Chapter 159 Maid Maria

It was nearly midnight when Li Ang ran all the way back to Karen's apartment.

He gently opened the door with the key that Karen had specially given him.

Only one dim wall lamp was on in the living room.

Karen didn't sleep.

She was wearing the dark blue silk robe that Li Ang was familiar with.

She curled up in a corner of the sofa, hugging her knees.

The TV was on silent, and blurry light and shadow flickered on the screen.

Hearing the door open, she immediately turned around.

The worry in his eyes eased slightly when he saw Li Ang's unharmed figure.

But then immediately tensed up again.

Because she could smell the lingering smell of gunpowder and blood on Li Ang.

Karen didn't say anything, but stood up and walked over quickly.

In the dim light of the entryway, she looked closely at Li Ang's face.

Then, she hugged him tightly.

He wrapped his arms around Li Ang's back with great force, as if to confirm that Li Ang was real.

She buried her face in Li Ang's neck and shoulder, and took a deep breath.

His body trembled almost imperceptibly.

"You're back." Karen's voice was muffled inside Li Ang's clothes, sounding somewhat hoarse.

I don't know if I just cried.

"Yes, you're back." Li Ang hugged her back.

His hand stroked her slightly stiff back beneath her silk nightgown.

I could feel her heart beating very fast.

It took Karen quite a while before she released Li Ang.

But she still held his arm with both hands and looked up at him.

The light from the wall lamp reflected in her grey-blue eyes, which were churning with complex emotions.

Fear, relief, resolve, and an overwhelming sense of worry.

"Li Ang, listen to me. I don't care what you dealt with tonight, or where those abilities you possess—which I can't comprehend—came from. But remember, I'm a policeman, but before that, I'm your man."

She squeezed Li Ang's arm hard, her fingertips turning slightly white: "If you need help, if you need someone to help you clean up the scene, create an alibi, or even shut some people up, don't think I can't or won't do it just because of my uniform."

"I'd do anything for you, for Fiona. Do you understand? Don't shoulder everything alone."

Li Ang looked at the undisguised fervor and determination in Karen's eyes.

It felt like something warm yet heavy had struck my heart.

His Adam's apple bobbed as he reached out and cupped her face in his hands.

He gently brushed his thumb across the corner of her slightly reddened eyes.

"I understand, Karen."

Li Ang's voice was low and deep.

"But this time it's really okay. Everything's been taken care of. I can't, and I don't want to, drag you into that kind of place."

"That kind of place?"

Karen tugged at the corners of her mouth, revealing a smile that was almost bitter.

"Do you think I care? Li Ang, from the day I decided to be with you, I knew you were extraordinary. But I still choose to believe in you. Next time you take action, at least let me know where you are and what you're doing. Don't leave me waiting like a fool, my mind filled with—"

She didn't finish speaking; she just hugged him tightly again, swallowing the rest of her words.

Li Ang didn't know what to say.

He simply kissed Karen fiercely.

Karen was unusually clingy that night.

It was as if he wanted to confirm his existence and well-being in the most intimate way.

Li Ang also put aside all distractions and focused on responding to her.

Karen finally fell into a deep sleep in his arms, exhausted, as dawn broke.

Her fingers were still unconsciously gripping the hem of his clothes.

Li Ang looked at her brows, which were still slightly furrowed even as she slept.

He lowered his head and placed a light kiss on her forehead.

A warm, tender ache filled my heart.

The next day was Saturday.

Li Ang attentively served Karen until the beautiful policewoman went to work before leaving the apartment.

He went straight home.

This week, in order to break through to the mid-stage of Qi Refining and better prepare for the college rugby league, he spent almost all his time with Karen, focusing on cultivation.

I haven't seen my sister for several days.

Fortunately, she had already asked Bruce's mother to help her find a caregiver.

I spoke with Fiona several times on the phone, and I could tell that she was very satisfied with the caregiver.

This allowed Li Ang to set aside his concerns and focus on improving his martial arts skills.

Use the key to open the door.

The house was quiet, filled with a faint smell of disinfectant and an unfamiliar perfume.

The living room curtains were drawn, making the room dimly lit.

Fiona's bedroom door was closed; she must still be asleep.

Bruce's mother helped him find a caregiver, but he didn't know where she was. In fact, Li Ang hadn't met her since they found her.

I don't even know what it looks like.

Li Ang gently put down his backpack.

I want to go to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

As soon as I reached the kitchen door, I heard the sound of running water and rustling noises coming from inside.

A strange woman was standing in front of the sink, washing a few apples, with her back to the door.

She is not tall, but has an amazing figure.

Especially the upper body, which is so full that it almost bursts through the fabric.

She was wrapped in a slightly tight-fitting floral dress.

