."

Nawaki snapped out of his daze and asked, "Are you confident you can beat Dai just now?"

"Natsuki will definitely win!"

Kushina Uzumaki gave a soft snort and said.

"Although the Eight Gates Formation is powerful, it has a fatal flaw: it cannot be maintained for long."

Xia Mu concluded, "After a while, he himself couldn't continue playing."

"I see."

Nawaki nodded, then asked, "You're very knowledgeable about the Eight Gates?"

"I've heard about it."

Xia Mu gave them a brief introduction to the Eight Gates Formation.

"They actually have S-rank physical skills?"

Nawaki said with a surprised look, "I thought the highest level of physical skills was only A."

But you can't blame him for that.

After all, the Eight Gates Formation hasn't appeared for a long time.

The Eight Gates Formation was not invented by Matt Day.

In the original work, Madara Uchiha once said that he had heard of the Eight Gates before his death.

The introduction to Matt Day only states that it took him twenty years to master the Eight Gates Formation, not that he invented it.

Just then, Minato Namikaze walked up to them.

"Minato, how are you?"

Xia Mu asked.

"I'm fine."

Minato Namikaze shook his head and said, "It's just a minor injury."

"Minato, you didn't lose unjustly."

Nawaki patted him on the shoulder and said, "The Eight Gates is an S-rank taijutsu."

"S-rank physical skills? No wonder."

Minato Namikaze's face showed a look of realization.

He himself was learning the S-rank ninjutsu, Flying Thunder God Technique, so he was well aware of the value of S-rank.

"Xia Mu, did you already know he had learned the Eight Gates Formation?"

Minato Namikaze asked with some curiosity.

"Um.

""

Xia Mu nodded and casually said, "I chatted with him a couple of times before."

"You have a discerning eye."

Kushina Uzumaki said with a smile, "No one in the entire Hidden Leaf Village has discovered that Dai has learned the Eight Gates."

What made her even happier was that Xia Mu recommended such a talented player as Matt Day to be her teammate.

"I suspect it's related to his personality."

Xia Mu shook his head and said.

Rope Tree and the others were speechless.

Matt Day's personality is indeed hard to handle.

Natsuki looked at Tsunade, who was treating Might Guy.

After this battle, Hiruzen Sarutobi will definitely pay extra attention to Might Guy.

In the original work, it's highly unlikely that Might Guy will fight the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist alone again.

After all, with Hiruzen Sarutobi's abilities, he could play a greater role.

With the support of Konoha Village, Might Guy's strength might even reach a new level.

Not long after, Tsunade finished the treatment.

Matt Day was almost fully recovered when he left the field.

"Round 4, Match 2: Natsuki vs. Nawaki!"

Inuzuka Jaw shouted at just the right moment.

"I don't know if I still have a chance to make it into the top three."

Rope Tree shook his head and said.

Matt Day's sudden emergence made him lose confidence in even making the top three.

"If you can beat me, you'll be in the top three."

Xia Mu said with a smile.

"7

Rope Tree was speechless.

"Youth should not be given up on easily!"

Matt Day gave a thumbs-up and said.

"Too."

Rope Tree perked up and said, "We'll only know the result after we've fought it."

Xia Mu nodded and walked into the arena with him.

Because his opponent was Nawaki, he didn't use the wooden sword, but instead projected Kurosawa.

Besides being stronger than his previous opponents, he also wielded the greatsword Samehada.

Using a wooden sword to fight the Greatsword Samehada is asking for trouble.

One-Sword Style: Thirty-Six Troubles of the Phoenix!

Xia Mu took a step forward and swung the Kurosawa sword in his hand at high speed.

The wind howled, and the airflow generated by swinging the sword turned into a wave of sword energy, instantly striking Rope Tree.

Water Escape·Water Formation Wall!

When Rope Tree saw him raise his arm, he quickly formed a hand seal.

A wall of water rose in front of him, blocking the wave of swords.

