The female reporter nodded; she thought so too.

Alice poured cold water on their hopes: "No army will come. Even if someone does, it will definitely be the Umbrella Corporation. They know the virus is completely out of control, so Raccoon City will be completely wiped out at sunrise this morning."

Jill took a deep drag on her cigarette, the smoke rising slowly like a mushroom cloud: "Complete cleanup... what does that mean?"

"I know that," Xiao Miao chimed in. "A high-precision tactical nuclear weapon is every capitalist's dream. It's efficient, clean, and pollution-free, and most importantly, it's completely undetectable. I remember there's a nuclear power plant in Raccoon City, right? Nuclear leak—it's the perfect excuse."

Alice then looked at Xiao Miao and asked, "Can you still use that ability of yours now?"

Alice nodded in understanding: "The most urgent thing right now is to find a way to get over the walls surrounding Raccoon City."

The Umbrella Corporation surrounded Raccoon City with steel walls tens of meters high, leaving only the Black Gate Bridge as the main access road. Heaven knows how they managed to do that.

Suddenly, Alice and Xiao Miao stood up at the same time and drew their guns to be on guard.

A priest and a corporate slave lay dead together, a revolver lying nearby.

Both of their bodies had been largely devoured, and a female zombie was feasting on the priest's body.

Xiao Miao shot the female zombie in the head, then shot the priest and the office worker in the head to prevent them from coming back to life.

The strange noises they heard were not the sounds of the female zombie eating. The group continued forward and arrived at a luxurious bedroom with a picture of a priest holding a Bible on the wall.

The strange noise was coming from the bedside table in the bedroom; a retro-style telephone was making a crisp ringing sound.

The group exchanged glances, and Alice stepped forward to answer the phone, pressing the speakerphone button.

"God, what are you afraid of? Do you think a telephone can jump up and shoot at you?" a man's complaint came through the loudspeaker.

"Hard to say," Xiao Miao thought to himself. "What if this phone call came into contact with the AllSpark?"

Alice frowned. "Who are you?"

"I am Dr. Charles Ashford, and most importantly, I can get the four of you out of town! But first, you need to do me a favor. Are you ready to make a deal?"

Knowing the plot well, Xiao Miao immediately understood. She glanced at the rooftop surveillance camera—who knew why the priest would install a camera in the bedroom—and quickly walked to the phone: "Dr. Ashford, you want us to rescue your daughter?"

Dr. Ashford on the other end of the phone froze, his previously confident expression vanishing: "How did you know?"

While asking the questions, Dr. Ashford switched to a split screen and began searching for Xiao Miao's information.

How did I know? Of course, I watched the original movie!

Xiao Miao thought to himself, but said a lie: "It's simple. You're probably looking up my information right now. As you can see, I'm a reporter. I know you work for the Umbrella Corporation and have a daughter. The fact that you're contacting us this way at a time like this means something must have happened to your daughter. Am I right?"

"To be honest, you don't seem like a journalist at all." Dr. Ashford took a deep breath. "We need to have a serious talk. There's a more advanced communication device in the next room; let's use that."

After speaking, Dr. Ashford hung up the call. The conversation had been disrupted by Xiao Miao, and he needed to calm down, organize his thoughts, and find a way to regain the upper hand.

Inside the priest's bedroom, Xiao Miao and the other three looked at each other in bewilderment.

Despite their many questions, the group followed Dr. Ashford's instructions and headed to the next room.

The room next door was locked. Xiao Miao found the key on the priest and opened the first door, only to find another security door inside.

So everyone started looking for the key again, and in the end, Xiao Miao had a sudden idea to look through the Bible and found the key in a Bible that had been hollowed out.

Upon opening the security door, an even more luxuriously decorated...bedroom? appeared before them.

A gynecological chair sat beside the silk bed, and several hooks hung from the ceiling, their purpose unknown.

On the other side of the room were several tables piled with quirky little toys that needed to be blurred out, as well as a computer and a high-end webcam.

"Wow." The female reporter understood immediately: "The priest's got some serious tricks up his sleeve, broadcasting something like this live?"

Xiao Miao, with a serious expression, defended the priest: "What do you know? He was preaching in the cyberspace."

Everyone turned on the computer and easily accessed the desktop, only to find that the priest hadn't set a password.

Perhaps he never expected that his little hut would be exposed.

A call request came in to the computer. Xiao Miao clicked to confirm the connection, and Dr. Ashford's thinning head appeared on the screen.

Before Xiao Miao could speak, Dr. Ashford preemptively said, "You may not be aware of your current situation, so take a look at this first."

Dr. Ashford pressed a button, and the screen immediately switched to a surveillance camera somewhere on the streets of Raccoon City.

The surveillance footage shows a team of fully armed special forces storming down the street and attacking a person from all sides.

The man being besieged was no ordinary person either; he possessed immense strength and was able to lift a car and smash it at the special forces with sheer brute force.

After losing five members, the special forces successfully subdued the target with tranquilizer guns and took him away on a plane.

The scene then switches again to an indoor surveillance camera, where someone who can control flames uses gas to cause an explosion, successfully escaping the pursuit of special forces.

The scene changed more than ten times, all showing special forces capturing people. There were successes and failures, but the number of successful captures was far more.

Dr. Ashford's face reappeared, his tone grave: "Major Kane and the military are arresting a special group of people—you are them!"

His gaze fell on Xiao Miao and Alice: "Without my help, you will both eventually become guinea pigs for the military and end up back on the operating table. So let's make a deal: you help me rescue my daughter, and I'll guide you out of the city."
