NBA: A collection of super busts
Chapter 11: A poor shooting form only makes the opponent more desperate.
West sat in the stands, thinking and recalling, trying to find out which players in the NBA possessed both top-level lower body strength and top-level jumping ability.
Then, a terrifying name appeared in his mind.
Shaquille O'Neal!
That kid.....
West suddenly felt as if he had discovered a completely different perspective.
On the field, the game continued, but Marquette had already gained a significant advantage.
Wade could use his body to withstand Bogans's attacks, forcing him to break through from the left. When he came to the paint, Ye Feng always managed to block his shooting space, making his shots quite difficult.
Of course, Bogans also had helpers.
The most exciting moment of the entire first half came from Bogans's helper.
After realizing he couldn't shake off Wade one-on-one, he called for a screen, hoping to break through Marquette's defense with a pick-and-roll.
But the moment he executed his first pick-and-roll play of the night, Ye Feng fearlessly charged towards this top-tier star, shouting, "No trade!"
Next, Ye Feng opened his arms, lowered his center of gravity, and judged and followed Bogans's steps.
No matter how hard Bogans tried, Ye Feng always remained in front of him, completely shielding him.
Just as Bogans finally found an opportunity to drive to the basket after dribbling continuously, his layup attempt was slapped onto the backboard by Ye Feng, who arrived shortly after.
What excited Minnesota fans even more was that after that block, Ye Feng accelerated wildly and charged towards the frontcourt with the rest of the team.
Then Wade threw the ball into the air again, and Ye Feng glided and jumped up once more. After catching the basketball with one hand, his body suddenly paused in mid-air. Then he pulled his body into a reverse arch with all his might and then burst out with all his strength to slam the ball into the basket!
"Incredible speed and incredible energy," West continued writing in his notebook.
Meanwhile, tens of thousands of fans inside the Minnesota Arena went completely wild, unleashing their passion, shouting, cheering, and calling out Ye Feng's name.
This place was already Marquette's semi-home ground, but now it has completely become their backyard. The mere few dozen Kentucky supporters are like a lone boat in a raging storm, teetering on the brink of collapse and in a miserable state.
40: 28!
At the end of the first half, Marquette University had a 12-point lead.
With Coach Crane's strategy and the formidable talent of Ye Feng and Wade, they completely shut down Bogans.
If it weren't for the team's starting point guard, Fitch, hitting two three-pointers at the end of the first half, Kentucky might already be down by 20 points.
West glanced at his watch and then strolled out of the stadium. He had seen enough of what he wanted to see, and he was too lazy to watch the rest of the game bit by bit. He decided to go out and relieve himself before continuing.
He's getting old, and he's finding it harder to handle a party with tens of thousands of people.
"Jerry!" Just as West came out of the bathroom, ready to find a place to stay for a while, an annoying voice came again.
"I told you you had your eye on that kid!" Dumars's smile was just as irritating as it was more than a decade ago when they faced the Lakers in the Finals: "Have you secured the draft pick yet? Or are you planning to pick him even if you get the number one pick?"
Dumas didn't explicitly say who "he" was; he was observing West's expression, trying to discern from it who the old man wanted to choose.
Despite being enemies, Dumas had absolute faith in West's judgment!
This guy, as general manager, is a monster who single-handedly built two dynasties!
"Bogans? He's definitely not going to be the number one pick, and his performance in the first half was terrible. If I could, I'd give him a training camp contract."
"Dishonesty," Dumas shook his head. "Jerry, dishonesty will send you to hell."
"I'll be waiting for you there." West shrugged. "You certainly won't keep me waiting too long, right?"
After saying that, West was too lazy to waste any more words with this guy he had always disliked. He turned around and walked back to the arena, wanting to continue watching the game.
When he returned to the arena, he was surprised to find that Kentucky had launched a counterattack in the second half. At this point, 5 minutes and 31 seconds into the second half, the gap between the two sides was only 7 points.
A middle-aged man immediately came over. He was a scout for the Grizzlies, and it was because of him that West felt safe to go out for a stroll without worrying about missing any exciting moments.
"Hayes guarded the paint; he was like a hill under the basket, and Wade couldn't get over him at all. His shooting was really bad, and he wasn't confident in his shooting either. After missing one shot, he started passing the ball more. But Diner also had a terrible night."
"So Kentucky successfully closed the gap."
"Where's Ye?" West didn't need to hide his purpose from his own people.
"His presence wasn't strong. If Wade's drives and passes didn't come through, he still lacked some independent offensive ability. He tried to attack the rim once, but Hayes blocked him and he couldn't succeed."
West nodded but didn't say much, but he knew very well that on the basketball court, technique was always the easiest thing to learn.
Talent, however, cannot be cultivated.
On the court, Marquette University launched another attack, with Wade still holding the ball at the top of the arc and running a pick-and-roll with Ye Feng.
But this time, Marquette's pick-and-roll tactics have clearly changed.
Ye Feng no longer charged directly into the paint like a wild beast, but stopped outside the three-second zone.
Wade was once again blocked by Hayes' help defense, making it difficult for him to directly attack the basket. So he immediately passed the ball to Ye Feng.
After receiving the ball, Ye Feng once again adopted his shooting posture, which West described as being cursed by Satan.
The Type 96 machine gun opened fire again.
"Whoosh!"
With a crisp sound, Marquette widened the gap once again.
In a sense, the uglier Ye Feng's shooting form was, the greater the blow this shot dealt to Kentucky.
For example, if you "Flash" yourself while spending the night with Monica Bellucci, it's not shameful; you can say, "Baby, you're so sexy."
If you tell your friends about this, they won't laugh at you; they'll even comfort you.
But if it's Sister Yu, let alone the Flash, it would be a disgrace if the pointer pointed to anything above eight o'clock.
If you tell your friends that you pointed the pointer above 8 o'clock to Sister Yu, you'll never be able to hold your head up high again.
Ye Feng's crooked shot was an insult to Kentucky.
