Legendary Captain
Chapter 88 Stepping Forward
The passenger announcement was repeated three times. Xu Xian wiped his face to clear his head. He sat up slightly and looked around the cabin to see if anyone had raised their hand.
After looking around, it turned out that no one seemed to have called for a flight attendant.
Xu Xian hesitated for a long time; he wasn't really keen on meddling. However, if a dangerous situation arose and the flight crew needed help, wouldn't his self-preservation be irresponsible towards his own safety?
"I should ask what's going on first. If it's nothing serious, I shouldn't get involved." Xu Xian made up his mind and pressed the flight attendant call button.
A short while later, a flight attendant rushed over to Xu Xian's side: "Sir, is there anything I can help you with?"
"What did you need someone with a pilot's license for?" Xu Xian asked. "Is there a problem with the plane or the crew?"
"Sir, our plane is absolutely safe, please rest assured." The flight attendant can't exactly say the co-pilot is incapacitated, they have to say the plane is fine. Otherwise, what if it causes panic among the passengers?
As an industry insider, Xu Xian knew that the flight attendant was just saying that to politely ask questions and shouldn't be taken seriously.
Xu Xian: "I have a license, and I just want to hear the truth."
There was no one next to Xu Xian. If he lowered his voice, he could limit the sound to the space between himself and the flight attendant.
"Which company are you with?" The flight attendant's eyes lit up. "What type of aircraft do you fly?"
"No... I just want to know what happened." Xu Xian felt that the flight attendant hadn't grasped the unspoken meaning behind his detached attitude.
The flight attendant maintained her usual indifferent attitude, completely ignoring Xu Xian's words, and instead asked, "Sir, do you have your identification?"
Well! Completely ignoring his own question, he was completely absorbed in his own rhythm.
Looking into the flight attendant's bright eyes, Xu Xian sighed helplessly, "I did bring my documents, but..."
Xu Xian originally wanted to say, "I brought my ID, but I don't want to get involved!"
However, Xu Xian's wish to remain uninvolved was impossible, as the flight attendant directly urged him, "Sir... could you please show us your documents so we can go to the front cabin to check?"
"I... never mind, I'll go get my suitcase, my documents are all in there." The flight attendant really spoke for him, leaving him no choice. Xu Xian could only be dragged along.
Xu Xian got up and rummaged through his flight case on the overhead rack. Since this was an overnight flight, he stuffed some changes of clothes and documents into the case.
The flight attendant's eyes lit up when she saw Xu Xian take down the flight case. While flight cases vary slightly between airlines, the styles are generally similar. Experienced flight attendants can easily recognize a pilot's case at a glance.
I was really lucky to run into a pilot.
His boarding pass, pilot's license, and medical certificate were tucked into a small pouch inside his flight case. Xu Xian's outstretched hand suddenly froze in mid-air. He turned to the flight attendant and asked, "Do you need my license or my boarding pass?"
The flight attendant hesitated for a moment: "How about... you bring them all over?"
Xu Xian sighed. He shouldn't have asked; he'd really gotten himself into trouble. From what Xu Xian had observed since they met, the flight attendant didn't seem flustered at all.
It wasn't a feigned calmness, but a natural, heartfelt feeling that there was no problem.
What could possibly require finding another pilot, yet the flight attendants seem so calm and unhurried? It seems contradictory! Or are the flight attendants of Kunlong Airlines so highly competent that they remain unfazed even if Mount Tai collapses before them?
Whatever the reason, it aroused Xu Xian's curiosity!
After taking his boarding pass and pilot's license, Xu Xian packed his suitcase and put it away, then followed the flight attendant to the front cabin.
Stepping through the business class and pulling back the curtain to the first-class cabin, it felt like stepping into a completely different world.
It wasn't that first class had significantly more facilities or space than business class, but rather that the moment Xu Xian entered first class, all four pairs of eyes—three flight attendants and one security officer—immediately focused on him. This gave Xu Xian the feeling of being subjected to a three-way interrogation.
Especially those who looked older, like the flight attendant, made Xu Xian feel like his heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys were about to rupture.
Xu Xian felt quite uncomfortable being stared at by so many people, and he slowed his pace. Suddenly, a weak groan came from beside him. He turned his head towards the sound and his body tensed. A person dressed in passenger attire looked sickly and was slumped in the seat, his head slightly turned to one side.
Finding a half-dead person suddenly beside him was quite frightening. However, after a moment, Xu Xian calmed down and frowned, saying, "The crew?"
"That's right!" The flight attendant stepped forward and answered Xu Xian's question.
The flight attendant who had just greeted Xu Xian whispered a few words to the purser. The purser nodded and said in as friendly a tone as possible, "Sir, if you don't mind, could you please let me see your identification?"
Xu Xian hesitated for a moment, but still handed his boarding pass and flight license to the chief flight attendant.
The flight attendant took Xu Xian's ID, carefully examined it, and asked with some doubt, "From Xingyou?"
The boarding pass has a two-letter code for the airline preceding the individual's personal code. The flight attendant recognized the two-letter code for Star Travel Airlines, which is why she guessed that Xu Xian worked for Star Travel Airlines.
"Hmm!" Xu Xian nodded.
"Boeing?" the flight attendant continued to ask.
Xu Xian nodded again.
The flight attendant laughed and said, "That's quite a coincidence! To run into a pilot on the same type of aircraft." After saying that, she handed the documents back to Xu Xian.
"As you can see, our co-pilot is experiencing a slight health issue and we need you to come into the cockpit to take over. Would you be willing to do so?" The flight attendant finally revealed her purpose.
Xu Xian gave a wry smile: "We've come this far, it doesn't seem like the right time to turn back!"
The flight attendant smiled knowingly, glared at the previous flight attendant, and then approached Xu Xian: "Sir, our captain for this flight has a rather eccentric temperament. Please bear with him!"
