I revived the Demonic Sect in North America

Chapter 1 The Night of the Annihilation of the Hehuan Sect

At 2:45 a.m. on June 23, 2010, it was drizzling in the Bronx, New York.

A metallic hiss suddenly erupted from outside the entrance of an underground clubhouse converted from an abandoned warehouse:

"NYPD (New York City Police Department) has been ordered to raid illegal prostitution and drug trafficking! We have a search warrant! Open the door!"

Before anyone in the store could react, a giant police-issue hammer had already smashed open the door latch.

Several police stun grenades were thrown into the room, and the blinding white light and loud noise instantly filled the front hall.

Fully armed NYPD emergency response team members surged in like a black tide.

"NYPD! Hands up! Lie face down, don't move!"

The clubhouse instantly descended into hellish chaos.

The gambling table was overturned, and chips and cards flew everywhere.

Naked women and men, their bodies scattered like headless flies, stumbled about aimlessly.

It's unclear which side fired first, but like a whistle, both sides immediately began exchanging fire wildly.

Li Ang, who was inside the store, reacted the moment the loudspeaker rang.

He threw down the microphone, rolled off the DJ booth, covered his head with his hands, and curled up into a ball.

The movements seemed to have been rehearsed countless times, so skillful it was heartbreaking.

The sounds of .45 caliber pistols and 9mm submachine guns were deafening in the confined space.

The bullets struck the concrete wall, sending sparks flying.

Li Ang heard people groaning and collapsing all over the store, and many more crying and begging for mercy.

The gunfire stopped in less than three minutes.

Just then, a voice suddenly rang in Li Ang's mind:

[Ding~ Detected that the Demonic Sect to which the host belongs has been wiped out. As the sole surviving disciple, the host is hereby appointed as the Sect Master and bound to the Sect Revival System.]

This system is dedicated to cultivating the host into a qualified leader of the Demonic Sect, making the Demonic Sect great once again!

[Ding~ The Demonic Sect is being besieged by the Imperial Six Doors. The host is now isolated and helpless. Mission triggered: The Night of the Demonic Sect's Annihilation.]

[Mission Objective: Escape the Six Doors' encirclement and survive!]

[Quest Reward: Heavenly Secret Talisman x1]

What the hell?

Reviving the sect system?

The Night the Demonic Sect Was Annihilated?

Li Ang was stunned for a moment, thinking he was hallucinating.

However, he could see the system's message prompts as soon as he closed his eyes.

This is real, not an illusion!

But what exactly are these Demonic Sect and the Six Doors of the Imperial Court?

Before Li Ang could figure it out, the NYPD had already begun searching the store, their flashlight beams sweeping over him.

Li Ang quickly raised both hands high above his head, fingers spread wide, and shouted:

"I have no weapon! I have no weapon! I don't know anything! Officer, I'm a law-abiding citizen!"

"Come out, kneel down, and put your hands behind your head."

Li Ang crawled out from under the DJ booth and obediently did as he was told.

He secretly glanced to the side and, sure enough, saw that Smith, the club owner who had hired himself to sing, and his henchmen had all been shot dead by the police.

Even the dozen or so people who had smuggled themselves in from Russia and Mexico were not spared because they took up arms to fight back.

Of all the staff at the club, only Li Ang remained alive.

Li Ang was immediately shocked. Could this be the "Night of the Demonic Sect's Annihilation" that the system was referring to?

A middle-aged white police officer stepped forward and searched Li Ang. After confirming that Li Ang was not carrying a weapon, he looked down at Li Ang and coldly said:

"Hey, man, I'm Detective Michael Miller, ID 8327. You know Miranda's warning? You have the right to remain silent..."

"Officer, I understand! I'll cooperate!"

Li Ang immediately put on a typical obedient Chinese-American smile and said sensibly:

"I'll cooperate with anything, Officer Miller, I just want to go home."

Miller raised an eyebrow and sneered:

"Then let me see if you're really serious about wanting to go home. I'll ask, you answer, and don't interrupt anymore, okay?"

"Yes, officer."

"Name?"

"Li Ang".

Miller paused for a moment, looking at Li Ang's handsome face, which resembled a young version of John Lone, and asked:

"An international student from the University of Tokyo?"

"No, officer, I'm a Chinese American. My parents are from East Coast University."

"age?"

"sixteen."

Miller was stunned again.

Only sixteen?

He was somewhat skeptical and asked:

Where are your identification documents?

Li Ang did not act rashly, but cautiously sought instructions:

"It's in my pocket, may I take it out, officer?"

Miller nodded.

Li Ang took out his wallet, took out his student ID, and handed it to Miller.

Miller squinted and glanced at it:

"River Valley High School, tenth grade?"

"Yes, officer."

"Oh, Shit!"

In New York, dealing with a juvenile offender is very risky for the police; a slight misstep can attract a barrage of attacks from the Department of the Interior and the media, causing a huge commotion.

In the best-case scenario, one might simply receive administrative leave; in the worst-case scenario, one could even be prosecuted and sued to the point of financial ruin.

Miller immediately sensed something was wrong and said irritably:

"What are you doing here, a high school student?"

