One Piece: Starting from Awakening the Cosmo at Marineford

Chapter 13 Taking shortcuts is not the right path. Sengoku Garp resigns.

How do you feel when someone hits you?

Should I be happy? How shameless!

Is this your first day as a reporter?

Aaron really wanted to drag that reporter who shoved the thick, black microphone in his face over and beat him up.

He made a conscious effort to control his expression and managed a smile.

But that smile was still a little scary, making the reporter shrink back and let his outstretched arm fall down.

The female reporter's eyes were already shining: "You're so handsome! Can you tell me your name? Could you strike a really cool pose so I can keep it as a souvenir... I mean, so we can put it in tomorrow's newspaper?"

"Yeah! I've even come up with the headline: Shocking: Rayleigh's all-out attack leaves unknown marine unharmed! What do you think?"

Aaron waved his hand: "Whatever makes you happy."

These reporters, like flies, wouldn't let go of this juicy piece of meat, and continued to hound them with all sorts of outrageous questions.

Especially that female reporter.

"How old are you?"

Do you have a girlfriend?

Are you sexually active?

Aaron was inexplicably irritated by the reporters' questions, and he unconsciously emanated a scorching aura that baked the transparent air into a misty haze.

The reporters jumped back with a "whoosh," fearing that Aaron might suddenly burst into flames like before.

Aaron shook off the reporters and ran away from Oris Square with great speed, putting away his Saint Cloth.

The horns had long since stopped, and the town's residents had come out again, bringing back the lively atmosphere.

Aaron weaved through the crowd back to his dormitory, lay on his bed, and began to recall the details of his battle with Luffy and Rayleigh.

The fight was short, but it was a good real-world combat experience.

In particular, Rayleigh allowed him to personally experience the strength of top-tier combat power.

The King's Left Hand, the Great Swordsman, shrouded in Conqueror's Haki, wields only a single strike.

After donning the Saint Cloth, Aaron was able to hold his own against a squad leader like Fossa, and even hold his own.

But against Rayleigh, it would be a matter of one strike.

Aaron couldn't be sure how much of Rayleigh's power he had used in that move.

"I'm still too weak. I need to find a way to grow stronger as soon as possible. I don't have much time left."

Luffy became one of the 12 Supernovas after three months at sea.

He trained with Rayleigh for two years, and after setting sail again, it took him another two months to become one of the Four Emperors.

This growth rate is so fast that it's more accurate to say he stole a max-level account than to say he's cheating.

In particular, only about 60 days had passed between defeating the Shichibukai Doflamingo and then fighting Kizaru and the Five Elders on Egghead Island.

No wonder Doflamingo questioned the meaning of life after reading the newspaper in prison.

Aaron thought about it and realized that the best way to improve his strength was to go to the front lines and fight continuously.

Another way to exploit a bug is to repeatedly attempt to die.

Due to the unique nature of the Phoenix Flame, one can be resurrected after death and simultaneously increase their strength. If one dies a few more times, one might awaken their sixth sense of cosmos, and their Saint Cloth could evolve accordingly.

"Learn from Kaido and commit suicide? Steal his title as the King of Suicide?"

Aaron shook his head, dismissing the idea.

It's not that he's afraid of pain.

He intuitively understood one thing: deliberately seeking death would definitely not be as effective as dying in battle.

Furthermore, wouldn't suicide be considered an active destruction of the Saint Cloth?

The Saint Cloths are sentient.

Like Deathmask's Cancer Gold Cloth, which, feeling that his behavior was too shameless, believed that he was not worthy of wearing the Gold Cloth and left him.

If I mess around with things and the Phoenix Cloth gets angry and runs away, wouldn't that be a huge loss?

"It's still more reliable to keep fighting. Learning and improving in battle is the right path. Coupled with diligent training and solidifying the foundation, that's how you can ultimately stand at the top."

Taking shortcuts is never the right path.

Just then, the tag on his chest flashed, as if agreeing with Aaron's idea.

Aaron smiled, touched the tag on his chest, and began to think about whether he should offer to go to the front lines.

Now that Akainu has left me at headquarters, I don't know what he will do to me.

Aaron even thought that Akainu was just having a passing interest and might have already forgotten that he even existed.

In that case, Aaron will have to stay here.

The Marine Headquarters has moved to the original G1 branch in the New World, and Marineford will soon become the new G1 branch.

The commander of the G1 branch is the veteran Lieutenant General Momonga, who often goes out on missions. Following him seems like a good idea.

As Aaron thought about it, his stomach started growling.

It's dinnertime.

Aaron got up and went out towards the restaurant.

It has been more than ten days since the end of the Marineford War, and some of the marines who were not seriously injured have been able to move around on their own.

These marines varied in height and build, and most of them had ordinary human faces, unlike the pirates, most of whom were strangely shaped, as if they had been mutated by nuclear radiation.

Aaron wasn't familiar with any of these people, but he spotted Koby and Bellmarebo in the crowd at a glance.

Two familiar faces, Fenbdi and Zango, were standing not far from them.

Fumbudy is the Navy captain in the East Blue who got angry and beaten up after Sanji "harassed" his female companion.

He shared the nickname "Iron Fist" with Garp.

Although his strength is not great, he is indeed a marine full of a sense of justice.

As for Django, he is the vice-captain of the Black Cat Pirates, the hypnotist Django.

They are now all marines under Tina's command.

There were a couple hundred marines in the restaurant, but they didn't seem to recognize Aaron.

Aaron rarely saw acquaintances and had originally intended to go over and say hello.

When they saw them sitting at a table with Koby, they gave up on the idea and found an empty table to sit down.

Many of the marines around were discussing what had happened at Oris Square that afternoon.

The four people at Koby's table all pricked up their ears to listen.

They and Luffy are all acquaintances, having each been beaten up by one of the three leaders of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Coby, in particular, was overjoyed to hear that Luffy was still alive.

But the topic was quickly put to rest.

"Hey, have you heard? Both Fleet Admiral Sengoku and Garp have resigned!"

"What?!"

An uproar erupted in the restaurant.

These two, along with Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Tsuru, these three old giants of the Navy can be considered the pillars of the Navy Headquarters.

For decades, they have supported the Navy Headquarters and are heroes and pillars of strength in the hearts of countless marines.

Two people have resigned... Isn't the Navy now empty?

"Don't scare them. Sengoku and Garp have only resigned from their current positions and will remain at Marine Headquarters. However, Fleet Admiral Sengoku will only be an advisor from now on, and Vice Admiral Garp will focus his energy on training new recruits."

"That's not the most pressing issue. If Sengoku has resigned as marshal, who will succeed him?"

"Akainu? Aokiji? Or Kizaru?"