Her long, dark brown hair was loosely tied up at the back of her head, revealing her wheat-colored nape.

The dress was made of a very thin fabric, and in the morning light streaming through the window, it subtly outlined the sexy black lingerie underneath.

From behind, she looked very young, unlike the traditional caregiver aunt Li Ang had imagined, who was in her forties or fifties.

Hearing footsteps, the woman turned around.

She looked to be around thirty years old, with the deep features and healthy complexion typical of Latinos.

Her lips were full and coated with a light, glossy lip gloss.

Her eyes were large and alluring, with the corners slightly upturned.

She was visibly taken aback when she saw Li Ang.

He then broke into a warm smile that also seemed to be scrutinizing him.

"Oh! You must be Leon, Fiona's brother, my boss, right?"

She turned off the water, turned around, wiped her hands on her apron, and spoke in a light tone with a distinct Spanish accent: "I'm Maria, your caregiver. Bruce's mother, Martha, recommended me."

As she spoke, she naturally leaned towards Li Ang.

The striking cleavage at her chest was faintly visible through the low-cut neckline of her dress.

"I'm Leon. Hello, Maria."

Li Ang nodded, his gaze sweeping calmly over her, before walking to the cabinet and taking out a water glass.

"My sister is still not awake?"

"Not yet, honey. She went to bed late last night and had a bit of a cough, so I gave her some medicine and she's sleeping soundly now."

Maria leaned against the kitchen counter, showing no intention of moving aside. Instead, she openly scrutinized Li Ang from that position.

From Li Ang's neat short hair to his broad shoulders and lean waist.

His eyes held an undisguised interest.

"Martha only said that the employer was a young student who played basketball very well, but she didn't say that you were so good-looking and had such a great figure."

""

She chuckled softly, her voice lowered, carrying a hint of something: "And, to be able to afford a caregiver for your sister at such a young age—hey, boss, you're really something."

After taking the water, Li Ang took a sip, but didn't say anything; he just looked at her.

Maria felt slightly uncomfortable under his calm gaze.

But she quickly laughed again, swaying her hips as she took a step closer, almost pressing herself against Li Ang.

The sweet perfume scent became even stronger.

Maria reached out, seemingly wanting to straighten his not-so-disheveled collar.

Her fingers lightly brushed against the skin of his collarbone.

Just then, a system notification sounded in Li Ang's mind:

[Ding! Low-grade furnace cauldron detected—Enchanting Maid!]

[Characteristics of the Alluring Maid: Dedicated to serving the employer, you can easily win her heart as her employer.]

[Conquest Difficulty: Extremely Easy]

[System notification: Please subdue this furnace as soon as possible.]

[Reward for a mid-grade furnace: 1 tael of gold]

Li Ang raised an eyebrow slightly, feeling that things seemed pretty good.

Maria had no idea what Leon was thinking.

However, one could sense that Li Ang's gaze was gradually becoming more intense.

"Look at you, a young boy, you have to go to school, play ball, and worry about your older sister. It's so hard for you."

She tilted her head back, her eyes glistening with tears, her breath sweet as orchids.

"It's always good to have a woman at home to take care of you, isn't it? I think it's not just Miss Fiona who needs someone to look after her; my boss, you need someone to take care of you too. And I'd be more than willing to take care of you—I mean—I'd do anything—"

Maria's other hand rested seemingly unintentionally on her high breasts, pressing them gently, stretching the fabric of her dress even tighter.

This implication is so blatant it's almost explicit.

Her plan was simple.

Her employer turned out to be such a young, handsome, and physically strong boy.

In her view, this might be an opportunity to change her circumstances.

Whether they want to keep their job or get more support.

Li Ang looked at Maria's close body.

The air was filled with her strong fragrance.

Maria's fingers traced circles around his collarbone.

Seeing that he didn't flinch and that his eyes were as deep as a pool, she became even bolder.

With her other hand, she slid down Li Ang's strong forearm.

My fingertips traced the lines of his arm muscles.

Finally, his hand holding the water glass was covered.

"Miss Fiona is a heavy sleeper and doesn't usually wake up this early."

As she spoke, she gently rubbed her body against Li Ang's arm.

The soft touch was clearly felt even through the thin clothing.

Li Ang slammed the water glass down on the table with a "thud".

The sound made Maria's eyelids twitch.

Li Ang placed his hand directly on Maria's waist.

The dress was made of soft, thin fabric, and I could immediately feel the warmth of Maria's skin in my palm.

Maria stiffened slightly, then seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and leaned in even softer.

A small hum rolled out of his throat.

"Boss————"

She tilted her head back and offered her lips.

His eyes gleamed with a mixture of nervousness and excitement.

Li Ang didn't let her finish speaking.

He lowered his head and pressed his lips firmly against those two glistening lips.