The water wall shook violently, but it wasn't shattered immediately.

Nawaki grabbed the large sword Samehada on his back and leaped up, stepping on the wall of water.

Breath of Water - Second Form - Waterwheel!

He descended from the sky, his body twisting like a waterwheel, his greatsword Samehada cascading down with the flow of water.

His rapid offensive gave him an indomitable spirit.

Upon seeing this, Tsunade nodded.

Breath of Water - Fourth Form - Tide of Strike!

Xia Mu paused, gripped Kurosawa with both hands, and then slashed out.

The water flowed around him, eventually transforming into an arc of blade light with each strike.

A sharp, resounding impact rang out.

Kurosawa and the greatsword Samehada collided violently.

For a moment, the two knives were locked in a stalemate.

But at that moment, Samehada suddenly opened its mouth, twisted its body, and bit at Natsuki's wrist.

It was fast, but Xia Mu's reaction speed was even faster.

He quickly withdrew Kurosawa, avoiding the bite of the Greatsword Samehada. At the same time, he turned his body, and water gushed out.

Water Breathing - Land Form - Twisting Vortex!

A vortex-like slash enveloped the rope tree.

Rope Tree immediately sensed the danger.

But in his haste, he could only raise his greatsword Samehada to shield himself.

Fortunately, Samehada, the greatsword, was large enough to block the attack instantly.

However, the immense force transmitted caused Rope Tree to stagger backward.

Natsuki moved forward, while Kurosawa continued to swing his sword.

For a moment, Rope Tree was parrying and retreating, looking quite disheveled.

Rope Tree gritted his teeth, knowing he couldn't continue any longer.

With a flick of his wrist, the greatsword Samehada flew out, its hilt extending like a chain.

Samehada: Flying Chain Slash!

Xia Mu stopped and slashed at it with his sword.

The immense force caused his body to tremble slightly.

With a powerful swing, Nawaki sent the Greatsword Samehada soaring and crashing down like a meteor hammer, slamming it down on Natsuki.

Xia Mu narrowed his eyes.

As he locked onto the Greatsword Samehada, he stepped back and swung his hands out.

Two Kurosawa swords flew out and struck the Greatsword Samehada.

Fantasy Collapse!

With a thought, Xia Mu immediately caused the two Kurosawa swords to explode.

The greatsword Samehada was blown away.

The powerful force returned along the hilt of the sword.

Nawaki instinctively gripped the hilt of his sword, but lost his grip, and the greatsword Samehada flew out.

He didn't have time to pick it up; he immediately formed a hand seal.

Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!

Streams of water appeared out of thin air and instantly coalesced into a giant water dragon.

The water dragon roared and lunged at Xia Mu.

Seeing this, Xia Mu took out another Kurosawa.

Breathing of Water, Form of Gathering, Flow of Life!

He moved, and water flowed out.

Xia Mu burst forth with incredible speed, rushing towards the rope tree.

He swung the Kurosawa sword in his hand in an instant.

Above his head, the water converged, forming a water dragon as well.

The two water jets collided, producing a dull thud.

But the rope tree's water dragon was cut in half the next second.

Xia Mu had already reached him when he jerked his arm, and Kurosawa abruptly stopped.

"I—I surrender."

Nawaki looked at Kurosawa in front of him, swallowed hard, and said.

"Has Natsuki created a new sword technique based on Water Breathing?"

""

Orochimaru's eyes flashed with surprise.

Natsuki had used Water Breathing: Pick-up Form: Life Flow before, but he wasn't present at the time.

Jiraiya and Tsunade knew about it.

"The point is not breathing water."

Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a smile.

Orochimaru nodded slightly.

He knew that Hiruzen Sarutobi was referring to projection magic and illusion collapse.

As Natsuki's teacher, he naturally wouldn't hide the fact that Natsuki had defeated Chiyo's son and daughter-in-law from him.

He also knew exactly how he was defeated.

