One Piece: Starting from Awakening the Cosmo at Marineford

Chapter 1: Rebirth from the Ashes of the Marineford War

Li Lun was startled awake by a thunderous bang and hurriedly looked around in a panic.

All around were shouts of battle, the clash of swords, bullets flying everywhere, and artillery shells falling in the distance.

Countless people dressed in white uniforms are fighting against countless people dressed in bizarre pirate costumes.

Countless people lay sprawled on the ground, many with broken arms and legs, and many more had stopped breathing, their faces deathly pale.

This is definitely not a movie shoot!

Extras are easy to find, but which film crew would be willing to spend so much money on such a densely packed crowd? Isn't it all just copying and pasting in post-production?

If the production crew has plenty of money, how do you explain a person this tall? Over three meters!

What about the third and fourth floors, which are so high up?

With a muffled "thud," Li Lun felt a sharp pain in his body. Looking down, he saw a bright red bloodstain on his white uniform on his left abdomen.

"WTF...it doesn't seem to hurt that much..."

He then realized that he was holding a knife in his hand, a knife that was very heavy.

Li Lun tilted his head and caught a glimpse of a tall, slightly dilapidated building with the huge Chinese characters "Navy" painted on it.

There was a chaotic battle going on over there, with seven or eight people fighting, golden light and stones flying everywhere, and a shout of "Zhehahahaha..." could be heard.

Li Lun patted his head, searching his memory. He was certain that this was the world of One Piece, this was Marineford, the Marine Headquarters, and the battle over there was between Garp, Sengoku, and the Blackbeard Pirates.

"Neil Aaron, 20 years old, orphan, parents killed by pirates, lieutenant of the 74th Division of the North Blue."

In other stories, this background would make someone a perfect protagonist, capable of achieving great success even without a system.

Unfortunately, this is the world of One Piece, so things have to get even worse.

Most importantly, we're now in an era where family connections matter the most!

Aaron is already 20 and is still only a branch lieutenant. He's clearly not a genius; he's just a nobody.

"No system, and I've been transported to the Marineford War! I don't even have time to survive and develop my strength. Isn't this just messing with me?!"

It's often said that very few people die in One Piece, but that refers to characters with names and identities.

Those ordinary civilians, ordinary marines, and ordinary pirates are best left unmentioned; countless of them die every day, often in large numbers.

Looking up again, two incredibly ugly pirates were running towards them, brandishing swords and looking menacing.

"Damn it!...Damn it! Even though this isn't acting, I'm still going to get my lunchbox (killed off)..."

Li Lun had never seen such an ugly person before. Startled, he grabbed a knife in one hand and pressed the other to his stomach, running towards a less crowded area while shouting, "System, save me... damn it!"

Anyone who has shot a handgun knows that moving targets are harder to hit than stationary targets.

On the battlefield, you either hide where no one is around or keep running, trying to survive every second you can.

If I could kill one or two pirates in the chaos, it would be a worthwhile outcome.

Unfortunately, he hadn't run more than a few steps when he stepped on a pool of blood and slipped.

With a crisp sound like shattering glass, a gust of wind swept in and knocked Li Lun to the ground.

Two feet stopped beside him, and a hand was stretched out in front of him: "Hey! You can't be idle on the battlefield! Idling is waiting to die!"

This was a young man in a white naval uniform, looking around warily with a serious expression.

Li Lun grabbed his hand and stood up. Just as he was about to say "thank you," a burst of blood bloomed before his eyes, and a bullet pierced the marine's forehead.

The marine's eyes widened, his mouth still half-open, before he fell backward onto the ground with a dull thud.

Li Lun was stunned and couldn't even see the marine's face clearly.

"kill!"

The voice from behind was so close that Li Lun didn't have time to turn around before his blood was already boiling.

He lunged forward, grabbed a pistol from the ground, rolled to the right, and sprang into the air.

Two gunshots rang out, and the two pirates who had been chasing them fell to the ground.

Although Nell Aaron was only a second lieutenant, he had undergone countless brutal training sessions, and his body was capable of completing this series of actions in a hurry.

Li Lun felt another darkness above his head, and quickly turned around. Before he could aim properly, he pulled the trigger on a dark figure that was more than three meters tall.

With a soft "click," no bullet was fired from the gun barrel.

"Are you kidding me?!"

Li Lun cursed and suddenly threw his pistol at the dark figure.

The man didn't flinch, letting the pistol smash into his chest.

He grinned, and a burst of flame erupted from the knife in his hand, enveloping the blade.

The flames illuminated the man's face as he looked down.

This was a rugged-looking black man with a mustache, a receding hairline, and an extremely muscular build. His muscles were even more exaggerated than those muscle-bound guys who frantically drink protein powder and take performance-enhancing drugs.

A bounty poster instantly flashed into Li Lun's mind: Whitebeard Pirates, 15th Division Captain Fossa, bounty 360 million Berries.

Li Lun was speechless, his face falling.

"They really have no choice but to die."

Instead of turning and running away, he raised his hands and gave a two-finger salute: "Hey!"

Fossa, with a cigar in his mouth and a blank expression, pushed the knife forward.

The blade pierced his chest; it wasn't cold, but rather somewhat hot.

Li Lun grinned.

The knife was drawn, and flames exploded, instantly engulfing Li Lun's entire body and setting his clothes ablaze.

Li Lun felt the excruciating pain of being burned by the flames, but instead of crying out, he cursed loudly:

"I died right after transmigrating! Is some system manipulating my system? It made me get shot for nothing, and stabbed right through the heart!"

"I didn't even see a single local beauty with big, wavy hair; what a waste of my time travel..."

"By the way, is it possible to die and go back? If only I could bring back a local specialty..."

The flames on his back quickly went out, but the flames on his chest continued to burn.

The shouts of battle continued all around, and people kept falling.

Li Lun's consciousness gradually faded, and he soon closed his eyes.

The flames on his body grew smaller and smaller until they gradually went out.

Just as the last flame went out, a flame suddenly reappeared from the heart of the already curled-up corpse.

With a loud "boom," the flames exploded instantly, turning into a large ball of fire that burned brighter and brighter, quickly burning the corpse to ashes.

But the flames did not go out; they strangely burned brighter and brighter on the ground, turning the surrounding ground red-hot.

Even more strangely, the flames took shape, and even strong winds could not disperse them.

The dozens of marines and pirates fighting nearby felt the temperature rise rapidly and couldn't help but glance over out of the corner of their eyes, where they saw a fiery red phoenix.

The fiery phoenix seemed to be alive, flapping its wings as if about to take flight.

Its size is also rapidly increasing, pushing the scorching air waves outwards.

"Clang!"

A loud, high-pitched phoenix cry that resounded through the sky reached everyone's ears.

Phoenixes soar together, their cries resounding.

Countless people felt a tremor in their hearts upon hearing this melodious phoenix cry, and couldn't help but look in the direction from which the sound came, their hands stopping what they were doing.

The towering flames began to shrink rapidly, maintaining the shape of a phoenix.

When the fireball shrank to only a few meters in size, a human-shaped black shadow appeared at the center of the flames.

Countless pirates stared wide-eyed at the dark figure in the flames, their faces filled with excitement and anticipation, their eager eyes seemingly hoping for some kind of miracle to happen.

Countless marines stared in disbelief at the figure in the flames, their faces filled with fear.

The flames disappeared, and a man appeared in everyone's sight.

The man was dressed in armor, with a helmet that was mainly yellow and white, while his arms, gauntlets, legs, and feet were fiery red. Three red and yellow phoenix tail wings fluttered on his back.

He is Li Lun.
