The next day, Lin Luo woke up in the luxurious lounge.

I spent most of last night playing with my personal computer, getting a superficial understanding of this world, just from the seemingly ordinary news, forum discussions, and official announcements in the public square…

This alone was enough to repeatedly challenge his worldview, given the vast disparity in status between men and women here.

Male insects hold a revered status, etched into every corner of society in an almost sacred manner.

The legal provisions clearly state:

The life safety and wishes of the male insect are the highest priority. Any form of harm or disobedience to the male insect will be subject to the death penalty or exile.

The news report described how a male insect, in a bad mood, arbitrarily broke a contract, causing the bankruptcy of a mid-sized female insect family, and the comments were almost unanimously in his favor.

"Whatever makes you happy."

"It is their honor to have their contract rescinded by Your Excellency."

On social media platforms, female insects share techniques on how to attract the attention of male insects, and even consider it the highest honor to become a male insect's female servant, even if it is only for a brief moment of comfort.

In stark contrast to this extreme reverence is the pervasive pain and repression experienced by the female insect.

This society is abnormal, and Lin Luo is acutely aware of this.

He suddenly felt glad that he had agreed to the deal with Elland. Otherwise, how a pity it would have been if the bright moon, which should have been hanging in the sky, had fallen to the ground and been covered in mud.

"I'm just a nobody who likes to eat, drink, and have fun. I can't change anything. I just hope this trip to another world can end when I've had my fill of fun," Lin Luo thought to himself.

He got up, finished the nutrient solution on the table, and decided to go out for a walk to see what the inside of a real interstellar warship was like.

He hadn't gone far when he encountered two female soldiers conducting routine equipment checks in the passageway.

The two soldiers froze upon seeing him, nearly dropping their detectors. Their faces flushed red, and they stammered a salute.

"Lord Lin, Lin Luo! Good day!"

Lin Luo was amused by their tense demeanor and waved his hand with a smile:

"Good day, are you busy? What kind of equipment is this?" He curiously leaned over to take a look.

"Reporting, Your Excellency! It's just a routine pressure check of the energy pipelines!"

One of the soldiers was so excited his voice almost trembled, "It's...it's an incredibly tedious job! I wouldn't dare take up your time!"

"Boring? I find it quite interesting." Lin Luo watched with great interest as they manipulated the data stream on the screen.

"Such a large warship, it operates with all these densely packed pipes? That's amazing."

He made a casual remark, but the two soldiers seemed to hear the highest honor, their chests puffing out involuntarily, their faces beaming with barely suppressed excitement and a sense of glory.

"It's our honor to serve you!" the two said in unison, their voices loud and clear.

After Lin Luo left with a smile, one of the soldiers immediately pulled out his personal communicator and frantically typed in the internal group chat:

[Lord Lin Luo just spoke to me! He even praised our work! His smile is so handsome! And he's so approachable!]

The group chat exploded instantly:

【What?! Which area?! I want to patrol too!】

[Envious! Did you mention what kind of female military officer you like?]

[Wake up! You were just being friendly! But... you do seem to prefer us female soldiers?]

Do you think I have a chance to ask you out?

【Are you crazy?! Go to sleep like that, you're so drunk! That's a noble male insect!】

……

Lin Luo continued strolling leisurely, and just then he saw Hawke carrying a stack of documents passing by. His eyes lit up, and he called out, "Hawk!"

"Sir, what are your orders?" Hawke immediately stopped in his tracks.

"Nothing much, I was just browsing around and happened to see you."

Lin Luo looked at the insignia on his shoulder with curiosity. "Hey, I still don't know what your rank is."

"Your Excellency, I am a lieutenant colonel and currently serve as Major General Ailand's adjutant," Hawke replied earnestly.

"Lieutenant Colonel? You became a lieutenant colonel at such a young age, you're amazing!" Lin Luo exclaimed sincerely.

A hint of embarrassment flashed across Hawke's face, and he quickly shook his head:

"What I've done is nothing special; you flatter me. The truly remarkable one is our Major General!"

Once Hawke started talking about his major general, he couldn't stop, his eyes shining:

"Don't be fooled by how smoothly this campaign against the star beasts seems to have gone; it's only because a major general is in command!"