Like Hiruzen Sarutobi, he never expected that the seemingly insignificant projection magic could produce such great power.

Its advantages and disadvantages are both very obvious.

"We lost after all."

Rope Tree shook his head, not thinking there was anything wrong with it.

After all, he often lost to Xia Mu in their usual sparring matches.

The only difference this time is that it's during the Chunin Exams.

With this loss, it's uncertain whether he can make it into the top three.

Becoming a Chunin shouldn't be a problem.

During wartime, demands will be lowered considerably.

"You mustn't lose to Dai."

Nawaki picked up the greatsword Samehada and said, "In that case, I'll lose to the first place, which will sound much better to people."

I will try my best to meet your requirements.

Xia Mu chuckled and said.

After the two left the arena, Kushina Uzumaki and the others gathered around them.

"Finally, the final match has arrived."

Minato Namikaze remarked with a sigh, "But things often turn out unexpectedly."

"This is the unpredictable nature of youth!"

Matt Day said with unwavering determination, "We just have to keep moving forward!"

"I have to say, Dai always makes a lot of sense."

Rope Tree couldn't help but agree.

"Yeah?"

Matt Day asked excitedly, "So, are you going to join the Path of Youth?"

"No, no, I'm not interested in youth."

Rope Tree was so frightened that he quickly shook his head.

Seeing this, Natsuki, Kushina Uzumaki, and the others couldn't help but laugh.

"The final match of the Chunin Exams: Natsuki vs. Might Guy!"

After the break, Inuya Jaw walked to the center of the field and announced loudly.

"Now that Dai has mastered the Eight Gates, do you still think Xia Mu can get first place?"

Hiruzen Sarutobi asked.

He had asked this question before, and they all believed that Natsuki would win in the end.

But at that time they did not know that Might Guy had mastered the Eight Gates.

"If Dai can only open four doors, then he is no match for Xia Mu."

Orochimaru pondered for a moment and then spoke.

"I've checked, and given Dai's current physical condition, he's unlikely to be able to open the fifth door, and even if he could, he wouldn't be able to hold it for more than a few seconds."

Tsunade added.

Let's wait and see.

Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded slightly and said with a smile.

Xia Mu and Matt Day walked into the center of the field.

"Natsuki!"

Might Guy said very seriously, "I am very grateful for your recommendation, otherwise I would not have been able to participate in the Chunin Exams!"

""

Although it was Hiruzen Sarutobi who sent someone to inform him, he already knew the whole story from Kushina Uzumaki.

"I recommend you because you have the ability."

"That's what Xia Mu replied."

"To repay you, let's have a thrilling, youthful showdown!"

Might Guy roared, "Eight Gates! Open! Open! Open! Open! Open! Open!"

He opened all four doors directly.

The green chakra surged wildly, like a storm on the sea, sweeping outwards in all directions.

Xia Mu felt the surging airflow coming towards him.

He thought to himself that this was truly astonishing.

"Leaf Whirlwind!"

Matt Day's body suddenly appeared in front of Natsuki.

Its astonishing speed meant that Minato Namikaze and the others watching could only see a streak of green light.

Enhancement Magic!

Gravity-enhancing magic: Gravity Reduction!

Xia Mu jumped back, avoiding his kick.

Minato Namikaze was startled.

He also discovered that Xia Mu's reaction speed was no less than his own.

What's going on here?

"Konoha Whirlwind!"

Matt Day missed one kick and then tried again.

The speed was extremely fast.

Before Xia Mu even landed, Might Day's attack was already upon him.

Fortunately, he had the reaction speed of Kirito's template; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to react at all.

In the world of martial arts, speed is the ultimate weapon, and this still holds true in the ninja world.

Natsuki's overall strength is greater than Might Dai's, but he was at a disadvantage in the first fight because of his speed.

However, he naturally knew that this situation could not last long.

Fantasy Collapse!

Xia Mu threw out a Kurosawa, which immediately detonated.

