The fairy maid cheers for her deceased master today.

The news of the case made Elena almost jump out of bed.
Elena abruptly pulled back the high-end sheets provided for the VIP ward.
"Then what are we waiting for? We have to go now!" She grabbed X's wrist. "Sir X, when are we leaving?"
"Ah, wait a minute!"
Angel hurriedly grabbed the jar of almond cookies. The jar almost fell over because of Elena's movement.
She quickly tried to stop her, saying, "Sister Elena, Dr. Green also said..."
"Can a doctor's words feed me? I'm a former member of the Holy Path Society, not just a mere doctor—"
Squeak!
The door hinges suddenly turned, and Dr. Green pushed the door open and entered. His silver stethoscope swayed in front of his chest, and his gray robe was spotless, even the creases looked as if it had been ironed.
Irene abruptly stopped talking and sat obediently on the bed. Ex almost burst out laughing.
Dr. Green still stared at everyone with that deadpan expression.
"Miss Wentworth," he said calmly, "your pollution levels have not yet fully stabilized and you must be observed for another 24 hours."
Irene has indeed recovered from the contamination, but not fully.
"But Dr. Green, I still have cases..."
Irene instinctively wanted to defend herself.
"It is precisely because of the urgency of the silver theft that your full recovery is necessary." Dr. Green adjusted his glasses, the lenses reflecting a cold light. "The Church of Jesus has a strict rehabilitation process."
"But doctor, actually, in this situation..." Ax wanted to say a few more words of advice.
But the doctor immediately retorted: "My patient is my decision. Your Honor. You surely wish my patient a speedy recovery, wouldn't you?"
indeed.
"That's it. Please make sure you get plenty of rest. Contact me if you have any problems."
Dr. Green was probably just making his rounds and soon left.
But after taking only a couple of steps, he turned back and asked, "By the way, Miss Elena, what were you trying to say when I came in?"
"There's nothing there!" Elena quickly replied.
"Okay, I understand." Dr. Green walked out naturally without any expression on his face.
At this moment, AX looked at Irene with amusement: "Oh dear, I wonder who was saying just now, 'Just a mere doctor...'"
Then he got hit by a pillow.
Angel was immediately conflicted. Her master had been hit by Elena, should she also throw a pillow at Elena in retaliation?
Angel quickly noticed her master's expression and breathed a sigh of relief when she realized he didn't care at all.
However, it is clear that Irene will not give up so easily.
"Sir Axe," Elena said.
"What?"
"We're getting out of here tonight. I feel this case... is urgent."
"No, are you really that afraid of Dr. Green?" Ax asked curiously.
"I... I don't know either, but that doctor exuded a terrifying aura that targeted fairies, just as terrifying as Deacon Samuel when he was serious."
I get it. That kind of aura must be the feeling a pet has when it meets a veterinarian.
Ex couldn't help but think of this.
"So how do you plan to escape?" Ex asked again.
"Hmm, let me think... I think it's best to take advantage of the darkness. The doctor's rounds will end after 10 p.m., and then it'll be the nurses' rounds. That should make it easier to escape," Elena thought seriously.
At this moment, Ex also remembered through fragments of memory that the so-called nurses were actually some of the black-robed butlers. Yes, the butlers were not all male. Some female butlers took on the duties of nurses.
Axe then cautioned, "Even so, when we leave, our group will still be too conspicuous."
Three suspected patients walking in the hospital corridor in the middle of the night would certainly be very conspicuous to some of the deacons.
"Then what should we do?" Elena asked.
"What a coincidence, I happened to bring some hospital gowns with me when I came. Why don't you try them on later?" Ax smiled.
Exchanging clothes for equivalent value is relatively simple.
Elena was taken aback for a moment, then broke into a bright smile.
"As expected of Sir Axe, you had already thought this through."
"No, I only know about your personality." Ex smiled slightly.
He had originally only planned to bring some clothes to wear overnight, but then, thinking about Elena's personality, he brought more clothes. They actually came in handy.
So at 10 o'clock, the operation began.
