Many children, many blessings: Helping classmates' mothers survive the apocalypse

Chapter 22: Carrying the Neighbor Aunt Mei Up to the 6th Floor

Faced with this sudden turn of events, the sinister smiles on the faces of the remaining two thugs with red ribbons completely froze.

Their eyes nearly popped out as they stared at the twisted corpse on the ground, then at Lin Feng as he slowly straightened up.

"run!"

One of the thugs was the first to react and turned to rush out the door.

"Since we're already here, why run away?"

Lin Feng's voice was cold and devoid of warmth.

He pushed off with his feet and his figure darted out like a ghost.

That terrifying speed was beyond the comprehension of ordinary people.

In the blink of an eye, he caught up with the fleeing thug, his right fist carrying terrifying power, striking precisely in the back of the man's heart.

"Bang!"

A dull thud resounded.

The thug's back was visibly dented.

He lurched forward a few steps, bumped into the door frame, slid softly to the ground, and didn't move again.

The last thug was so frightened that he wet himself.

His legs buckled and he knelt on the ground, the machete in his hand clattering to the ground.

"Big brother, spare me... I was forced..."

Lin Feng strode forward, and before he could finish speaking, he stomped hard on his throat.

"Click."

The throat bone was fractured.

The thug twitched twice and then fell completely still.

The whole process took less than five seconds.

Three lives lost, clean and efficient.

After dealing with those scoundrels, Lin Feng turned around.

He wrapped his arms around Zhou Lan's back and hugged his neighbor, Aunt Mei, tightly.

"Aunt Lan, don't be afraid, I'm here."

His voice was steady and powerful, filled with confidence.

"With me here, no one will be able to touch a single hair on your head again."

Hearing Lin Feng's confident promise, Zhou Lan nodded with relief.

Her voluptuous, soft, mature body pressed tightly against him, and the emotions that had been building up finally erupted, her tears soaking Lin Feng's clothes.

Lin Feng gently patted her slender back twice, constantly soothing the frightened neighbor, Aunt Mei, with soft words.

After calming down a bit, Zhou Lan took a half step back from Lin Feng's embrace.

She glanced casually at the corpses on the ground, her gaze falling on the red cloth strips tied around their arms, and her face suddenly turned deathly pale.

"Xiaofeng..."

Zhou Lan grabbed Lin Feng's arm, her voice tight.

"They...they are people from Building Seven."

Lin Feng frowned slightly: "Building Seven?"

"right."

Zhou Lan swallowed hard and pointed at the red ribbon.

"I saw it from my window last night. The property manager of Building 7 gathered a group of security guards and thugs and looted all the supplies in the building."

"Their arms were all wrapped in these red ribbons, and... they had guns."

Lin Feng followed her gaze to the door, where he could hear hurried footsteps coming from the depths of the corridor.

"These people are just scouts."

Zhou Lan's voice trembled violently.

The crisp metallic clanging of bullets being chambered echoed from the stairwell.

The footsteps in the hallway grew closer, mixed with rough laughter and the dull thuds of metal clashing.

Lin Feng's spatial perception spread out instantly.

On the radar image, six red dots are moving upwards from the first-floor fire escape.

They weren't moving fast, but their formation was spread out, as if they were scavenging layer by layer.

Everyone had that glaring red cloth strip tied around their body.

Within the outlines of two of the light spots, there are clearly visible metallic objects—guns.

Lin Feng withdrew his senses and glanced at the three corpses and broken glass scattered on the living room floor.

This place is uninhabitable; the smell of blood will attract zombies, and the gunshots will attract even more thugs.

He wasn't afraid of the two guns; with his intermediate-level telekinesis, dealing with these bastards would be quite easy.

But Lin Feng glanced at Zhou Lan beside him.

Her face was deathly pale, and her lips trembled slightly.

She was a full-time housewife and had never seen anything like it before.

Let's send her up first.

"Aunt Lan, please pack your things quickly and come with me."

"Where to?" Zhou Lan asked instinctively.

"The sixteenth floor, my place."

Lin Feng paused for a moment, his tone calm.

"You go upstairs and wait there. I'll deal with these people later."

Zhou Lan suddenly looked up at him: "You're alone? They have guns!"

"I know, don't worry."

Lin Feng didn't offer any further explanation.

Some things, when said aloud, sound like bragging.

She'll understand when she sees it for herself.

Zhou Lan did not hesitate.

She quickly ran into the bedroom, picked up a cloth bag containing a few changes of clothes and a small first-aid kit.

She moved quickly, showing that she had been preparing to escape at any moment for the past few days.

Lin Feng walked to the door and listened for two seconds.

The footsteps had reached the corner on the second floor, and the third floor was only a dozen seconds away.

Using the fire escape is no longer an option.

"balcony."

Zhou Lan was stunned for a moment: "What?"

Lin Feng didn't explain, but pulled her to the balcony where the glass was shattered all over the floor.

He leaned out and glanced at the exterior wall, from the third floor to the sixteenth floor, a vertical height of thirteen floors.

Coming down is easy, but going up can't be done the same way:

He can climb it alone, but he can't do it with Zhou Lan.

But he had another path.

Next to the drainage pipe on the right side of the balcony, there is a metal fire ladder that extends along the exterior wall.

Before the apocalypse, this thing was just for show and no one ever used it, but the welds were still quite solid.

"Aunt Lan, hold on tight to me."

Lin Feng squatted down, his back to Zhou Lan.

Zhou Lan looked at his broad back, opened her mouth as if to say that it was too dangerous.

But those words, once on the tip of his tongue, were swallowed back down.

She gritted her teeth, slung the cloth bag over her shoulder, wrapped her arms around Lin Feng's neck, and leaned on him.

Her voluptuous, soft body pressed tightly against Lin Feng's back, her face buried in the crook of his neck, where she could smell the male hormones emanating from him, a mixture of sweat and blood.

My heart started beating even faster than usual.

Lin Feng supported Zhou Lan's legs with both hands, jumped up, and firmly grabbed the first horizontal bar of the fire ladder.

The fire escape ladder creaked and groaned, but it still managed to support the weight of the two people.

Lin Feng began to climb.

Even while carrying an adult woman on his back, his climbing speed was still terrifyingly fast.

The muscles in the arms contract and relax, precisely finding the optimal point of force with each movement.

The body rose at a steady pace, without even losing its rhythm.

The wind is getting stronger.

Zhou Lan kept her eyes tightly shut, not daring to look down.

Her arms tightened around Lin Feng's neck, and all she could hear was the sound of the wind, the vibration of the metal fire escape ladder, and Lin Feng's steady, powerful breathing.

Eighth floor, tenth floor, twelfth floor.

A loud shout suddenly came from below: "There are people on the third floor! Damn it, the brothers have been killed!"

This was followed by a chaotic shouting and footsteps.

Lin Feng didn't turn around, but sped up.

The fourteenth and fifteenth floors.

The rioters rushed to the balcony, and one of them, with sharp eyes, suddenly looked up and saw a dark figure climbing above.

"There! Up there! Someone climbed up!"

He grabbed a homemade short-barreled shotgun, leaned half his body out, and aimed the muzzle at the fire ladder diagonally above him.
