NBA: A collection of super busts

Chapter 18: Psychological Warfare Showdown! Trash Talk Fills the Air

"You mean they all think Ford and Texas should be in the Finals?" Carmelo Anthony, the Cornwall kid from Syracuse University, looked annoyed. "They won't get their wish! Ford will definitely fall in the Final Four! They want to prove themselves and get revenge."

"Next semester."

"That freshman can't even tell the difference between semesters," the white teenager, Hinrich, said dismissively. "It's next academic year, not next semester. But it doesn't matter. I heard Wade said he's going to teach Ford a lesson?"

"Please tell Wade for me that he doesn't need to be bothered anymore. He's about to play his last game as a junior, and then he can pack his bags and go home. Their season is over!"

"We'll make it to the finals!"

After Wade unleashed his fury on the media, Ye Feng naturally accepted interviews as well. At this point, the tension in the final four was at a breaking point, ready to explode at any moment.

Reporters naturally flocked to the scene, eager to get some firsthand information, making the upcoming semi-finals even more exciting and the atmosphere between the players even more tense.

"I have nothing to say," Ye Feng said. "Let Texas or Syracuse get their asses cleaned up and wait, we'll crush them!"

"It doesn't matter who it is, I don't care at all who makes it to the finals. We'll all be champions in the end!"

"Why? Is it because you don't want to educate Ford? Don't you want to prove that Ford doesn't deserve the awards he's received? We've noticed that everyone else is eager to beat Texas and Ford."

"If he's so bad at handling a mere freshman, then I have nothing to say to him. He doesn't deserve it! He doesn't even have the right to lose to us."

"If the so-called greatest freshman in history can't handle a country team that's never seen the world and has never played in the finals, then Anthony's nickname is pretty funny."

The reporters quickly jotted down Ye Feng's trash talk while continuing to ask, "What about Kansas? Judging from your tone, it seems you don't take them seriously at all?"

"Kansas?" Ye Feng scratched his head, as if he had finally remembered that they hadn't made it to the finals yet. "Sorry, I forgot. It's not that I completely disregarded them, or that I didn't consider them opponents."

"I just forgot, because we've been watching Syracuse and Texas game tapes for the past few days, so I got it wrong. I thought we had already made it to the finals."

How arrogant!

The reporters listened while shaking their heads.

Forgotten? Accidentally?

Nobody would believe you!

Even the lowest-ranking slime wouldn't believe your nonsense.

You are clearly provoking me!

Meanwhile, reporters also noticed that when the key players of other teams stirred up trouble, it was usually directed at one team, and at most, they might accidentally splash some trouble onto other teams.

But this Ye Feng, he directly swayed the entire field!

"So, what else do you have to say about this year's final four? Or, do you have any suggestions or expectations?"

"I'm looking forward to the format change. A knockout tournament with only four teams is a bit boring," Ye Feng continued without hesitation. "It would be much better if it were a round-robin tournament format."

"That way, we can crush three teams, hold our heads high, and lift the final championship trophy with perfect satisfaction!"

At this point, there's really nothing more to say.

Ye Feng's words were enough for the reporters to relay to the other three schools, and then be passed on repeatedly until the competition began!

That same evening, reporters indeed cornered Anthony, Ford, and Hinrich, asking them for their opinions on Ye Feng's words.

This time, the three guys showed an unusual level of teamwork.

"Let that kid wash himself clean and wait! See you on the field!"

Then, the reporters found Ye Feng.

Ye Feng's answer was simpler and more direct: "Kansas, see you tomorrow. The good news is that they can temporarily disband after the game tomorrow."

"Of course, if they don't want to go home, I can give them free tickets to the finals. Let them sit in the front row and watch us win the championship, how we teach Texas, or Syracuse, I don't care who it is."

"But if I were to give them advice, I would suggest they lose as soon as possible. After all, if they make it to the final, they'll be humiliated by us, so it's better to lose early and have a day off sooner."

At this point, the rivalry between the four teams had become so intense that it had become a tangible force. The players on the four teams hated and loathed each other, and they all wanted to crush the other team and become the champion!

Time flew by, and the day of the semi-finals arrived!

The first match to start was Syracuse University vs. Texas!

The entire Kansas team came to the stadium for this game and sat in an area reserved for them by the organizers. They were there to study and observe their next opponent.

Many cameras were pointed at them, all eagerly anticipating the arrival of Marquette University.

Both the broadcasters and the photographers on site were eagerly anticipating Marquette's arrival.

They all knew how intense the rivalry was between the four schools, and how much these people wanted to tear each other apart. So everyone was looking forward to seeing some scenes of on-site brawls, staring at each other from afar, and everyone showing their own unique personality, so that fans and reporters could discuss, analyze, and study them.

Unfortunately, no Marquette players appeared on the field until the match started.

They were all sitting in a temporary meeting room not far from the stadium, and the same game was playing on the television in the meeting room.

They didn't go, of course, not because the organizers wouldn't give them tickets.

"Despise your opponent strategically, but take them seriously tactically." Before the match started, Klein repeated these words that Ye Feng had told him, and he thought they made a lot of sense! It was precisely because of this that he followed Ye Feng's advice and rented a meeting room instead of letting the team go to the stadium to watch the game.

Maintaining secrecy before the match and not appearing in front of the opponent can irritate and exacerbate their anxiety.

By the time we get to the third stage of Madness, this kind of psychological warfare has become indispensable.

The trash talk that players give to their opponents in the two days before the game is also part of the psychological warfare. All four sides hope to gain the upper hand!

Whether it's public opinion, momentum, or mindset.

Now is the time to test the effectiveness of the pre-match psychological warfare!

At the start of the match, Syracuse launched a fierce attack!

In the early stages, they did not focus their attack on Anthony, but instead let their starting guard McNamara attack first. This obviously took Texas by surprise, and McNamara scored repeatedly. In the first 3 minutes, Syracuse took the lead with a 9-2 run!
