Chapter 149 Terrifying Power!

Second gear, 10 yards.

The lumberjacks serve.

"This time we must succeed."

Kyle yelled, "Ready, set, kickoff!"

The center's powerful crossover slammed into Kyle's hand with spin.

He received the ball and retreated, five steps, seven steps, his eyes scanning the entire field like radar.

However, the Cavaliers' defense was even more ferocious this time.

As soon as the two front lines made contact, the lumberjacks' pocket began to deform.

Bruce, who was getting stronger with each battle, had already gotten past the offensive tackle with a beautiful Fishman dribble.

It lunged at Kyle with its claws outstretched.

In terms of burst speed, Bruce's speed is not much slower than Leon's without using any skills.

too fast.

Kyle didn't have time to see the long route ahead; he caught a glimpse of the running back already in position out of the corner of his eye.

We have to pass the ball!

The short pass behind the screen was an emergency plan that had been practiced countless times before the match.

He twisted his waist and extended his arm, sending the rugby spinning in a low, flat arc as it flew steadily toward the running back's chest.

The running back caught it.

In the instant he turned around, he saw a gap between the Cavaliers' defensive players.

In theory, he should be able to break through from here and advance at least five or six yards.

But clearly, his theory didn't account for the Cavaliers' most fearsome number 21.

Li Ang's timing for initiating the attack was terrifyingly precise.

He wasn't fooled by the fake run and ignored the wide receiver's feint to block, recognizing it as a screen pass the instant the ball was thrown.

He bypassed the close-range striker who was trying to block him.

It was a pull that was almost a foul, but the referee didn't blow the whistle.

Li Ang didn't dwell on this. He simply lowered his center of gravity and, like a deep blue scalpel, slashed diagonally in.

The lumberjacks' running back had just finished turning and hadn't even had time to fully accelerate.

Then he saw the figure that filled his vision through the mask.

The running back cursed under his breath: "Damn it!"

'

Li Ang's left shoulder struck the running back's right ribs with pinpoint accuracy.

The protective gear collided with each other, producing a dull thud, like someone hitting a sandbag with a wooden mallet.

His arms wrapped around the running back's waist like iron hoops, and he used his core strength to push off the ground with his legs.

Using the momentum, lift the opponent completely off the ground.

The running back spun half a circle in the air.

The world spun upside down before his eyes: blue sky, grass, and gaping mouths in the stands.

Then came the dark green grass that kept getting closer.

boom!

He landed on his back, all the air was squeezed out of his lungs, and a burst of white stars exploded before his eyes.

The rugby ball rolled out of his loose fingers, bounced twice on the grass, and came to a stop.

Commentator Larry Jones practically jumped out of his chair, his headphone cord snapping taut.

He held his headset in one hand and pointed at the field with the other: "My God! Leon! It's Leon again! A textbook tackle! Running back Miller was sent spinning halfway through the air! Look at the replay, he didn't even see the fake, he just cut straight in! Speed, timing, power, perfect! That tackle only gave the Timbers 2 yards! 2 yards!"

He caught his breath, grabbed his water glass, gulped down a mouthful, and continued to roar, "What is this guy made of?! The impact of that tackle, his strength level is totally at the level of a five-star academy student! What kind of crack in the rock did he spring from?!"

'

In the stands, the yellow wave seemed to have been muted.

Two full seconds of deathly silence.

Then erupted a chaotic roar, gasps of surprise, and incredulous shouts of "What the hell!" interspersed with a few Cavaliers fans jumping up and waving blue towels in cheers.

A middle-aged man wearing a lumberjack's hat with antlers held his head and yelled at his wife beside him, "How could he be so fast?! Our screen tactic has never been torn apart like this before!"

On the court, the Cavaliers' defense also went haywire.

Bruce was the first to rush over.

His smile was so wide you could see his back teeth.

He slapped Li Ang hard on the back of his shoulder armor and shouted excitedly, "You're so cool, Li Ang! And what's with that strength?! Those lumberjacks are probably discussing whether to call an ambulance right now!"

Li Ang stood up amidst the crowd.

Pushing off the mask, sweat-dampened black hair clung to his forehead.

He didn't laugh, and even his breathing wasn't too disordered.

He simply raised his hand calmly and wiped away the bits of grass that had splashed onto his mask with the back of his hand.

"Only second gear. Stay focused. They'll still use the screen, but they'll change direction. Bruce, watch out for the weak-side tank's retreat."

Bruce grinned excitedly and said, "Okay, no problem, bro!"

'

"Return to your position!"

Li Ang was the first to turn around and walk back to his defensive position.

His steps were steady, his back straight, as if the tack that had ignited the entire arena was just a routine stretch during warm-up.

The teammates looked at each other in disbelief: "Is this kid made of iron?"

'

"It's made of ice. But damn it, having him in the backcourt makes me feel really safe."

On the other side, the atmosphere in the Lumberjacks' offensive group was as somber as a funeral.

The running back was pulled up by the left guard and the right tackle.

The first thing he did after regaining his balance was to bend over and cough, and then he subconsciously pressed his hand under his right rib.

It burned there, and every breath felt like being pricked by needles.

The running back cursed under his breath, his voice hoarse: "Damn it, where did that damn number 21 come from?"

'

Left guard scratched his helmet, his expression puzzled beneath the mask: "I clearly blocked that center, when did he get around him?"

'

The center, a six-year veteran, his face grim, spoke in a hoarse voice: "I saw it. He completely ignored our screen setup. He cut to the outside the instant we started the inbounds pass, as fast as a fucking ghost. Running back, are your ribs okay?"

'

The running ward shook his head, then nodded, his expression contorted: "I won't die, but it fucking hurts. That kid hit people like a truck."

Kyle's voice broke in.

He clapped his hands, gathering the attacking group into a tight circle.

Sweat streamed down his cheekbones, but he forced his voice to remain steady.

He even forced a smile: "It's just one gear, it's fine. From now on, we'll play our own game!"

6

He lowered his voice, speaking at a rapid-fire pace: "They probably think we're going to switch sides and play the screen. We're not. We're playing the triple option. Tom, you and Mike do a crossblock to clear the right lane for me. Running back, you fake a screen block, then immediately turn and do my read option. If that number 21 tackles you, I'll rush in myself. If he's marking me, I'll pass to you. Got it?"

66

The running back hesitated for a moment: "Kyle, that kid is too fast, I'm afraid I won't be able to shake him off!"

6

Kyle interrupted him, a ruthless glint in his icy blue eyes: "You don't need to shake him off. You just need to hold him off for a second. In a second, I can get past you."

33

Center Tom nodded and nudged Kyle with his braced shoulder: "Leave it to me. But you'd better hurry, their defensive line is on steroids today."

Kyle put on his helmet and walked back to his offensive position.

He took a deep breath, trying to exhale the burning anxiety in his lungs.

My gaze involuntarily drifted toward the opponent's half of the court.

The number 21 stood quietly in the right cornerback position, slightly lowering his center of gravity, with his hands on his knees, like a sprinter waiting for the starting gun.