Last year in the Obsidian Sector, our patrol was ambushed. The Major General single-handedly held off three large Corrosive Star Beasts for a full half hour, buying us precious time to provide reinforcements!

"There was also the earlier Battle of Kerken Gap, when the defensive line was almost breached."

The major general personally led the assault team, using the asteroid belt as cover to outflank the enemy and launch a surprise attack, turning the tide of the battle. That operation was listed by the military as a classic case of a surprise attack.

And don't let his serious demeanor fool you, he's actually incredibly meticulous.

Before several large-scale battles, he predicted the warp points of the Star Beasts and laid traps, allowing us to achieve the greatest results with the least cost. Everyone in our Seventh Fleet admires him!

He spoke at length about Ailand's glorious achievements, his tone full of admiration.

Lin Luo listened with great interest and then asked, "What about when he's not fighting? Is he this serious too?"

Hawke thought for a moment, then lowered his voice slightly:

"The major general... actually has a little hobby in private. He cherishes that 'iron thorn' plant in his office, but he can never seem to keep it in good condition."

Also, he once rescued an injured, furry little creature on a border planet. It was probably some kind of non-intelligent being, and he secretly kept it in his mansion, even feeding and grooming it himself.

Hawke said, finding it a little funny himself.

"Just don't bring it up in person, the major general will be embarrassed."

Lin Luo imagined Ailand watering the potted plants with a serious expression, or petting small animals with a blank face, and couldn't help but burst out laughing:

"Wow, I never would have guessed!" The contrast is quite striking.

Just then, Dr. Parks, the military doctor, happened to pass by, saw Lin Luo, and solemnly bowed:

"Good day, Your Excellency Lin Luo. Thank you again for your assistance to the Major General last time."

"It's nothing, just a small favor," Lin Luo waved his hand.

Dr. Parks, however, took it very seriously:

"It may be a small favor for you, but it is of great significance to the Major General."

You have no idea how much pain he had to endure after each mental outburst; it was almost like burning his life force to keep going.

Your arrival is the biggest turning point for him and for our entire Seventh Fleet. After this, he can at least rest peacefully for a while.

"I will help him." Lin Luo's smile faded slightly, and she felt a little uneasy.

Hawke and Parks exchanged a glance at Lin Luo's thoughtful expression.

Dr. Parks bowed slightly, his tone gentle:

"Sir, if you have no further questions, please allow us to excuse ourselves for a moment, as there are still some follow-up matters to be handled over there."

Hawke respectfully added:

"Yes, Your Excellency, we are nearby. Please feel free to call us if you need anything."

Lin Luo snapped out of her thoughts and quickly nodded, "You guys go ahead and get busy, don't worry about me."

After walking a few steps away, Parks couldn't help but whisper to Hawke:

"If, and I mean if, you could stay by the Major General's side, or even become his superior, that would be the best possible outcome."

Hawke wholeheartedly agreed:

"Indeed! Your gentle nature and unique abilities make you a gift from the Insect God, compared to those male insects on the capital planet who only know how to torment insects!"

Parks nodded: "Most importantly, his reassurance really worked on the Major General! You see, the Major General looks much better lately."

"If my mental state can gradually recover... maybe the Major General won't need to rely on those harmful drugs anymore." He envisioned the future with a hopeful tone.

Hawke also dreamed, "At that time, the Major General will definitely be able to..."

"Hawk, Parks!"

A cold voice suddenly rang out from not far behind them, interrupting the two insects' whispers.

The two men froze, instantly standing at attention: "Major General!"

Ayland's expression remained calm, but there seemed to be a slight blush at the tips of his ears. He glanced at his two subordinates and asked, "Are you both very free?"

"Your subordinates take their leave!" Hawke and Parks, feeling as if they had been granted a pardon, immediately made their escape.

Only then did Ailand turn his gaze to Lin Luo, who was standing to the side with a slightly mischievous smile on his face, and softened his tone:

"Did they bother you?"

Lin Luo said with a grin:

"No, Lieutenant Colonel Hawke told me stories about how you secretly kept small animals and killed your potted plants!"

Eland: "..." He decided to give Hawke extra training until midnight tonight.
