Douluo Continent: Martial Soul Emperor, Unifying the Continent!

"Do you see these four words on the blackboard?"

Zi Ling tapped the blackboard with the back of her hand, signaling everyone in the classroom to look over.

"You should be familiar with Shrek Academy's assessment system. Whether you're in the outer academy or the inner academy, even freshmen are subject to assessments!"

As she spoke, she glanced at the new students in the classroom.

After three months of adjustment, the students adapted to life at Shrek Academy, and she also adapted to the pace of being a teacher.

"Our School of Foreign Languages has six grades, and you are not actually first-year students yet; you are still freshmen."

"If you want to truly become a first-year student at Shrek Academy and a member of Shrek Academy, you still need to pass the freshman assessment. Only if you pass the assessment can you stay."

At this point, Zi Ling could clearly see the nervous expressions on the faces of the freshmen in the classroom.

This reminded her of when she was a freshman.

She was also very nervous when facing the new student assessment at that time.

After all, having already entered Shrek Academy, how could they be willing to be eliminated?

But assessments are mandatory!

Only those who survive the great wave of change, after the tide recedes, are the students Shrek Academy wants!

"You are the first class of students I've taught, and as your teacher, I hope you will all stay. Okay, now I'll explain the rules for the new student assessment, so please listen carefully..."

The freshmen in the classroom listened attentively as their homeroom teacher explained the rules. Having already studied at Shrek Academy for three months, they absolutely did not want to be eliminated.

Soon, the rules for the new student assessment were explained.

Zi Ling looked at the students in the classroom and said in a deep voice, "Currently, there are a total of ninety-seven students in our class. After being divided into thirty-two groups, there is one person left. As the class teacher of the freshmen class, I have a special recruitment quota to directly pass the assessment."

As she spoke, her gaze fell on Xu Tianming's position.

"I plan to give this spot to Xu Tianming!"

The classroom erupted in commotion as everyone turned to look at Xu Tianming with envy in their eyes.

Passing the assessment directly means that Xu Tianming no longer needs to worry about the freshman assessment and can steadily step into the threshold of Shrek Academy's first year.

Almost none of the freshmen in the class had any objections to Ziling's decision; in fact, they felt that the class teacher's decision was beneficial to them.

The reason is simple: Xu Tianming was specially recruited and didn't participate in the freshman assessment, so they wouldn't run into this formidable person during the assessment!

Although Xu Tianming has been relatively quiet for the past three months since the start of the semester, no one will forget his feat on the first day of school when he single-handedly suppressed more than a dozen people and even almost defeated the homeroom teacher!

If this formidable individual were to participate in the freshman assessment, he would be unstoppable, like a god or a Buddha.

However, some freshmen were a little disappointed, because if they could team up with Xu Tianming, it would be no different from getting the special admission spot mentioned by their class teacher.

"teacher."

Xu Tianming raised his hand and stood up, saying:

"Teacher, please give this spot to someone else. I want to participate in the freshman assessment."

Upon hearing this, the freshmen in the classroom widened their eyes and burst into even louder noise.

"What's going on?"

"Does the class monitor not want a special recruitment spot?"

"Would the special admission spot even be useful to the class monitor? With the class monitor's abilities, he could easily advance without the special admission spot, and might even win the championship directly!"

"Yes, the class monitor's abilities don't warrant this spot."

"You idiots! The teacher gave this spot to the class monitor because, on the one hand, the class monitor deserves it, and on the other hand, it's for our own good! Do you want to run into the class monitor during the freshman assessment?!"

The freshmen in the classroom chattered amongst themselves, glancing every now and then at the podium and Xu Tianming's seat.

The freshmen in other classes may not know, but the students in their class really don't want to run into Xu Tianming during the freshman assessment.

If you really run into someone, admitting defeat might be the most dignified choice.

"Quiet!"

Zi Ling tapped on the podium, the sound echoing in the classroom.

The freshmen immediately quieted down.

Although their homeroom teacher was a new teacher, he had already established his authority in their hearts during the usual battle spirit classes.

She's easy to talk to when she's usually laughing and joking, but once she gets serious, few in the class dare to mess with her.

Well, except for the class monitor.

Zi Ling looked at Xu Tianming, her brows furrowing slightly.

"Please sit down. We'll discuss the special admissions in my office later. Now, let me tell you about the other people's group assignments..."

Xu Tianming nodded, said nothing, and sat back down.

Normally, it would be better to pass the assessment directly without having to play round after round of competitions.

But this is not the case for Xu Tianming.

He needs a resume, or more precisely, he needs to build his reputation through the freshman assessment!

Moreover, the champion of the freshman assessment receives a generous reward. With his ability, he is fully capable of winning the championship, so why not take it?

Soon, Zi Ling explained the group assignments for the entire class.

As a first-time teacher and homeroom teacher, she cared deeply for her students, analyzing their martial spirits and soul power to create the most suitable groups.

Of course, this is not the final grouping result, since Zi Ling doesn't know what these students are thinking.

She wouldn't know if she had any conflicts with anyone or made any promises to others.

"Alright, that's the group assignment I've given you. If anyone has any objections, come to my office before class tomorrow morning. Now go back and get some rest and recharge! get out of class dismissed!"

After saying that, Zi Ling glanced at Xu Tianming and gestured for him to come to her office.

Xu Tianming got up and followed.

What are you thinking?

Inside the office, Zi Ling sat in a chair, crossed her legs, and looked at Xu Tianming.

"Your abilities certainly mean you don't need to worry about the freshman assessment, but wouldn't it be better to pass it directly?"

Xu Tianming said in a deep voice, "This is my first assessment since entering Shrek Academy, and I don't want to skip it. Besides..."

He looked up at Zi Ling and continued, "I heard the prize for the champion of the freshman assessment is very generous..."

Upon hearing this, Zi Ling was taken aback, then suddenly realized what was going on.

"So, you were only after the freshman assessment rewards, huh!"

She smiled and said, "That's something I overlooked. The rewards for the freshman assessment are among the most generous in the outer academy's assessments. With your abilities, you should be able to win them. But, who would you like to team up with?"

Xu Tianming thought for a moment and said, "Since there's one person left over after the class completes the three-person teams, I'll form a team by myself. I'm confident I can win the championship even alone!"