Matt Day sensed danger and quickly backed away.

With a loud bang!

Kurosawa exploded, but Matt Day was not injured.

Ittō-ryū (One-Sword Style), Iaijutsu (Quick Attack), and Shishi-sō (Lion's Lament)!

Xia Mu took out a new Kurosawa sword, and with a flash, it transformed into a streak of light and sped out.

"Konoha Power Cyclone!"

After Matt Day regained his footing, he kicked out.

Green chakra enveloped his right leg, giving his strike the power to break steel.

Kurosawa was kicked and began to tremble violently.

Xia Mu released his grip and used Fantasy Collapse again.

The chakra suddenly exploded, and the air currents carrying fragments surged toward Might Guy.

With his four doors open, Matt Day was incredibly fast and quickly dodged to the left.

In that flash, the distance between them increased again.

Breathing of Water, Form of Gathering, Flow of Life!

Natsuki leaped up and grasped the newly projected Kurosawa with both hands.

The water surged and formed a water dragon above his head.

"As expected of you! You're so powerful that you've reignited my youthful passion!"

Matt Day gritted his teeth and roared, "Open the door!"

The flow of chakra around him surged once again.

But he was also in great pain, his face contorted and contorted, his entire body wracked with unimaginable agony.

Xia Mu's heart stirred, and he realized something.

That is, Might Guy cannot use physical techniques such as Lotus Flower, Morning Peacock, and Night Guy.

He only knows the Eight Gates Formation, which, simply put, means he's so strong he can send bricks flying.

Thinking about it carefully, it makes sense. If he knew how to deal with people like Peacock, then only four of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist would have died.

"Konoha Power Cyclone!"

Matt Day kicked again.

The same kick becomes incredibly powerful when performed at the fifth gate.

boom!

The water jet was kicked into pieces, splashing water everywhere.

Xia Mu couldn't help but step back.

He extended his left hand and grasped the second Kurosawa.

Xia Mu immediately steadied himself and charged towards Matt Day.

Starburst Stream Slash!

Horizontal slash, lunging horizontal slash, spinning slash, dual-sword parallel slash — alternating left and right slashes and thrusts.

In an instant, Xia Mu wielded two swords and unleashed a sixteen-hit combo.

The speed was as fast as a sudden storm.

Each strike generated a surge of chakra, like endless waves, all rushing towards Might Guy.

Matt Day, in his fifth gate state, reacted very quickly.

He kept throwing out punches, which collided with the two swords, producing a violent clanging sound.

However, he soon discovered that he couldn't keep up with Xia Mu's speed.

Blood splattered!

Matt Day was sent flying backward.

His arms were covered with knife marks.

"What kind of swordsmanship is this?"

Tsunade asked instinctively, "It's gotten that fast?"

"He unleashed sixteen strikes in an instant."

Hiruzen Sarutobi stared at Natsuki and exclaimed in amazement, "This speed reminds me of Sakumo."

Its speed, comparable to that of Sakumo Hatake, means that most Jonin would find it difficult to withstand the Starburst Stream Slash.

"I haven't heard of any dual-wielding swordsmen in the ninja world yet."

Orochimaru said with a strange expression, "This is another sword technique created by Natsuki himself."

"I'll go save them first."

After Tsunade finished speaking, she used Body Flicker Technique to appear in front of Might Guy.

He had already exited the Eight Gates Formation state, and with his arms injured, he looked extremely serious.

"We won!"

Kushina Uzumaki shouted happily.

"When did Natsuki create a new sword technique? I've never seen him use it before?"

Rope Tree's lips twitched; he felt that Natsuki was becoming increasingly perverted.

Minato Namikaze shared the same sentiment.

He discovered that the more information he knew about Xia Mu, the greater the gap between them became.

"The victor is Xia Mu!"

Inuzuka Jaw took a deep breath and announced the result.

In his view, this final battle was no longer a fight between Chunin, but more like a Jonin exam.