Maria managed to squeeze out a muffled sound from deep in her throat.

Her arm immediately wrapped around Li Ang's neck.

They responded eagerly, standing on tiptoe.

Soon the two were kissing haphazardly, their breathing becoming increasingly heavy.

The kitchen wasn't big to begin with, and now the air felt like it was on fire.

Maria was half-pushed against the cold refrigerator door by Leon.

The coldness of the metal made her shiver.

A series of chaotic noises began to emanate from the kitchen.

After a long while, the intense noise gradually subsided.

All that remained was heavy, long panting.

Maria clung softly to Li Ang, her face flushed, her eyes unfocused, her lips slightly swollen, and her sweaty hair stuck to her neck.

But she never forgot her identity as a maid and took the initiative to get up and help Li Ang tidy up his clothes.

Li Ang gently kissed the lovely middle-aged maid.

The two turned and stepped into the living room, their feet suddenly frozen in place.

Over there on the sofa, Fiona was already sitting there at some point.

She was wrapped in an old blanket, her pale face flushed with an unnatural red.

Head bowed, hands gripping the edge of the blanket tightly, eyes fixed on her knees pressed together.

It looks like she's been sitting there for a while.

The air froze instantly, and the awkwardness felt like being doused with ice water.

Maria looked visibly flustered yet trying to appear calm, frantically tugging at her wrinkled skirt and her eyes darting around.

Li Ang, however, was thick-skinned enough to ignore his sister's strange behavior and the smell emanating from himself and the kitchen.

He walked straight to the single sofa next to Fiona and sat down, saying in a casual tone, "Sis, you're awake? Why didn't you sleep a little longer?"

Fiona nodded slightly, her voice thin and hoarse, with a hint of tension: "Mmm—much better. I...I can't sleep."

Li Ang turned to Maria, who was still frozen at the kitchen door, and said kindly, "Maria, could you please make some light breakfast? We'll eat together later."

"Okay! Good, good, right away!"

Maria felt like she had been granted a pardon and turned to run back into the kitchen, where she immediately heard frantic tidying sounds.

After preparing breakfast, Maria quickly set the table.

Simple fried eggs, toast, milk, and chopped fruit.

She didn't dare sit down and stood by the dining table with her hands hanging down.

His eyes would occasionally dart across Li Ang.

He then stole another glance at Fiona, who kept her head down.

Her face still bore the blush of the aftermath and a hint of cautious ingratiation.

Li Ang pulled out the chair next to him.

"Sit down, Maria, let's eat together."

"Huh? I—can I?"

Maria was a little flattered and subconsciously glanced at Fiona.

Fiona kept her head down, slowly stirring the oatmeal porridge in her bowl with a small spoon, without saying a word, only nodding slightly.

The amplitude was so small that it was almost invisible.

Li Ang had already picked up his fork and started eating the fried egg, his movements natural.

As if the strange atmosphere in the kitchen and at the dining table had never existed: "Of course, you're part of the family too."

Maria then carefully sat down next to the chair.

He sat upright with his hands neatly placed on his knees, like a primary school student on his first day of school.

She picked up a piece of toast and nibbled on it in small bites.

Her gaze couldn't help but drift towards Li Ang.

The only sounds on the table were the soft clinking of knives, forks, and bowls.

Li Ang ate quickly, occasionally adding a little fruit to Fiona's plate.

Fiona ate very little, barely touching the fried egg, but slowly finished the bowl of porridge.

Maria, however, ate absentmindedly.

Every time Li Ang's gaze seemed to turn towards her, she would quickly lower her head, her cheeks turning even redder.

After finishing the last bite, Li Ang wiped his mouth and said, "Sis, remember to take your medicine later."

Fiona finally looked up, glanced quickly at Leon, then abruptly looked away, focusing on the empty bowl in front of her. Her voice was soft: "Yes, I know. You—you're going out again today?"

Li Ang stood up and casually ruffled Fiona's hair. "Yeah, I have some things to take care of. Rest well at home, don't overwork yourself. Maria will take good care of you, right, Maria?"

Maria jumped to her feet as if called upon, quickly assuring him, "Ah! Yes, yes, yes! Don't worry, Mr. Leon, I will definitely take good care of Miss Fiona!"

Li Ang nodded, said nothing more, and turned to walk back to his room.

When he came out again, he was carrying a rather heavy-looking shoulder bag.

"I'm leaving now, I'll be back tonight."

Fiona's voice came from the living room, still very soft: "Be careful on the road."

Maria followed closely to the door, her face ingratiating, and whispered, "Come back soon, dinner—is there anything you'd like to eat?"

Li Ang waved his hand casually, pushed open the door and walked out: "Whatever, just make something my sister likes to eat."
