Six Realms Immortal Emperor

Chapter 3 Unyielding Might

"What treasure is this, Dad?" Xu Jingtian asked curiously. The most valuable thing the father and son owned was the copper coins wrapped in a square cloth on the bedside table. What could be inside this box?

Old Xu bent down, wiped away the dirt around the box, and carefully lifted it up.

"Father, let me do it." Xu Jingtian took the box from his hands, but was surprised to find that the box was very light, as if it were empty.

Old Xu carefully opened the box and took out two items: a slightly yellowed white cloth in his left hand and an inconspicuous string of prayer beads in his right hand.

"What is this?" Xu Jingtian was greatly disappointed. It turned out to be just these two pieces of junk.

"Child, you really are the child your father picked up from the mountain." Old Xu handed them to Xu Jingtian, gesturing as he said, "You were only this big back then. This is the cloth that wrapped you up, and these are the prayer beads you wore."

"Ah!" Xu Jingtian almost dropped the white cloth and prayer beads as he took them.

Immediately afterwards, he threw the white cloth and prayer beads on the ground, hugged Old Xu, and cried out, "I don't want these things, I only want my father, I don't want them, I don't want them..."

Old Xu stroked his head affectionately, patted his thin shoulders gently, and said softly, "Child, what I said is true. I know you're still young, and I was afraid you couldn't handle it, so I haven't told you. I was just afraid..."

Old Xu felt a little guilty and didn't know whether he should continue talking.

After a long while, Xu Jingtian lifted his head from Old Xu's arms, his eyes blurry, and asked sadly, "Father, where is my mother?"

This was the first time Xu Jingtian had asked his mother about it since he was old enough to understand. He had thought about it before, but he was afraid of touching on his mother's painful memories, so he had never brought it up. This time, however, he couldn't hold back any longer.

"Everyone else has a mother, why don't I?" Xu Jingtian asked blankly, tears streaming down his face.

Old Xu smiled and comforted him, "Silly child, everyone has a mother, how could you not?"

Xu Jingtian suddenly stopped crying and continued to ask, "Then where is my mother? How come I've never seen her?" Old Xu looked blank. He didn't know how to answer this question. He had originally planned to keep Xu Jingtian's background a secret for the rest of his life.

"Cough cough, your mother..." Old Xu frowned at first, then said firmly, "She is a celestial being. One day, she will come to see you."

"A goddess in heaven? My mother is a goddess in heaven?" Xu Jingtian wiped away his tears and smiled through them. He believed it without a doubt. Since he had a mother, that was a good thing. If his mother was a goddess in heaven, how could she come to see him every day?

"Yes, that's right." Old Xu breathed a sigh of relief, feeling much more relaxed. He nodded as he picked up the white cloth and prayer beads, gently shook off the dust, carefully folded them into a small wooden box, and handed the box to Xu Jingtian.

"When I grow up, I'll go find my mother, and then the three of us will be together forever. We'll never be bullied again!" Xu Jingtian said innocently. He had heard Old Xu say before that the ancestors of the Dongfang family had connections with cultivation sects, and once he had a clue, he would definitely find his mother.

"Okay, good boy. When you grow up, you can go find your mother." After saying this, Old Xu felt a little tired today, more tired than ever before. He wanted to lie down on the bed, but he was also very gratified that he had raised Xiao Jingtian.

"Dad, you lie down first, I'll go get you some rice." After all, he was still a child, so Xu Jingtian skipped and hopped to get rice for Old Xu and carefully carried it to the bedside.

"Come here, Dad, let me feed you." He scooped up a spoonful of porridge, blew on it gently, and handed it to Old Xu.

"Cough cough, you can put it here, I can do it myself." Old Xu insisted that he put the bowl down and told him, "Hurry up and finish your meal, then go outside and walk the horses. Be quick and come back, don't delay your business."

After the horses have eaten their fill, they should be led out for a few walks so that they can gain weight after the food is digested. These are all experiences that Old Xu has summarized.

"Understood, Father." Xu Jingtian quickly buried his head in his porridge. Glug glug, whether it was because he was particularly happy after hearing the news about his mother, or because the porridge was particularly thin, he finished it off in just a few mouthfuls.

After breakfast, Xu Jingtian helped Old Xu to lie down before taking the riding whip hanging on the wall. Before leaving, Old Xu didn't forget to tell him, "When you're out there, be patient and don't cause trouble."

"I understand, Dad, don't worry." Xu Jingtian smiled and gently closed the door.

Although he was shorter than a horse when he stood there, Xu Jingtian was already an experienced horse breeder and trainer. He skillfully held the reins, and dozens of horses followed him out of the Eastern Mansion in a grand procession.

"stop!"

Just as Xu Jingtian arrived outside Guangting Fort and was about to take his horse for a ride, several people suddenly rushed out from behind a big tree and blocked his way.

"What do you want?" Xu Jingtian was a little annoyed when he saw them. It was Dongfang Sifeng and his gang again. They really were persistent.

Kindness is often taken advantage of; despite his constant tolerance, people still find ways to cause him trouble.

"Hmph, what are you doing? You little beggar, you always go against me. I think you really deserve a beating!" Dongfang Sifeng said with a sinister smile.

"Come on, I'm not afraid of you!" Xu Jingtian roared angrily. They were really going too far; this morning they had even made his father, Old Xu, vomit blood. Although they knew martial arts, Xu Jingtian steeled his resolve and wasn't afraid of them.

