Chapter 150 Derek's Revenge
"Do you think Count Vio might become a count in our Western Territory someday?"
"His Majesty the King wouldn't agree, would he? Perhaps we should ask, after the pirates are dealt with, do you think the King will...?"
"Hey you over there! What are you talking about?!"
In the western port of Frido, two trainee militiamen were chatting when the militia captain, who was patrolling from above, spotted them and reprimanded them sternly.
The two militiamen had no choice but to lower their heads obediently and dare not speak again.
The militia captain also sighed, his serious expression softening slightly, a sense of helplessness creeping into his heart.
He knew very well that these new militiamen from the West Frontier still found it difficult to accept an outer-border earl, perhaps out of fear of the king, or perhaps out of an inherent sense of rejection.
The militia captain looked up, his expression suddenly changed, and his eyes widened.
His eyes were filled with fear!
"Hey! You two!"
"Captain! We didn't..."
"Shut up!" The militia captain roared without hesitation, "Go and inform the other captains! Tell them it's Derek's warship! The pirates' warship is here!"
Upon hearing this, the new militiamen of the Western Frontier reacted and looked out at the sea. On the horizon, at least fifteen warships were heading in their direction!
The militia captain also rang the alarm, and immediately, the entire dock became somewhat chaotic.
Frido Port, Frido Stone Tower.
Vio was looking at the Western Sea Chart on the table, his gaze lingering on the location of the Port of Soldato.
Just then, hurried footsteps came from outside the door, followed by the sound of Vincent pushing the door open and entering.
"My lord! Derek's fleet has arrived!"
Vio raised his head, his brows furrowed slightly.
"How many?"
"At least fifteen warships are heading at full speed towards Frido Port!"
Vio stood up, walked to the window, and pushed it open. The sea breeze rushed in, carrying a fishy smell. Sure enough, on the distant horizon, a dark mass of ships could be seen, braving the waves and approaching them.
"Pass down the order." His voice was calm and composed, without the slightest hint of panic. "Summon the old militia of the Southern Territory and the Knights of the Azure Peak. Have Axel lead the Black Pearl pirates to prepare for boarding action."
"Yes, sir!"
Vincent turned and left, his footsteps echoing down the corridor.
Vio watched the approaching fleet, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Derek... what are you planning to do this time?"
…………
Frido Port docks.
With the alarm bells ringing, the initially chaotic scene was quickly brought under control.
Squads of veteran militiamen from the southern border, dressed in uniform leather armor, poured out from all directions and quickly took up advantageous positions.
They were all veterans who had followed Vio since the time of the bandits in the Southern Territory. They had experienced real battles, and their eyes were steady and their movements were decisive.
The Knights of the Azure Peak also arrived from their various encampments. Two hundred knights lined up at the dock, swords and shields in hand, their armor gleaming coldly in the sunlight.
Jimmy stood at the front of the ship, gripping his weapon, his eyes fixed on the sea.
On the sea, Derek's fleet was getting closer and closer.
Fifteen warships stood in a row, their prows filled with armed pirates who roared and brandished scimitars and axes, their morale high.
"Ballista, prepare!" Axel shouted from atop the Black Pearl.
"put!"
Boom——!
The crossbow bolts whistled out, slicing through the sea.
One of the pirate ships at the forefront was hit, its hull shook violently, splinters flew everywhere, and several pirates screamed as they fell into the sea.
If you could only read one fantasy novel in your life, it would probably be "Lord: I Can See Loyalty".
But even more ships rushed in.
"Board combat!" Jimmy drew his longsword. "Knights, prepare!"
The two warships collided with a deafening roar, planks were laid on top, and the pirates swarmed aboard, only to be met with the blades of the old militiamen of the Southern Territory and the knights of the Azure Peak.
The battle instantly intensified.
As before, the knights almost completely overwhelmed the pirates.
The power boost from the Serpent Eagle Sword Technique made every strike incredibly powerful. The pirate's scimitar barely left a mark on the knight's armor, while the knight's longsword cleaved the pirate in two, weapon and all.
"kill!"
Jimmy charged at the forefront, and wherever his sword flashed, pirates fell one after another. The knights behind him worked in perfect coordination, in groups of two or three, providing cover for each other, and slaying the pirates who rushed onto the deck one by one.
The veteran militiamen of the Southern Territory were equally formidable. Although their equipment was inferior to that of the knights, they were rich in combat experience. Their shields were tightly linked together, and their spears were thrust out in neat formations, repelling the pirates' attacks time and time again.
Derek stood on his largest warship, his face growing increasingly grim.
"Useless! What a bunch of useless trash!"
He gritted his teeth, watching his men being harvested like wheat by the knights of the Southern Territory.
Fifteen warships and eight hundred pirates were forced to retreat steadily by the enemy.
But he didn't panic. Instead, he turned around and glanced in the direction of the cabin.
"Sir, if this continues, our men won't be able to hold on!" Karl rushed to his side, his face full of anxiety.
"I know." Derek took a deep breath, then shouted, "Arnold! It's your turn!"
The cabin door was pushed open.
A massive, breathtaking figure emerged.
He was two heads taller than the average person, with broad shoulders and a thick back, and his whole body was bulging with muscles, like a giant bear walking upright.
He was covered in rough animal hides, and a huge battle axe hung at his waist, the blade still bearing traces of someone's blood.
He walked to the bow of the ship, his gaze sweeping across the battlefield, a hint of disappointment flashing in his bloodshot eyes.
"Just these enemies?"
His voice was hoarse and deep, yet like muffled thunder, it drowned out the shouts of battle on the battlefield.
Derek swallowed hard. "Arnold, if we kill that count, the entire Western and Southern Territories will be ours!"
Arnold grinned.
"I have no interest."
There was no kindness in that smile, only an almost morbid excitement, as it gazed in the direction of Port Friedow.
"Hopefully, those guys will give me some fun."
After saying that, he grabbed the giant axe and leaped into the air!
"boom!"
He landed on the deck of a warship in the southern border. The huge impact caused the ship to shake violently, and several militiamen lost their footing and fell to the ground.
Arnold stood up and swung his giant axe!
Blood splattered, and the three militiamen were instantly cut in half at the waist!
"Hahahaha!" He burst into laughter, the sound echoing across the battlefield. "Too weak! Too weak!"
……
On another warship, Vio was directing the battle when he suddenly noticed a warship that was completely different from the ones around him.
The ship was larger than Derek's other ships. It was black with no decorations, but it was well-made and had smooth lines, clearly in the style of the Northern Continent.
The people standing on the deck were also different from the Western Pirates; they wore thick fur robes, had large beards, and held huge battle axes and two-handed swords.
"That is..."
Vio squinted at the flag fluttering on the ship.
It was a black flag embroidered with patterns he had never seen before.
