The fairy maid cheers for her deceased master today.

017 Everything was within the detective's plan.

Elena's declaration made Spring-Heeled Jack hesitate for a moment.

Jack's red eyes flickered, as if assessing this suddenly appearing opponent. Elena smiled slightly, her fingertips glowing green.

First strike!

"Act One: The Vine Cage"

As soon as she finished speaking, the ground suddenly cracked open. Thick vines shot out like hungry pythons, instantly wrapping around Jack's limbs.

Jack let out an angry hiss, his metal claws frantically cutting through the vines, but new vines kept emerging from the ground, tightening their grip.

"Act Two, Dance of Thorns"

Elena snapped her fingers. Suddenly, the vines wrapped around Jack burst into bright red flowers, and thorns sprouted from the vines.

Jack tried to break free, but the thorns were deeply embedded in his metal bodysuit, making a screeching sound.

Act III, The Poisonous Fog Garden.

Elena snapped her fingers again. Green mist shot out from the flower's core and spread rapidly. Jack's red eyes suddenly widened; he seemed to realize something.

But it was too late; the fog had already reached its body, and the metal clothing emitted a hissing, corrosive sound.

Angel was completely stunned: "This lady is amazing!"

However, the red light in Jack's eyes faded slightly as he was trapped.

"Interesting," Jack rasped. "Who... exactly are you?"

It's still evolving; it can already speak fluently.

"As I said, a professional detective," Elena smiled, "is adept at handling anomalies like yours."

Jack's red eyes flickered. Suddenly it laughed, and then its body began to contort violently.

The vines were broken, the thorns were shaken off, and the poisonous mist was forcibly dispelled. Its body grew taller, its muscles more defined, and something seemed to be writhing beneath its metallic bodysuit.

"Well then..." Jack stretched, "Now, it's my turn to perform."

It vanished from its spot. The next second, it appeared behind Elena, its claws aimed straight for her back. Elena seemed to have anticipated this; her body suddenly leaned forward, and she slapped the ground with both hands.

"Act Four, Spike Attack!"

The ground suddenly exploded, countless sharp stalagmites, surrounded by vines, piercing out like swords. Jack, who had jumped, was forced to change direction mid-air, landing with a heavy thud. Elena seized the opportunity to roll to a safe distance and dust off her skirt.

Jack tried to give chase, but was hit by both X's bullets and Angel's ice flowers.

Take this opportunity—

Act Five: The Feast of the Man-Eating Flowers

Elena clasped her hands together, then suddenly slammed them into the ground. The ground cracked open, and a giant carnivorous flower burst forth, its petals opening like gaping maws, lunging at Jack.

Jack nimbly leaped away, but the carnivorous plant's vines had already wrapped around his ankles. With a strong pull, Jack lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground.

"Enough!" Jack roared. "These little tricks won't work on me!"

Jack's claws instantly severed all the plants, allowing him to escape once more. The clumsy carnivorous plants couldn't even bite him.

"Really?" Elena raised an eyebrow. "Then let's try this—The Final Act, The Root of the World Tree."

Elena began to make new spellcasting gestures.

Jack's red eyes flickered uncertainly, as if it were weighing something. Finally, it gave a cold laugh, glanced at Elena one last time, and then turned and disappeared into the rain.

The alien species has completely disappeared.

"It's over." Elena clapped her hands. "Alright, we should go back now."

AX and Angel breathed a sigh of relief. Angel ran to Irene's side, her blue eyes sparkling, "Sister, you're amazing!"

"It's alright." Elena patted Angel's head.

"That last move must have been amazing! It scared the aliens away!"

"Well, everything is within this detective's plan. Actually, I don't know anything about a 'final act'..."

"Why!?"

"I was just trying to scare it. Okay, the door should be open now, let's go."

The "door" beneath the clock tower emits a soft glow.

The three of them walked towards the door together, and X couldn't help but ask, "Who exactly are you?"

"As I said, a professional detective," Elena smiled, "specializing in handling all sorts of unusual events."

"But this is a church."

"Yes, dealing with unusual events is inseparable from churches and the Knights Templar."

That makes a lot of sense, and I can't refute it.

They passed through the "door" and returned to the candlelit hall. Samuel stood there, looking at them with a somber expression.

"Miss Detective," Samuel said coldly, "you still haven't given me an explanation."

"Haha, didn't I already say that the white-robed priest can vouch for me?"

Samuel remained silent for a moment, then turned and said, "I'm sorry, Sir Moore, that you were put in danger. As compensation, I will give you a generous reward."

"Reward?" Ex's eyes lit up.

Angel also excitedly twitched her ears.

They've just used up a lot of the workshop's assets through equivalent exchange. Now, both X and the fairy maid are worried about where the money will come from.

“That’s right.” Samuel nodded. “After all, you were in danger because of our test.”

"That's true..." Ex stroked his chin, "But exactly how much?"

"One hundred pounds." Samuel held up one finger.

"One hundred pounds!" exclaimed Axe. "That much?"

"This is hush money," Samuel said bluntly. "The anomalies surrounding the 'Rain World' cannot be disclosed to anyone else for the time being. If you can guarantee—"

"Deal," Ex readily agreed.

Samuel felt suffocated, realizing that his prepared explanations were completely useless.

"But what exactly is the 'Rain World'?"

"I'm sorry, I have no comment."

X: "..."

"See you tomorrow." Samuel nodded and saw him off. "Oh, by the way, Miss Irene, may I speak with you alone?"

"Of course." Elena smiled, revealing her little fangs. "Then, Sir, until we meet again."

After X and Angel left, Samuel looked at Irene and his expression turned serious.

"Mr. Darwin wouldn't let a fairy into the testing hall without permission. Miss Elena, your timing is too perfect."

"What do you mean?" Elena raised an eyebrow.

"He broke into the house during testing without permission... Elena, I still need an explanation."

"Phew... That's why I hate dealing with butlers. I was just looking to borrow the testing room, but it turns out you're using it."

Samuel paused for a moment: "You have been expelled from the Holy Order, Miss Elena."

"Oh?"

"Outsiders are prohibited from using the 'Door' without permission. Furthermore, the 'Rain World' seems to be becoming increasingly unstable."

"Heh...that has nothing to do with me."

The black-robed deacon let out a final sigh.

"Are you still investigating that matter?"

"So what?" Elena shrugged. "It's my choice."

“But you’re about to lose control. I suggest you don’t go into the ‘Rain World’ again,” Samuel said earnestly, “at least until we find a way to prevent it from getting out of control.”

Irene paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Of course, I know what I'm doing."

As she spoke, Elena seemed to remember something.

"Is that Sir Axe More, or is his full name Sir Axe More?"

She had just heard how the black-robed deacon addressed the other person.

"Yes, what's wrong?"

It's nothing, he's just on my suspect list.

Elena waved her hand and took out her special detection device.

Seeing the numbers on the screen rapidly increasing, Elena's smile grew even wider.

How lucky...we found you so quickly. Jazz.

Sure enough, everything went according to the detective's plan.
