The atmosphere was more somber than last time.

Glenn, the president of the Male Protection Association, arrived with several female insects, adopting a businesslike demeanor.

"Good day, Mr. Lin Luo." President Glenn seemed to have come prepared.

"Given that Major General Ailand is currently in a deep coma, he is clearly unable to fulfill his duties as your guardian bug."

"According to the Male Insect Protection Act, the association has the right to appoint a new temporary guardian for you during the period when your guardian insect is incapacitated, to ensure that your life is properly cared for."

He turned slightly to the side, gesturing for the female insect behind him to present the folder:

"These are the profiles of several candidates we have carefully selected for you. They are all from good families, gentle in nature, and skilled in all kinds of housework and male insect care. You can..."

"I disagree." Lin Luo interrupted him directly, her voice cold and hard, without even glancing at the folder handed to her.

"Ayland is only temporarily unconscious; he will wake up. The guardianship cannot be changed."

Glenn seemed to have expected this and was not surprised. Like many young males, Lord Lin Luo naively thought that one female insect was enough. But once he was exposed to the harsh realities of society, he would realize how foolish that was!

His face wore an expression that was both tolerant and slightly helpless, as if he were looking at an ignorant child:

"Your Excellency, I understand your feelings for Major General Ailand, but the reality is that he is indeed unable to fulfill his responsibilities."

"You're still young, and you might think that feelings are enough, but social rules aren't that simple."

He changed the subject:

"If you firmly disagree with the change of guardianship, then for your safety and quality of life, the association requires you to accept at least one female insect to reside in your residence and take care of your daily life."

"This is not intended to replace Major General Ailand's position; it is merely a temporary, functional arrangement. You can think of him as a high-end domestic robot."

"I believe that even if Major General Eland were to wake up, he would not object to this reasonable choice made to ensure your well-being."

"This won't do you any harm either," Glenn said, seemingly confident.

"One of the two?" Lin Luo raised his eyes, his dark eyes devoid of warmth.

"Yes, please understand, you can choose one of them." Glenn's tone left no room for argument.

"What if I don't choose any of them?" The feeling of being forced is very unpleasant.

Glenn's smile faded slightly, and his tone became somewhat authoritative:

"Sir, I'm afraid that won't work. Ensuring the well-being of every male insect is the highest responsibility of the Male Protection Association. We must ensure that you receive the care you deserve. Please cooperate."

A brief silence fell over the living room. Lin Luo's gaze swept over Glenn's confident face, then fell on the thick stack of documents. Finally, he suddenly asked a seemingly unrelated question.

"President Glenn, I haven't been on the capital planet for even a year, have I?"

"Yes, you've been on the capital planet for exactly two months." Glenn felt that Lin Luo was stalling for time, but it didn't matter; he would eventually give in.

"Ayland's guardianship period was originally one year," Lin Luo said, trying to keep his tone calm.

"But now that Eland is in a coma and unable to provide for your life, we have the right to revoke his guardianship according to Imperial law," Glenn pressed on.

Lin Luo nodded, seemingly accepting the explanation, but then:

"As a superior male, I've been living away from home for over 20 years. Have I received the allowances and benefits that the Male Protection Association should have given me for those 20 years?"

"Of course, we transferred the money to your account after you returned and sent you a notification email. You may not have noticed it, but you can check your account and emails."

Glenn felt victory was within his grasp.

Lin Luo opened his personal terminal and found a large sum of money from the Xiongbao Association. He hadn't noticed it because Ailand frequently transferred Star Coins to his account.

His account now contains an astronomical sum of money from the Xiongbao Association, Ailand, and various other sources of revenue from the Rolling Dolls.

Lin Luo continued browsing, seemingly wanting to examine things more carefully, and didn't do anything else for a long time.

Glenn and his group waited patiently without disturbing them.

After a long silence, Lin Luo shut down his personal terminal, his expression unreadable: "I saw it. Then tell me, why do the other male insects have so many females?"

Glenn smiled slightly, happy to explain to the naive male insect in front of him: "Of course, it's to allow you male insects to live a more comfortable and prosperous life."

"Only a sufficient number of female insects, each with its own strengths, can serve a distinguished guest meticulously in all aspects of life, from daily living to security protection."

"Moreover," he paused, his tone ambiguous, "a single female insect probably couldn't withstand your... torment."

Lin Luo completely ignored his lewd implication and spoke sharply:

"I now have a steady income from the Rolling Dolls, and the allowances you've accumulated over the years. These two items alone constitute a huge sum that most female insects could never achieve in their entire lives. Do I need any other female insects' wealth to secure my livelihood?"

Glenn opened his mouth, wanting to argue that wealth wasn't the only consideration, but Lin Luo interrupted him directly:

"Furthermore, according to Imperial law, the guardianship period for Ailand is one year. Similarly, as a newly returned male insect, I enjoy a one-year 'social adaptation and protection period'."

"During this year, in order to integrate and adapt to society as much as possible, I enjoy all the rights that male insects have, without having to bear the reproductive obligations of male insects."

Lin Luo looked directly at Glenn and asked, word by word, "What I said, is it right?"

Glenn's composure finally crumbled. "But that was a special provision for wartime, a temporary clause! Now..."

"Since it was written into the law," Lin Luo interrupted bluntly, "and hasn't been formally repealed by the Imperial Council, then it's valid!"

"This!..." Glenn was speechless for a moment.

"But, Your Excellency!" He paused, trying to salvage the situation:

"Your one-year protection period will eventually end. If Aland fails to awaken by then, you will still be forcibly matched. Why don't you choose someone you like in advance?"

Glenn truly couldn't understand Lin Luo's stubbornness.

"You said it yourself, that's a year from now!" Lin Luo said sarcastically.

"And what makes you so certain now that Aland will never wake up?!"

Glenn blurted out, "Lord Linluo, I've also heard about Ayland's injuries; his mental state is on the verge of collapse. Why cling to such a slim hope and stubbornly persist with unrealistic fantasies?"

"Enough!" Lin Luo's patience finally ran out, his voice as cold and hard as ice:

"President Glenn, this is my final decision. You cannot force me to do anything during the protection period. Show him out!"

"you!--"

Glenn was so angry that his face turned blue. As a B-grade male insect and the president of the Male Protection Association, he had never been so directly expelled.

His chest heaved violently a few times, but he finally suppressed his anger and spoke in a cold tone:

"Very well, Lord Lin Luo! I respect your current choice, and I hope you won't regret it. I'll be waiting for the day you're forcibly matched!"

After saying that, he turned and strode away in a fit of anger, with the other female insects quickly following him.

The living room door slammed shut. Lin Luo sat in his original position, his clenched fists slowly loosening, cold sweat already seeping from his back.

He knew this was only the first round; bigger storms were likely yet to come.