After realizing there was no movement outside the door, the three of them walked out of the intensive care unit together.
The hospital corridor was exceptionally quiet in the night, with the gaslight casting flickering shadows on the walls.
Elena moved close to the cold wall. Angel followed behind her, the hem of her nurse's gown trailing softly on the floor. Angel took each step carefully, as if afraid of disturbing the sleeping hospital.
Yes, Angel had changed into a nurse's gown so that when she met people, she could pretend to be a hospital nurse and take patients to the restroom. The hospital was so big that people might not be able to tell she wasn't the real nurse.
X followed at the back, also wearing a black robe.
"How much further?" Angel's voice was almost inaudible.
"It's just ahead," Elena replied softly, her emerald eyes scanning the surrounding shadows warily.
Suddenly, footsteps came from the end of the corridor. The three of them felt their hearts tighten almost simultaneously, and X quickly pulled Elena and Angel into the shadow of the Gothic archway.
The footsteps grew closer, accompanied by the flickering light of a lantern, piercing the darkness of the corridor.
"Who's there?"
A hoarse voice rang out, and the night watchman's figure gradually became clear in the lamplight. He held a lantern in one hand and a baton in the other, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings.
No one responded.
So the light from the swaying lantern drew closer and closer.
Angel's heart was in her throat. Elena even raised her hand, preparing to cast a spell, seemingly wanting to knock out the innocent passerby in front of her.
Even Ax himself felt that he needed to step in and find a way to mislead him.
Just a moment before the light shone on the three of them—
Even Irene's hand was already raised—
"Nobody's here. Turns out, I was just imagining things."
The Night's Watchman shook his head and staggered away.
The three of them immediately breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that it was even more exciting than facing Jack.
Ex immediately stepped out of the shadows and urged everyone to hurry up and leave.
Elena and Angel quickly emerged from the shadows and followed X through the corridor.
After passing through the corridor, the three arrived at the wooden door leading to the laundry room.
Elena's vine magic stealthily probed the keyhole, turning it gently, the lock making a soft click. She pushed the door open, and a wave of damp steam rushed out, mingling with the scent of soap from the laundry room.
"Quick, get through here," Elena whispered, stepping into the steamy room first. The washing machine hummed in the corner, and the steam pipes hissed, providing perfect cover for their movement.
Angel followed closely behind. She nervously glanced around.
"Sister Elena, can we get out of here?" Her voice was almost drowned out by the roar of the machines.
"Of course, it will pass quickly," Elena said, turning back to comfort her.
Just as they were about to pass through the laundry room, Angel seemed to accidentally bump into something. A loud crash followed. An iron gate suddenly appeared, blocking their path.
The commotion startled Angel.
Anti-theft system? Isn't the security at this hospital a bit too good?
AX quickly grabbed their shoulders and hissed, "Quiet! Calm down! Find another way out!"
The sound of the watchman's footsteps came from outside the door, growing closer and closer. Angel almost burst into tears.
Irene raised her hand, and the vine magic quickly probed into the ventilation ducts, weaving through the reliefs on the Gothic walls, searching for another way out.
Her fingertips glowed green, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, revealing her inner tension and anxiety.
"I've got it! This way! We can definitely get out!"
She whispered, pointing to a hidden vent in the wall.
X quickly pushed Elena toward the vent, then Angel was pulled up by the vines. Finally, he himself was pulled up by the vines.
The three crawled through the narrow pipes, the steam and dust making the fairy's breathing rapid.
Finally, they climbed out from the other end of the ventilation shaft and arrived at the back door of the hospital. Moonlight streamed through the window and illuminated the path ahead of them.
Elena leaned against the wall, gasping for fresh air. Angel gripped her arm tightly, her body trembling slightly with tension.
"Alright, alright," Elena said with a smug smile. "Now the sky's the limit."
This is the last door.
Then Elena opened the back door.
Then... they saw a familiar figure.
Dr. Green stood in the moonlight, his gray robe fluttering gently in the night breeze. The moonlight reflected off his glasses, obscuring his eyes.
The three of them froze on the spot, as if the air had solidified.
