Zerg: I was picked up by the cold and beautiful Major General at the start of the game.
Chapter 52 Perilous Situation
Hawke said with a relaxed expression, "Major General, the target signal is clear, it's in the core module of the abandoned space station ahead. The operation is going more smoothly than expected."
Ailand stood at the command post, his gaze calmly sweeping over the various operation interfaces that displayed "Mission Complete".
The fleet is making steady progress, and everything looks impeccable.
His long, slender fingers tapped lightly on the control panel unconsciously.
It went too smoothly. The space pirates kidnapped several male insects. They couldn't possibly be unaware of what this meant. It was enough to trigger a strong counterattack from the Empire. Their defenses were limited to this.
Eland's voice was grave: "Hawk, confirm the real-time location and status of the support team again."
A moment later, Hawke replied, "Reporting, Major General, the detachment reports back that everything is proceeding as planned."
"Is this normal?" Aland had a feeling something was wrong.
Just then, a piercing alarm shattered the peace without warning!
The radar operator's voice rose sharply, his tone incredulous: "Warning! A massive influx of high-energy signals! Suddenly appearing from the blind spot behind the space station! The quantity... is uncountable! Extremely fast!"
Almost simultaneously, another female soldier shouted, "Under saturation fire! Shield energy is rapidly decreasing!"
The ship suddenly shuddered violently, and the flash of fire from the explosion streaked past the porthole! Lights flickered, and alarms blared deafeningly.
Eland grabbed the handrail to steady himself, his voice resolute: "All ships, engage! Maximum maneuver evasive maneuver! Rescue boats, retreat!"
In the chaos, the adjutant pointed to a spot on the tactical screen: "Major Admiral! Those ships! Their assault formation... it's a standard Imperial wedge attack! They're charging straight at us!"
Before the words were even finished, a beam of energy pierced through the shield like a poison needle! A low-frequency vibration that made your teeth ache came from inside the ship.
Aland suddenly groaned, pressing his hand tightly against his temple, which was suddenly throbbing with pain. The insect-like markings on his forehead appeared uncontrollably and emitted a scorching light.
Eland realized this was no ordinary attack! It was a specific attack targeting his unstable mental state!
A distorted, malicious voice came from afar, carrying a chilling mockery:
"Welcome to the grave, Major General Ailand. I hope you like this 'generous gift'."
The piercing alarm and the roar of explosions mingled. Ayland pressed one hand tightly against his burning temple, the other hand gripping the control panel, his knuckles white from the force. He forced a tremor in his voice:
"All ships, listen up! Communications officer, immediately activate the highest-strength local encryption network!"
"Measure the real-time trajectories and energy readings of those enemy ships!"
Operator: "Yes! Track locked! Abnormal readings... Their weapon system energy fluctuations are inconsistent with any known standard equipment!"
"Intermittent launches, but each launch is accompanied by an extremely strong mental interference wave!"
"Major General Ailand, how much longer can your mental sea hold out?" that eerie voice rang out again.
Another beam of light grazed the ship's hull, and the intense mental shock made Ailand sway violently. The light from the insect-like markings on his forehead flickered, almost tearing his consciousness apart.
He bit his tongue hard, the sharp pain bringing a moment of clarity.
Eland's voice was hoarse with pain, yet remained resolute:
"All assault craft, abandon your designated boarding points and launch a surprise attack on the space station from below their formation! Their objective is to destroy me; they won't be doing their utmost to stop you!"
The female soldier replied, "Understood! The assault boat has received the order!"
Seeing the assault boat successfully draw some fire and begin its infiltration on the screen, the adjutant urgently exclaimed, "Major General! Their main force is still closing in on you!"
Sweat trickled down Aland's forehead, but his eyes were sharp as knives: "Very well... let them come."
He endured the excruciating, needle-like pain in his head, yet his voice remained unusually calm and steady.
"Their target was me from the beginning, and I was the best bait."
The mysterious voice carried a teasing tone, like a cat playing with a mouse:
"Ayland, surrender. Tell your men to stop their futile resistance. Perhaps, in consideration of your cooperation, I will let them die a quick death."
A cold smile curled at the corner of Ailand's lips as he spoke in a booming voice: "Surrender? With your cowardly, underhanded tactics?"
Ailand stared at the screen, his eyes filled with a desperate, almost resolute calm. He gave the order to the encrypted communication channel:
"All female soldiers, heed my final command: I will pilot the warship in a tactical ramming attack to create a chaotic airspace."
"Assault team, seize the opportunity to rescue the people, and disengage immediately afterward. Do not wait for our ship! This is an order!"
A deathly silence fell over the fleet. Then, a faint, hoarse reply could be heard: "Yes, Rear Admiral!"
Despite the perilous situation, Ailand remained calm. He endured the intense pain emanating from his mental sea, walked out of the command room, and came to his "old friend."
This warship has been with me for a long time; I hope they can continue to exist...
"Whoosh!"
Facing the intense firepower, Ailand piloted the warship like a mad beast, charging straight towards the warship hidden behind the space pirate fleet!
The mocking tone of the mysterious voice finally vanished, replaced by a hint of surprise and doubt: "What do you want to do? Are you looking for death?!"
Amidst the violent tremors, Eland gripped the command console tightly, the insect-patterned surface burning like a branding iron, but his voice, projected to the enemy ship, was clear and resolute:
"You want me? Then come and take me! Let's see if you tear me apart first, or if my warship shatters your turtle shell first!"
The mysterious voice finally betrayed a hint of barely concealed panic: "Madman! Stop him! Stop him now!"
Countless energy beams and physical projectiles rained down on the ship like a storm.
The shields had long since shattered from overload, the ship's armor was being torn apart and melted, and the flames of the explosions flickered in the cabins.
Ailand deeply integrated himself into the warship's mental control system, raising the connection level to a limit far exceeding the safety threshold.
His nerves seemed to be one with the entire giant ship, and every evasive maneuver felt like tearing his own soul apart.
Under his control, the warship narrowly avoided deadly gunfire, as if dancing on a knife's edge.
But the cost is enormous.
The mental connection relayed every impact the warship endured back to his already collapsing mental sea without reservation.
The feeling was like countless red-hot steel needles constantly piercing the brain, or like the entire skull being torn apart by the violent energy inside.
The worm-like markings on his forehead were so bright they were almost blinding, and tiny beads of blood began to seep out, sliding down his pale cheeks.
My vision was starting to blur, and all I could hear, besides the alarms and explosions, was the piercing scream of my own blood rushing through my veins and the agonizing pain in my nerves.
He clenched his teeth so tightly that his lower lip was bitten open, and blood stained the tips of his teeth.
His target was clear—the enemy ship hidden at the very back of the fleet!
In order to break through the encirclement, Ailand smashed a path through the enemy ranks in a near-self-destructive manner, leaving a trail of devastation and chaos in his wake.
The enemy was stunned by this reckless fighting style, and their formation was briefly thrown into disarray.
And Ailand is nearing his limit.
Waves of intense mental pain assaulted his last line of consciousness; his vision began to darken at the edges, and his control of the warship showed slight lag.
A cannon shot that could have been avoided grazed the bridge, causing a violent tremor and explosion.
...Has he reached his limit...? A thought surfaced in his consciousness, which was almost overwhelmed by pain.
Just as he was about to give up, Lin Luo's bright and sunny smile suddenly flashed through his mind. Before leaving, Lin Luo had given him a tight hug...
...Is this the end?
...Will I never see him again?
