Huayu97: Starting with Wu Song Fighting the Tiger
Chapter 108 Internal Chaos
At this moment, their fighting was even more intense than the melee on the deck.
When the captain arranged the evacuation, he specifically instructed the elderly, women, and children to take shelter in the innermost staff quarters first. The cabin doors there are sturdy, and it is also next to the engine room repair area, so it is relatively safe and reliable.
However, most of the guests on the ship were wealthy businessmen from Hong Kong and Macau, as well as producers and directors from TVB and ATV. They were all prominent figures, and everyone wanted to grab a good cabin. No one was willing to give way to anyone else. As soon as they arrived at the dormitory entrance, they split into several small groups and started fighting with each other.
The first to clash were Mr. Wang, the owner of a building materials store in Hong Kong and Kowloon, and Mr. Chen, the owner of a casino in Macau. Mr. Wang was in his fifties, with a shiny bald head, a round belly, and wearing a floral shirt. He was also carrying a genuine leather briefcase, clearly a wealthy man. Mr. Chen was younger than him, with a mustache, wearing a black Tang suit, and followed by two bodyguards. He exuded a powerful aura.
Both men had their eyes on the innermost rest room in the staff dormitory. It was a large room with a private bathroom, and most importantly, it was the furthest from the cabin door, making it the safest. Boss Wang, confident in his numbers, led seven or eight of his henchmen forward, kicked open the rest room door, and shouted defiantly, "Get out of my way! This room is for me!"
Boss Chen was naturally unhappy and immediately led his men to block the doorway. His mustache twitched, and he spoke in a sarcastic tone: "Wang the Bald, have you no shame? Is this ship yours? You think you can just decide on a deal like that? These two bodyguards behind me are veterans of the Vietnam War. When it comes to protecting people, can your bunch of good-for-nothings compare?"
"Who are you calling a good-for-nothing?" Boss Wang immediately got angry, rolled up his sleeves, and was about to fight. His henchmen were not to be trifled with either, and they immediately surrounded him. Boss Chen's bodyguards also stepped forward, glaring menacingly. The two sides were on the verge of a fight.
The onlookers were not idle either, and immediately split into two factions. Some who had business dealings with Boss Wang spoke up for him, saying, "Boss Chen, Boss Wang is doing this for everyone's good. His brothers are indeed good fighters." Others who were related to Boss Chen chimed in, "Boss Wang is wrong. Everything should be done reasonably. It's not fair to forcibly take things from us." The argument started and became more lively than a vegetable market.
Before this dispute could be resolved, another conflict erupted on the other side. TVB drama producer Director Zhao and ATV producer Director Huang, who already had a long-standing feud over actors and scripts, were now locked in a fierce confrontation. Director Zhao, in his forties, wore gold-rimmed glasses, a beige trench coat, and was clutching a script in his hand.
He retorted, his neck stiff, "Director Wong, have you no shame? These three VIP cabins are right next to each other; they should belong to our TVB staff. We even have two of our most popular actresses here. If they get injured, can you take responsibility?"
Director Huang, a fat man with a belly even rounder than Director Zhao, wore a floral T-shirt and retorted without backing down, "Director Zhao, stop talking nonsense! So what if she's a popular actress? We at ATV have two martial arts stars who can hold their own against pirates. What can your two actresses do besides cry? This cabin must be ours!"
The two argued more and more fiercely, and Director Zhao, unable to contain his anger, reached out and shoved Director Li.
Director Huang, who was already overweight, lost his balance and staggered back several steps before falling to the ground with a thud. He was completely enraged and got up, ready to fight Director Zhang. The two of them immediately surrounded them to break up the fight. Director Huang's patterned T-shirt was torn, and during the struggle, Director Zhao's gold-rimmed glasses were knocked off. They were all in a very sorry state.
Some small business owners, unable to compete with the big bosses for good locations, set their sights on the ordinary cubicles in the employee dormitories. Each cubicle is crammed with seven or eight people, and people still fight it out fiercely. One female boss who runs a clothing business was pulling each other's hair to grab a window seat, shouting, "You stinking woman, how dare you compete with me!" The scene became so chaotic that it was impossible to clean up.
Just as the several groups were making a scene, and Boss Wang and Boss Chen's men had already picked up stools from the ground, about to start a fight, the captain rushed over with several crew members, carrying a megaphone. Seeing the chaotic scene, he was so angry that his face turned green.
He grabbed a megaphone and yelled, "Stop it, all of you! What's all this noise about?! Isn't it chaotic enough already?! The pirates are still on the ship! You're all fighting yourselves, are you trying to send them to their deaths?!"
The captain's shout carried immense authority, and the sound from the loudspeaker made the corridor vibrate. The previously noisy crowd instantly quieted down. Boss Zhao and Boss Huang stood frozen in place, holding their stools, looking at each other, neither daring to make the first move.
The captain paused, then glanced at everyone in the corridor, his tone turning serious: "I'm telling you this, what time is it now? Still thinking about grabbing good rooms! The pirates are still searching the cabins. If they find this place, none of us will survive! Listen up, everyone, follow the rules! The elderly, women, and children, all of you, go to the innermost lounge. That's the safest place on the ship. Anyone who tries to take it will face my wrath!"
Upon hearing this, everyone fell silent. After all, the elderly, women, and children were vulnerable groups, and no one could bear the responsibility if something happened to them. A woman holding a child immediately wiped away her tears and said, "Thank you, Captain, thank you, Captain. My child is still so young. What would we do if he got hurt?" As she spoke, she carried her child towards the rest cabin.
The captain then pointed to Boss Wang and Boss Chen and continued, "Boss Wang, you take your men and guard the east corridor. Your building materials business people are strong, so protecting them shouldn't be a problem, right? Boss Chen, you take your men and guard the west corridor. Your two bodyguards are Vietnam War veterans; they'll be on guard. If they spot any pirates, they'll act immediately, right?"
Boss Wang and Boss Chen exchanged a glance. Although they were still a little resentful, the captain's arrangement was reasonable, so they didn't object further. Boss Zhao, with his neck stiff, snorted, "Fine, east corridor it is. If pirates come, I'll be the first one up!" Boss Huang nodded as well, "Leave the west corridor to me, no problem!"
Having resolved these two major problems, the captain looked at Director Zhao and Director Huang, his tone softening somewhat: "Director Zhao, Director Huang, you two stop arguing. The remaining two rooms can each be occupied by TVB and ATV."
Director Zhao and Director Huang both knew this wasn't the time to be petty. Director Zhao pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses, which had lost a leg, and nodded, saying, "Alright, we'll listen to the captain. But Fatty Huang, you'd better keep an eye on your men, or they'll become a hindrance." Director Zhao rolled his eyes, "Just mind your own business and stop making sarcastic remarks." Although the two still didn't get along, they didn't argue anymore.
After arranging everything, the captain breathed a sigh of relief and was about to take a sip of water when he heard a strong smell of alcohol coming from the end of the corridor.
