Lord: I can see loyalty.

Chapter 34 Combat

"You are Vio, the Lord of Bordeaux...?"

Seeing the militiamen beside him pointing their guns at him again, Abad gripped his giant axe tightly and with a single horizontal slash, several gun tips flew off.

The militiamen couldn't withstand the terrifying force and collapsed to the ground.

Such pure numbers… Vio swallowed hard, drew his longsword from his waist, but his gaze fell on the militiamen groaning in pain on the ground.

Without exception, none of them lost their lives; however, the undefended parts of their bodies were covered in horrifying bruises.

The other party didn't kill him?

"That's right, you are... Wolf Fang Abad?" Vio waved his hand to signal the militiamen to retreat, and slowly raised the sword in his hand.

Abad was slightly surprised, a look of doubt appearing in his eyes, which bore a short scar: "You recognize me?"

Vio didn't answer again, but simply adjusted his posture and got into position before asking a question in return.

"Why did you come here? You didn't kill them?" he asked, his gaze turning once more to the wounded who had been dragged to the back.

Abad sneered, "I'm here to take your life. As for them? They'll submit to me sooner or later anyway, killing them would be a waste."

Gina silently stepped forward and placed her hand on the hilt of her sword, but was stopped by Vio just as she was about to go forward.

"Let me try," Vio said in a deep voice.

Abad's gaze swept over Gina, as if confirming something, before turning to Vio and uttering his final words: "You've got guts."

The next moment, a gust of wind pressure rushed towards him, and Vio quickly dodged to the side, but the distance he created was still not enough to avoid the opponent's giant axe!

"Damn it!"

Vio could only slightly raise his sword to meet the opponent's giant axe, but in that instant, he slightly adjusted the blade, deflecting the axe's direction.

Bang!

The giant axe landed, and the dust it kicked up immediately surrounded the two of them. This state only lasted for a moment before Abad's giant axe once again cleaved through the thick fog and slashed horizontally at Vio.

But this time Vio had more room to dodge, and with a slight jump, he created some distance.

Seeing that the opponent had not yet raised the giant axe, Vio was about to go forward to chase after him, but he quickly regretted his decision. Abad's giant axe, which had fallen to the ground, actually broke through the ground and rushed up from below!

Vio had no time to dodge the attack and could only take it head-on with his longsword. The result was obvious: he first felt a sharp pain in his palm, and then the longsword in his hand broke.

The massive impact sent Vio flying several meters away, which gave him a moment of relief, at least putting some distance between him and the monster.

But as Vio landed on the ground, before he could even stand up in pain, Abad grabbed the giant axe with both hands, leaped high from a distance, and smashed it down on him like a boulder!

We absolutely cannot block this attack again!

Vio knew exactly what force he could withstand; this blow would definitely split him in two.

With that thought in mind, he used the broken sword in his hand for support, plunged it into the ground, and rolled to the side with force.

Bang!

Another loud bang rang out, and Gina saw the perilous situation she had just faced. She drew her sword and stepped forward, but stopped just before getting close.

When the smoke cleared, Vio had stood up again, completely unharmed. The only difference was that he no longer had a weapon in his hand; the broken sword had been left behind because he hadn't had time to pull it out.

"Lord Vio!" Gina handed the sword to Vio, who took it in one swift motion.

Abad raised his giant axe, turned to look at Vio, and his eyes had changed.

This time, Vio took the initiative and was already in front of the enemy in a short time, giving him no chance to raise his axe. He quickly thrust out several swords.

The opponent dodged quickly, but was still stabbed in the shoulder by a sword. At this moment, he raised his giant axe again and smashed it down.

But Vio had anticipated this, and to Abad's astonishment, he leaped up and landed on Abad's giant axe, then swung his sword toward Abad's head!

Having no other choice, Abad quickly assessed the situation and could only throw away the giant axe in his hand and stomp backward.

Nevertheless, the longsword still grazed his forehead, leaving a bloody mark on his face.

Vio didn't hesitate. Now the situation had reversed, and the one without weapons was the other!

He took a step forward and swept a horizontal slash at his opponent, who could only jump back again, moving further away from his weapon.

call!call!call!

Vio increased his speed, and several barely visible sword flashes swept past, instantly causing several lines of blood to bloom on Abad's body. The final sword precisely pierced his heart.

"Swoosh!" Abad instinctively raised his hands to block the fatal blow, and then without hesitation, he charged up and jumped to the side.

Before Vio could pursue again, Abad did not stop, but continued to retreat, creating a safe distance.

Seeing that the distance had completely widened, Vio also let out a breath, and his body began to sway with his heavy breathing.

"Lord Vio of Bordeaux village," Abad said in a low voice, staring at the unsteady tip of Vio's sword, "you are indeed a warrior."

"I lost this time." Abad didn't waste any more words. Seeing the militiamen raise their bows and aim at him, he quickly ran back.

"My lord, shall we give chase?!" The militiamen surrounded them.

Vio shook his head, his gaze fixed intently on the other person.

If the fighting continues, we will definitely lose. If we send troops to chase him now, we will lose countless militiamen if he takes away just one weapon.

Vio was also glad that he hadn't chosen to attack in groups from the start; with the enemy's strength, the other militiamen would probably have ended up as corpses.

"Someone come here."

Vio handed the sword back to Gina, and with her help, summoned a mounted vanguard.

"What are your orders, my lord?"

"Go to Delro village immediately and inform Chief Jimmy there to strengthen defenses. Beware of Wolf Fang Abad and his henchmen. This man is extremely dangerous. Do not let your guard down for a moment," Vio said, watching the enemy's departing figure.

"Yes, sir!"

The vanguard nodded in acknowledgment, turned around, mounted his horse, whipped it behind him, and sped away, leaving only a cloud of dust behind.

Watching the vanguard leave, Vio withdrew his gaze and slowly scanned the entrance to Bordeaux village, a thought involuntarily arising in his mind.

Perhaps it's time to upgrade the defenses of Bordeaux village.

Although several watchtowers and a low wall to keep out wild animals have been added to Bordeaux village during this period, it is still too rudimentary for what is currently "half the center of the South".

"Send men to gather all the craftsmen from the villages and have them assemble in Bordeaux village." Vio's voice regained its usual composure as he called over a militia captain who had rushed over and instructed him, "Tell them there is a great job building the city walls. Pay them the highest market rate in the kingdom, and give priority to those with relevant experience."

It seems it's time to build real city walls for the village of Bordeaux.
