My Perfect Immortal Cultivation Life

Day 7 of beginner's journey.

After a week of arduous travel, Li Yu finally went to the academy to attend classes and cultivate his spiritual practice.

"You're really carefree! You haven't come to the academy for so many days. Have you given up on yourself?"

As soon as she sat down, Chou Tzu-yu struck up a conversation with Li Yu.

Seeing her radiant and eager expression, Li Yu sighed and followed up, saying, "What's wrong? Have you made some progress?"

"Hmph, absolutely!" Zhou Ziyu's eyes gleamed with excitement. "One week! Just one week! This genius girl has mastered the simplified Qi Refining Method! Now I can fully utilize its effects to purify spiritual energy!"

"Congratulations." Li Yu smiled politely, but this displeased Zhou Ziyu.

"What's wrong with you? Why do you look so nonchalant? Did my genius skills discourage you? Li Yu, it's alright. Although your progress is definitely not as fast as mine, don't be discouraged."

Li Yu shrugged, unsure what to say.

Could it be that I mastered the Qi Refining Technique on my very first day here, and have already killed a person at the Great Perfection of the First Realm this week?

Li Yu stopped being distracted and began to study his gains for the week.

First, there are contribution points.

Qiu Xu received the 3000 points reward from Zuixianlou, as well as Wang Bozhou's two spirit steeds. According to Qiu Xu, ever since the Wang family learned of Qiu Xu's identity, they didn't dare to delay and immediately placed their bets with him.

Although the profit split was initially agreed to be 50/50, Qiu Xu still left all 3000 contribution points from the Drunken Immortal Pavilion to Li Yu. Adding the spirit steed, this means Li Yu actually reaped a staggering 6000 contribution points from this trip to the Drunken Immortal Pavilion!

Li Yu now has over 6600 contribution points, a considerable sum. If all of them are refined into an unmodified lightning-attracting array, it can attract lightning 66 times consecutively.

If Li Yu were to encounter a body cultivator like Wei Lei, who had reached the first stage of perfection, he wouldn't need to struggle at all. He could simply overpower him with sheer force and electrocute him to death.

We don't need to worry about contribution points for now; all that's left is experience points.

Qin Shufan left him some pills and 32,000 experience points to spend.

Li Yu took out the Earth-grade Profound Flow Refining Qi Method that he had obtained.

"If there are lectures to explain this kind of Qi cultivation method, Linglong Daoxin will be able to comprehend it much faster."

Take, for example, Li Yu's Xuan-level Qi Refining Technique.

With instruction and guidance, he could grasp the essence in just one day. But without instruction, it would probably take him two whole days.

Earth-level Qi Refining Techniques are more difficult than Profound-level ones, often taking disciples of the Earth Academy several months to master. With the help of his Exquisite Dao Heart, Li Yu naturally doesn't need to take that long.

"Linglong, analyze this technique."

Linglong: "Okay! Let me see!"

After a while, Linglong said, "This Qi Refining Method is a bit more difficult than the previous ones. With instruction, it takes fifty cycles to master. Without instruction, it takes about seventy cycles."

Li Yu: "That's not much. If you practice ten cycles a day like before, you'll finish in a week."

This is the second thing.

There was a third thing. Li Yu opened the Qiankun bag and looked inside at the replica of the Dragon Ruler for Fixing Pulse, the key to the Xuanbo Sect, and the mysterious item he had obtained from the Drunken Immortal Pavilion.

Based on Linglong's initial assessment, this is a map.

"How many more days will it take to analyze this map?"

Linglong: "I think I have about three more days. Give me three more days and I'm sure I can crack it!"

"Um……"

Li Yu was very satisfied with Linglong's dedication and hard work, which lasted 24 hours a day. With Linglong around, many of his troubles could be easily resolved.

Li Yu stopped thinking about it and began to cultivate this Earth-level Qi Refining Technique.

[It has been detected that you are learning the Profound Flow Qi Refining Method (Low-Grade Earth), which conflicts with the Simple Qi Refining Method. Would you like to change it?]

The system displayed a notification.

In the game, a player at a certain realm can only practice one basic cultivation technique. Different techniques are mutually exclusive, and it's impossible to master both simultaneously.

Li Yu chose "yes" without hesitation.

Similar to the last time, Li Yu followed the guidance of the Exquisite Dao Heart and began to cultivate this Earth-level Qi Refining Technique.

Feeling the spiritual energy enveloping him, Li Yu gradually guided the inhaled spiritual energy along the meridians of the cultivation technique, flowing throughout his body. Compared to the Xuan-level cultivation technique, the Di-level technique involves more meridians. About five of these meridians are even blocked, requiring Li Yu to clear them himself.

Unblocking the meridians is a feeling that is both itchy and numb; he wished he could cut open the flesh and stick his finger inside to scratch the itch.

However, this pain was something he had to go through, and even the exquisite Dao Heart couldn't help him alleviate it.

More than half an hour later.

Li Yu opened his eyes, a white mist filling them, which slowly dissipated after a few breaths.

[Flowing Qi Refining Technique (Low-grade Earth Level), Current Proficiency: 5%]

"The Earth-level Qi Refining Technique takes a little longer to complete one cycle than the Profound-level one. So, it seems the plan of completing ten cycles a day needs to be revised."

Li Yu doesn't feel any urgency regarding cultivation at the moment.

After all, the task only requires spending those 32,000 experience points within a month, which is more than enough at the current pace.

Just then, Zhou Ziyu, who was standing nearby, saw that Li Yu had finished his cultivation and came over to talk to him.

"Li Yu, you are Qin Shengnu's junior brother, don't you have any desire to strive for advancement?"

Li Yu thought about it carefully: "It seems there really isn't one."

Zhou Ziyu was somewhat disappointed: "That's a pity. I'm sure I'll win the promotion competition next week. I plan to challenge the people from the Earth Academy directly, since only disciples from the Earth Academy and above can enter the Spirit Tower."

"I'm about to achieve enlightenment soon, and it's said that the array inside the Spirit Tower can alleviate the pain during that process."

Li Yu hadn't been listening carefully to what she was saying, as he was preparing to complete another cycle of Qi cultivation.

But suddenly he caught a word.

ease?

pain?

A spirit tower can alleviate the pain during the opening of energy channels? Is there really such a good thing?

Li Yu's eyes widened; this was indeed unexpected. In his previous life, when playing games, the pain level of players was always reduced, and players could even pay to turn it off, so he had never paid attention to such things.

But when he thought of the last time he tried to open the nine orifices, he was tormented to the point of near death and ended up paralyzed in bed from the pain, and he couldn't help but shudder.

No... I don't want to go through that again.

I thought this kind of pain was unavoidable, but now you're telling me it can be relieved?

Li Yu's eyes lit up, and he asked, "Tell me in detail, what exactly is this promotion competition? How is it conducted? Is it a direct fight?"