"Hmph, little beggar, don't just talk big. Back in the manor, I never dared to actually fight you, but I'll beat you to a pulp in a minute. Let's see who comes to your rescue this time! Surround them!" Dongfang Sifeng said with ill intent.

His buddies behind him were no pushovers either. At his signal, they swarmed around Xu Jingtian. Bullying the weak was, in their eyes, both fun and a way to curry favor with the young master, Dongfang Sifeng, ensuring future benefits.

"If you've got the guts, come one at a time. Bullying the few with numbers, what kind of hero are you? You're such cowards!" Xu Jingtian said, pointing at them with utter contempt.

"You little beggar, stop talking nonsense!" Dongfang Sifeng blushed slightly and couldn't help but scold.

"How dare you insult us Dongfang disciples! You're asking for death!" The group of friends also started shouting and cursing, but none of them made a move. They all followed Dongfang Sifeng's orders.

"Hmph, Dongfang disciples, in my opinion, should be called Dongfang dog shit!" Xu Jingtian said angrily.

"Hey, you dare to challenge me? Get out of my way!" Dongfang Sifeng couldn't help but speak up. If he didn't make a move, wouldn't he lose face?

The others retreated with grins, still surrounding Xu Jingtian, waiting to see the show.

Xu Jingtian hadn't expected Dongfang Sifeng to personally intervene. He straightened his back, but was still several inches shorter than his opponent. However, he wouldn't back down; the insults he'd suffered that morning were still fresh in his mind.

"Come on, I'm not afraid of you!"

A cold smile appeared on Dongfang Sifeng's lips as he raised his leg and kicked, "Snow Dragon Leg!" With a clear shout, he kicked Xu Jingtian. Although Dongfang Sifeng was young, his martial arts skills were not weak. He was about to reach the first level of the physical body realm, and this kick had the force of fifty pounds.

"Ah!" Xu Jingtian screamed as he was kicked to the ground, covered in dirt. He clutched his chest, unable to stand up for a moment. He hadn't expected that Dongfang Sifeng, who looked weak, could actually hit so hard. This time, he hadn't managed to dodge.

"Haha, how about it, you stinky beggar!" Dongfang Sifeng laughed heartily, quite pleased with himself.

"Good job, well done!" His friends flattered him from the sidelines.

The pain disappeared in an instant. Xu Jingtian spat and shouted at him, "Pah! That's no fun. Come back if you dare!" He straightened up, supporting himself with his hands on the ground. A warm feeling spread to his palms. He had a sudden idea and secretly grabbed a handful of dust.

Enraged, Dongfang Sifeng rushed forward and kicked Xu Jingtian in the stomach, yelling, "I'll teach you to be so stubborn!"

If that stomp had landed, the frail Xu Jingtian would probably have broken several of his ribs, and his friends all stared wide-eyed.

"Ah!" came the cry from Dongfang Sifeng, who had been splashed with dirt by Xu Jingtian.

Xu Jingtian took the opportunity to roll to the side, causing him to miss his step.

The other members panicked and were at a loss for what to do.

"Beat him! Beat him to death!" Dongfang Sifeng shouted angrily, covering his eyes.

His friends swarmed him, punching and kicking him wildly. They outnumbered him and knew martial arts, so Xu Jingtian was no match for them and was beaten so badly he rolled around on the ground.

These kids were skilled in martial arts, and they attacked relentlessly, without restraint. Xu Jingtian could only shout and had no chance to fight back; he had already suffered over a hundred heavy blows all over his body.

But these guys didn't care about anything else and just started throwing punches.

"Hit him, keep hitting him!" Dongfang Sifeng's voice never stopped. A mere stable boy dared to oppose him; he must be tired of living.

Strangely enough, the punches and kicks that landed on Xu Jingtian only caused him pain for a moment before he felt nothing. Xu Jingtian couldn't help but laugh at himself, thinking that he was born to be beaten up, even his bones were so tough.

Dongfang Sifeng had already wiped the dust from his eyes. Looking at Xu Jingtian, who was rolling around on the ground, he laughed smugly, "If you beg for mercy now, I'll make them stop!"

"Hmph, you think you can make me beg for mercy? No way!" Xu Jingtian gritted his teeth, looked up at him, and sneered, "This is what you Eastern disciples are like? You have no strength at all!"

"Beat him! Beat him to death!" Dongfang Sifeng was furious and shouted viciously, "Hit his head! Smash his mouth!"

His friends' punches and kicks came in an instant, and Xu Jingtian was in trouble. He was hit on the nose and ears, and there was nowhere he could dodge.

After about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, the group was exhausted, but Dongfang Sifeng didn't let them stop. They continued to punch and kick Xu Jingtian on the head, and Xu Jingtian's shouts gradually weakened.

"Young Master!" A young man from the East suddenly realized something was wrong.

"What's wrong?" Dongfang Sifeng asked.

"He...he's not moving..." the disciple said tremblingly.

"Ah!" The others also sensed something was wrong and stopped what they were doing, staring at Dongfang Sifeng in horror.

"Young master, what should we do?"

"Hmph, all of you step aside and let me see if you're just lying there pretending to be dead!" Although Dongfang Sifeng was a little worried, he mustered up his courage and stepped forward out of pride.

He went closer and was shocked by what he saw. Xu Jingtian had been beaten beyond recognition, his eyes were closed, his whole body was covered in dust, and his clothes were tattered and scattered.