Li Ang hurriedly defended himself:

"Mr. Smith, the owner of the club, hired me to sing here. I just sing and tinker with the sound system."

Li Ang gestured with his chin toward the DJ booth in the corner:

"I really don't know anything else, and I've never touched anything else."

Miller still looked doubtful:

"You're really here to sing, not to sell your ass?"

"Absolutely true, sir!"

Miller breathed a sigh of relief:

"Do you come here for your part-time job every night?"

"No, I come three times a week."

Do your parents know?

"Officer, I have no parents."

"ha?"

"My parents both died two years ago when our house caught fire."

Miller paused for a moment, then asked:

"So who is your guardian now?"

"Miss Fiona Gallagher, she used to be the doctor at my community clinic, she adopted me, and I usually call her sister."

Does she know you're working part-time here?

"She doesn't know."

Miller snorted coldly:

"Oh, she'll find out soon enough. We need to call her over and let her know you've done something wrong."

"I'm sorry, Officer Miller, but I had to say that Fiona can't make it tonight."

Miller frowned and said:

"She's your guardian, and she can't even be present at such an important case? What, is she busy dating at some budget hotel?"

"No, officer. Fiona was diagnosed with kidney failure six months ago and has to go to the community hospital for dialysis three times a week. I work part-time here while she's on dialysis."

"What about Fiona's other family members? Don't they care about you?"

"Officer, I am Fiona's only family member."

Miller was rendered silent.

After a long pause, Miller finally spoke:

"So you're working part-time here to earn money for your sister's dialysis treatment?"

"Yes, sir."

Li Ang raised his head and earnestly prayed:

"Officer Miller, could you please not tell Fiona about my part-time job? She's really not in good health, I'm worried about her..."

"I'm sorry, child. These are the rules."

Miller shrugged and spoke into the walkie-talkie on his shoulder:

"8327 dispatch. Please help verify if there is a kidney failure patient, Fiona Gallagher, currently undergoing dialysis at Bronx Community Hospital?"

"Also, please help me look up a child's file. His name is Li Ang, he's sixteen years old, and his address is..."

Soon, the dispatcher's voice came through the walkie-talkie confirming:

"8327, dispatcher's reply: Bronx Community Hospital has confirmed that a 27-year-old female patient named Fiona is indeed undergoing routine dialysis at the hospital, which is expected to end at 5:00 AM."

"The juvenile record investigation shows that Li Ang has no criminal record, no protection order record, and is under the legal guardianship of Fiona Gallagher."

"receive."

After Miller confirmed the information, he looked at Leon again, his expression completely softened:

"Listen, child. Your story is currently airtight, and the records are clean. I don't want to make things difficult for you."

Li Ang was overjoyed and quickly asked:

"Thank you so much, officer. May I go now?"

Miller shook his head and pulled Leon, who was kneeling, to his feet:

"Not yet. Although I have dropped the charges against you, as a minor witness, we still need to take your statement. Then I will arrange for a colleague to take you to the community hospital so that your guardian can wake up and we can explain the situation to her. The prosecutor's office will also summon you as a witness at any time."

Li Ang knew this was the best outcome he could achieve, and quickly nodded:

"Okay, officer."

Miller hesitated for a moment, then said:

"Hey kid, I have a family too... I mean, I understand your determination to save your family, but please don't do such dangerous part-time jobs anymore, okay?"

Li Ang looked grateful.

"I know, thank you, officer, you're a good person."

Miller nodded, turned around and waved behind him.

"Karen! Come here for a second."

A young policewoman walked briskly over.

Although the occasion was somewhat inappropriate, Li Ang couldn't help but be struck by the sight.

Because this policewoman named Karen Jackson is just too beautiful.

She has sweet and delicate features, and fair and supple skin.

She's exactly Li Ang's type.

The only downside was that the girl's expression was very cold, making her seem unapproachable.

(She might not look that good in uniform, so I've attached some candid photos here.)

"Karen, this is Leon, the witness in this case. Take him for a drug test and then give him a formal statement. After that, drive him to Bronx Community Hospital, hand him over to his guardian, and explain to the guardian what happened tonight."

Karen looked Li Ang up and down, still cold and unresponsive, her green eyes showing no emotion.

"Okay, Officer Miller."

Karen saluted, turned to Li Ang, took out a pair of handcuffs from her waist, and made as if to cuff Li Ang.

Miller quickly stopped him:

"Hey Karen, what are you doing?"

Karen said coldly:

"Officer Miller, I am handcuffing the suspect in accordance with the standard procedure outlined in the NYPD Manual."

Miller stood with one hand on his hip and the other covering his eyes, looking as if he couldn't bear to look at him.

"Oh my God, Karen, this kid is a witness, not a suspect. He's only sixteen. That's all I can tell you from your body camera!"

Karen silently put the handcuffs back on her tactical belt, then decisively grabbed Li Ang's arm and walked out.

The instant Karen touched Li Ang, a system notification suddenly sounded in Li Ang's mind:

[Ding! Mid-grade furnace cauldron detected - Iceberg Beauty!]
