Garrett opened the door as daylight streamed into the room through the porthole.

The sight that came into view made him frown instantly. Lin Luo was leisurely reclining on the sofa, his hair slightly damp, his clothes loose, and his expression lazy and carefree, as if he were just taking a nap in his own home.

On the bed, his older brother still had his eyes closed, showing no signs of waking up.

Garrett's anger flared, and his voice turned cold: "Your Excellency?"

Lin Luo glanced at him lazily, her tone carrying a hint of displeasure at being disturbed:

"What's the rush? His mental state is so damaged, do you think it's a minor injury that can be completely healed in one go? You're oversimplifying things."

Garrett suppressed his anger, strode to the bedside, and bent down to examine the bed closely.

The female insect's clothes were loosely worn, clearly tidied up casually by Lin Luo afterward.

Her neckline was slightly open, and faint bruises and light red marks could be seen scattered on her neck, collarbone, and even arms.

However, there was no blood, no gruesome whip marks, and no strangulation marks on the neck.

At first glance, it looked much better than he knew about the relationship; it seemed as if the couple had been treated gently.

It seems that yesterday's deterrence was quite effective; for the sake of his own life, you dare not act entirely according to your own whims.

To his slight relief, his elder brother's ashen complexion had indeed softened somewhat, and the pain lines that had been lingering between his brows seemed to have faded a little.

He remained silent, carefully tidying up his elder brother's clothes and covering him with the blanket before turning around and looking intently at Lin Luo:

"Your Excellency, in order for you to return to the capital planet as soon as possible and safely, I hope this process can be expedited."

Upon hearing this, Lin Luo's face showed obvious displeasure. He sat up straight, his tone carrying the arrogance and rebuttal characteristic of an A-grade male insect:

"You know perfectly well what state his mental state is in! With such severe injuries, any other male insect probably wouldn't even be able to get close!"

"Only I could make a difference in his condition overnight. Otherwise, why would you go through all that trouble to 'kidnap' me?"

He paused, then waved his hand impatiently:

"Besides, don't worry, I'm even more eager to leave this awful place than you are. You don't need to urge me; I'll make the effort myself."

Garrett said no more, gestured to the side, and several female insects silently entered the room.

Some of the insects were arranging something in the room. One of the female insects stepped forward and placed two tubes of silver-gray nutrient solution on the table in front of Lin Luo, her posture respectful.

"Sir, for your health, please take the nutritional supplement."

Lin Luo glanced at the unappetizing liquid food and let out a soft scoff: "Ha, this is what you serve me?"

"We have limited resources, and we hope you will understand," Garrett's voice came from behind, his tone unreadable.

Lin Luo grabbed the nutrient solution, unscrewed the cap, tilted his head back, and gulped it down in a few mouthfuls. He then tossed the empty tube back onto the table and looked up at Garrett: "Satisfied?"

"That would be best," Garrett replied expressionlessly, then asked, "Sir, according to your estimate, how long will it take to complete the appeasement?"

"You're asking me?" Lin Luo frowned, appearing extremely impatient.

"His mental sea is like a broken sieve. To what extent can it be repaired to be considered 'complete'? I'm not a machine; I can't give you a precise reading. I can only guarantee that it will be done as quickly and as much as possible."

Garrett stared at him for two seconds, then finally nodded: "Alright, I hope you'll keep your word."

After he finished speaking, he ignored Lin Luo and walked to the bedside. He carefully lifted the unconscious female insect and patiently fed her a tube of nutrients.

After finishing, he turned back to Lin Luo: "I have prepared a change of clothes and necessary daily necessities for you. Please feel free to use them."

He paused briefly before adding, "I'll be handling business outside during the day. You can call me anytime if you need anything, and I'll try my best to meet reasonable requests."

Lin Luo immediately retorted, "It sounds like I can't leave this bedroom?"

Garrett gave a fake smile, but his tone was firm: "Yes, I'm afraid you'll have to stay here for the time being until the mission is completed."

------

Inside the solemn council chamber, Marshal Arnold stood beneath the throne, his voice steady and powerful, echoing through the empty hall.

"Your Majesty, the operation to suppress the rebels has achieved a preliminary victory."

"Our army successfully recovered the two resource planets 'Tallinn' and 'Redstone' that they had occupied, destroyed seventeen of their main ground strongholds, seized eight illegal armed ships, and annihilated and captured more than 3,400 rebel troops."

"The remaining enemy forces have broken up and fled to an unknown star system. Our army is cooperating with the intelligence department to carry out follow-up cleanup and pursuit. The situation is now completely under control."

On the throne, the Insect King lightly tapped the armrest with his fingertips: "Hmm, well done, Arnold. You always put the Empire at ease."

He abruptly changed the subject, his tone calm yet carrying an invisible pressure:

"So, what about Lin Luo's disappearance case? He's been missing for several days now, right? What's the progress?"

Arnold, however, remained outwardly calm and reported the facts truthfully:

"Your Majesty, the military attaches great importance to this matter. Colonel Hawke of the Seventh Fleet personally led a team to conduct a comprehensive search of the relevant star system, using all technical means, including long-range life signal detection and jump trajectory tracing."

"At the same time, the Capital Star Patrol Team has formed a joint investigation team with the Defense Force and is conducting a thorough search of the area surrounding your disappearance, as well as tracing the source of all suspicious targets who have recently entered or left the Capital Star."

He paused slightly: "We believe that with the full cooperation of the military and the patrol teams, we will soon be able to locate Lord Lin Luo and bring him back safely."

The Insect King listened quietly, offering no comment, only saying indifferently:

"I hope so. The safety of an A-rank male insect is not just a matter for himself. Don't let the Empire down, Marshal."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Arnold bowed his head in greeting.

The Insect King casually instructed, "Tok, go see the Marshal off."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Tok, who had been standing quietly to the side, stepped forward with light and silent steps.

He walked up to Arnold, turned slightly to the side, and lowered his eyes, saying, "Marshal, please."

Arnold's gaze lingered briefly on his face, a deep look, but he said nothing and silently turned and walked out of the hall.

Tok quietly followed half a step behind him until he escorted Arnold to the palace gates.

The palace doors closed behind him, isolating him from the luxury and oppressive atmosphere inside.

Arnold finally stopped, turned around, and carefully examined the female insect in front of him.

With his back to the palace, he looked at Tok with concern, scrutinizing his complexion.

She looks a little better than when I last saw her; at least she's no longer so emaciated.

"Are you alright?" The marshal broke the silence.

Tok kept his head slightly lowered throughout.

"Marshal, I am no longer a female soldier, but now I am His Majesty's attendant. There is nothing wrong with that, so please take note."

Arnold's Adam's apple bobbed slightly, as if he wanted to say something, but ultimately he didn't know what to say.

This silence seems more unbearable than words.

Tok spoke again: "If the Marshal has no further instructions, Tok will take his leave. Please... take care."

After saying this, he bowed respectfully, maintaining a farewell posture, and waited for Arnold to leave.

Arnold, noticing his aloof attitude, gave Tok a deep look before turning and leaving.
