Lord: I can see loyalty.

Chapter 41 Surprise Attack

"Raze the fortress to the ground! Raze Cavill to the ground!!"

Beneath the Baron's Castle in the Valley City, the bandits repeated their slogans until their alpha wolf, Malankik, arrived at the front of the group, at which point they fell completely silent.

Led by a force of several hundred men, they marched out of Valley City and headed towards Kaville Fortress.

Two other teams followed on either side of the main army, led by the remaining two wolves: the poisonous wolf Faison and the wolf knight Raoul.

After reaching the outskirts of the city, Raoul stopped and instead of following the main force to the fortress, he led his hundred elite cavalrymen toward the direction of Bordeaux village.

"Boss, the intelligence has been confirmed. As long as we pass through that thicket, we can bypass the other villages and towns and reach Bordeaux Village directly!"

After hearing what the man beside him said, Raoul's face broke into a wide, wrinkled smile. He turned and shouted to the cavalry, "Move out! Take the head of that Lord of Bordeaux!"

With a shout, the bandit cavalrymen spurred their horses forward at full speed toward their target!

After the army left Valley City, on an inconspicuous hill in the distance, a figure wearing a camouflage cloak moved slightly.

"We must get back quickly..." The figure glanced back at the bandits stationed on the mountain valley city wall, and after confirming that he had not been discovered, he went to his horse.

As one of Cohen's most trusted members of the Brotherhood, Vance Gilbert and another member were tasked with monitoring the bandits.

"Whoa!" Vance spurred his horse and galloped at full speed toward Bordeaux village.

At the main gate of Bordeaux village, a city wall several meters high stands majestically.

Several militiamen stared wide-eyed, touching every part of the wall in disbelief, clicking their tongues in amazement.

Jimmy, who had already returned to the village, stood to the side, his face also beaming with a smile.

In just one month, they have already built the foundation of the main gate wall. At this rate, it will probably be completed by next spring!

"Sir! Jimmy's grown up!"

Just then, the sound of rapid hoofbeats and shouts came from the bushes in front of the village, and then a figure on horseback rushed out from among them.

The visitor was none other than Vance, who was rushing back to the village at full speed.

"You are... Vance from the Brotherhood?" Jimmy looked at the newcomer, who was panting heavily from both himself and his horse, and recognized him as Vance, who was following Cohen.

"Chief Jimmy! Those bandits are heading towards us and the fortress!" After a brief recollection, Vance added, "The main force, at least four hundred strong, is heading towards the fortress, while a hundred cavalrymen are coming this way!"

"They probably took a shortcut, and they should be close to us now!"

Jimmy and the militiamen beside him were stunned upon hearing this. Jimmy was the first to react, his expression changing slightly. He loudly commanded, "Everyone, get to the city walls and set up defenses! Vance, please go to the lord's residence and inform him of this!"

"Yes, sir." Without hesitation, Vance mounted another horse brought by the militia and rode away, raising a cloud of dust.

"Go and have Ansquière and the other captains lead elite troops to set up defenses at the rear and flanks of the village, as quickly as possible!" Jimmy ordered the militiamen beside him.

After giving the order, Jimmy did not hesitate and led the militia he had gathered to the top of the city wall.

"We've spotted what appears to be an enemy!" A militiaman reported to Jimmy on the city wall from a higher watchtower.

Beyond the grove of trees at the village entrance, a large group of mounted bandits were charging towards them.

"This is a real stroke of luck for us! Those guys from other villages and towns didn't even notice us!"

The bandits could hardly contain their joy, their minds filled with anticipation for the abundant resources of Bordeaux village.

Raoul, the leader, shouted behind him, "Time to speed up! The small village is just beyond these bushes!"

"Charge over there as fast as you can! That little fence at the village entrance won't stop us!" Raoul shouted, raising his long sword in encouragement.

"oh!"

Seeing his men's morale soaring, the wolf knight Raoul turned his gaze back toward the village of Bordeaux.

He really struck gold this time! He had heard about the rapid development of Bordeaux Village recently, and it was said that they had a group of elite warriors under their command.

Even the wolf-toothed Abad couldn't be defeated.

But so what? Even the strongest warriors can't stop the charge of a hundred-man cavalry regiment.

Thinking of this, Raoul's smile grew even more unrestrained, but after advancing a little further, his brows furrowed slightly.

He actually saw what appeared to be the outline of a city wall? Could it be the Baron's Castle? When did this Bordeaux village get such a huge Baron's Castle?

Just then, a loud shout came from ahead.

"Boss! There's..."

A bandit with a panicked expression was whipping his horse, as if he would lose his life if he slowed down even a moment.

Raoul was puzzled for a moment, and was about to reprimand the bandits who had gone to investigate, but the other party's next words made him freeze instantly.

"There are city walls! This little village... Ah!" Before the bandit could finish speaking, a sharp arrow pierced his body with pinpoint accuracy, leaving only his horse to gallop away in panic.

On the city wall not far away, Gertó was leaning to the side, drawing his bow, ready to fire his next shot.

Raoul's expression changed drastically; they had entered the enemy's firing range! The enemy had deliberately not made a move!

Several arrows were fired at the wolf rider and the cavalry behind him. Although some were blocked by the bushes, some still landed among the crowd.

"Ugh!"

"Archers!"

The cavalrymen were thrown into disarray, and their horses, startled, began to run wild.

"Calm down! Fools! Look around you, how many arrows have actually hit people?!" Raoul's roar quelled the chaos, and he turned his gaze to the other side of the village.

How could those guys possibly build an entire city wall in such a short time? If that's the case...

"Head towards the other side of Bordeaux village, full speed ahead!"

At his command, the cavalrymen began to turn their horses around and circle around to the back of the village. The incoming arrows gradually decreased as they created distance, until they stopped firing altogether.

For safety's sake, Raoul no longer chose to rush to the front of the group, but instead sent several bandits to scout ahead.

"Boss!" the bandit at the front shouted, turning around. "There's no city wall behind us! We can already see the village!"

The cavalrymen's attention was also drawn to his words, and they all looked ahead. Sure enough, they could see a low earthen wall and several houses behind it that looked like they were rolling in money!

The bandits' confidence soared. The previous shooting hadn't killed many of them, and taking over this place with a force of nearly a hundred men wouldn't be a problem!

Behind the earthen wall, countless craftsmen were rapidly evacuating under the guidance of militia.

"Captain Ansquie, all the craftsmen have left!" A militiaman in knight's armor reported to Ansquie.

Ansquie, whose knight armor was clearly twice as heavy as the others, nodded, his eyes, visible through the slits of his helmet, fixed on the distance, and gave the order.

"Form ranks! Prepare to meet the enemy!"
