One Piece: Starting from Obtaining the Float-Float Fruit
Chapter 39 Conflict
"Oh no! Lord Moria! Absalom has been killed!" Perona rushed to Moria's side, tearfully recounting what had just happened.
"What?! Absalom's dead?! Damn it! I'll tear him to pieces!" Moria was furious. Kaido killed his comrade, and this Anya dared to kill him too? Did he really think he was a pushover?
"No, Lord Moria, Absalom was only knocked unconscious, and Anya sent him flying with just one slap," Perona quickly explained.
Moria was immediately relieved. Thank goodness Absalom wasn't dead, or he would have lost another comrade!
"Come on, Perona, let's go see who this person is..."
Before Moria could finish speaking, the wooden door beside him was opened.
"Yo! Nice to meet you. My name is Stuart Anya, the man destined to become the King of the World!" Anya greeted the two of them.
"Eek! You, how did you get here so fast? No, don't come any closer!" Perona was startled and waved her umbrella at him repeatedly, even releasing a few negative ghosts.
However, the ghosts dissipated the moment they came into contact with Anya.
Perona was stunned; this was the first time her Devil Fruit ability had no effect on a person.
Anya could only say: Conqueror's Haki! Kid.
"Huh? Is this creature that looks a bit like a human the same Gecko Moria?" De Solo looked at the obese guy and couldn't imagine how strong he was.
"Perona, you can step back now. What a bunch of rude people." Moria slowly stood up, his massive body towering several heads above them.
"Put Absalom down! Then offer up your shadows!" A materialized shadow suddenly appeared beside Moria.
Anya looked at the unconscious Absalom she was carrying and said, "Oh, this is for you."
Moria was startled by his actions and hurriedly caught Absalom. He hadn't expected that this man would hand over the hostage to him so easily.
"By the way, have you really fought Kaido? Right now, you don't seem to be able to withstand even one blow from Kaido's staff!" Anya looked Moria up and down. He wasn't as fat as he was 12 years later, but his figure had obviously changed.
This shows that Moriah has already headed towards that decadent future.
"What?! Who is Kaido? I only failed to defeat him because of my crew. Are you underestimating me?"
Moria was instantly enraged and pulled out a pair of scissors from somewhere, immediately attacking Anya.
"Hey, don't be so hot-tempered. Do you really want to take back Wano Country with those ridiculous zombies?" Anya caught his scissors with one hand. Moria can still use Haki now, but it's very weak.
Moria looked at the man who could catch his attacks so easily and wondered if his strength had really declined a lot.
"What do you know? See those corpses stored in the cold storage down there? I only need a suitable shadow to revive Oars, and then I'll definitely be able to defeat Kaido."
Anya looked in the direction Moria pointed and saw the legendary overlord from five hundred years ago, the demon Oz.
"Do you really think this corpse can defeat Kaido? Do you know how strong Kaido is now?" Anya wanted to see if Moria was just delusional or if he was truly unwilling to accept defeat.
Moria fell silent for a moment.
Honestly, if he could resurrect the real Oars from 0 years ago, he might be able to defeat Kaido, but the possibility is almost zero.
"You can't beat anyone stronger than you, and a weak shadow is useless. How are you going to insert a powerful shadow into Oz's body?" Anya helped him discover his blind spot.
Moria was stunned. Yes, his strength had declined considerably. He had been thinking only about finding strong people to cut off his shadow, but he hadn't realized that he could no longer defeat those strong people.
No, how could I possibly lose? This kid is lying to me!
"Shut up, wait until you beat me!" Moria suddenly sprang into action, manipulating his shadow to transform into bats and attack Anya.
Anya simply slashed his shadow to pieces with a casual stroke, then kicked Moria away.
Moria was instantly sent flying backward, crashing through the city wall and falling down.
Upon seeing this, the three of them, including De Solo, thought that their captain was definitely joking with them. With this kind of strength, how could he possibly fight Kaido? What a load of bull!
"Lord Moria! Damn it! Behold my mini ghost bombs!" Perona saw Moria get kicked away and immediately conjured up a few ghost bombs and threw them out.
Looking at Perona, who is only 13 years old, Anya sighed.
"I don't want to fight with a child."
"Boom!" The mini ghost attached itself to Anya, causing a huge explosion.
"Good! We took it down!" Perona clenched her fists in celebration.
However, the three men on the side, including De Solo, did not react at all. They simply could not believe that a few bombs could kill Anya.
"Cough cough, that's quite a lot of smoke. Kids shouldn't play with firecrackers, or they'll wet the bed at night."
Anya waved her hand in front of her eyes, and was unharmed.
"What?! How is this possible?!" Perona's eyes widened and her mouth gaped open, completely unable to believe why her abilities were not working on this.
"Damn it, those negative ghosts!"
Several more ghosts flew out from Perona's hand, attempting to pass through Anya's body and induce negative emotions in her.
However, these ghosts always vanished before they could even touch Anya.
Anya, shielded by these ghosts, slowly walked towards Perona.
"Eek! Why isn't it working? Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer!" Perona collapsed to the ground, waving her arms wildly, tears welling in her eyes.
Just as Anya reached out to Perona, a shadow spear suddenly attacked from the side.
"Shadow Spear!"
"Perona, you take Absalom and go first!"
Moria crawled back from outside the castle, his head bleeding profusely.
That damned guy actually kicked him out of the castle with one kick. What kind of monster is that?
Or rather, when did my body become so weak?
Moria couldn't understand why he couldn't even withstand a single move from this kid, who he felt was not as strong as Kaido back then.
"Lord Moria! Are you alright!" Perona looked at the injured Moria and felt fear for the first time.
Before this, no one had ever been able to defeat Moria, so she had always been rather willful, but this time, she didn't know what to do.
Moria looked at the 13-year-old Perona and the unconscious Absalom beside him, and slowly said, "Anya, I've lost this time. You let Perona and Absalom go, and I'll stay and fight you one-on-one!"
Perona burst into tears, then looked at Anya: "Lord Moria! Please, please, spare Lord Moria!"
Anya watched the touching father-daughter scene unfold before her, somewhat speechless.
"The captain seems like a bad guy," Sikelol whispered to himself.
"Yes, it seems the captain really went all out," De Solo agreed.
Anya: ...Are you guys itching for a beating too?
