Chapter 47: Passive Play

Unable to tolerate losing possession of the ball, Robinson used his authority as the leader, yelling at Sherman:

"Hey, give me that damn ball! How are you bunch of trash going to score without me!"

Even though Sherman was a veteran on the team, he couldn't escape being heavily criticized by Robinson.

Having no standing, Sherman had no choice but to pass the ball to him.

At this point, Vin Baker had firmly pinned Coleman down, creating enough space to receive the ball and easily score. He gestured to Robinson:

"Glenn, pass the ball!"

Robinson ignored him; he had to prove himself by taking on Clarence one-on-one.

"It's always like this. Glen can always make the whole team stop for him. Isn't that a kind of personal charisma?" Steve mocked Big Dog's obvious attempt to get the ball.

As the home commentator, he was happy to see Big Dog treat his teammates like opponents.

76ers head coach Johnny Davis had enough time to direct Allen Iverson to double-team him.

After changing direction, Robinson tried to force his way past Clarence. He pushed off with his buttocks and quickly spun around, but after turning around, he discovered something.

Where the hell am I?

After successfully stealing the ball, Iverson sprinted towards the Bucks' basket and dunked for the win!

"Fuck, fuck! Everyone's targeting me! You don't want to fight, huh? Then don't fight at all!"

The competition among the Bucks is already beginning to show, and the rivalry among the Philadelphia 76ers is no less intense.

Iverson and Stackhouse were locked in their own half of the court, neither willing to concede to the other.

Jerry Stackhouse finally received the ball and dribbled it to the frontcourt. Unlike Iverson, he didn't encounter Sherman, who was completely unable to defend him. Instead, he faced Xu Feng, who was superior in both size and athleticism.

Recalling Vin Baker's pre-match instructions, Xu Feng stood a step away from him, slightly to his right.

"Jerry is a typical right-handed player. Look at the direction he's driving. With your wingspan, you can completely block his strong side."

When Stackhouse saw Xu Feng's positioning to block the right flank, his heart sank, and he immediately realized that the kid had come prepared.

But he still wants to try playing one-on-one.

Passing the ball is out of the question. Iverson has already scored eight points in a row since the start of the game. If I don't take a shot soon, I'll really lose my job to a rookie!

As you step out with your right foot, use a crossover dribble to bring the ball to your side, and then sprint forward with your body!

Unlike Iverson, Stackhouse is not a speed-oriented player, so his purpose in doing this was not to break through, but to push Xu Feng aside and create space for his pull-up jumper.

Xu Feng was well prepared, and his lower body remained as stable as Mount Tai, without wavering in the slightest!

"Damn it, this kid's here to cause trouble, isn't he!"

Stackhouse's attempt failed, so he turned his back to Xu Feng and tried to force Xu Feng to the free-throw line area. If he got there, with his touch, he could just pull up and shoot!

He started to bend over and use his arms to block Xu Feng, and began to back down Xu Feng from within three points.

Iverson wasn't planning on asking for the ball; he was just standing there watching. Neither of them would pass it to the other.

top!

Xu Feng wavered slightly.

I'll give it another try if I have the chance!

Pushing Jerry's buttocks with his arm, Xu Feng, who had adjusted himself, remained completely still!

I don't believe it, I'll keep supporting it!

Xu Feng secretly exerted his strength, causing Stackhouse to stumble.

Shit! Why are my defenders different from Iverson's?!

Enraged, Stackhouse used his iron elbows to clear a path, striking Xu Feng in the chest with each blow. Xu Feng, in pain, moved aside, and Stackhouse retaliated with a swift strike.

Swish! Two points in!

"Is that all? You can't stop me."

Stackhouse shamelessly mocked Xu Feng.

Possession changed!

"Sherman, pass the ball!"

The big dog, who wasn't very active on defense, was very active on offense; he was already entangled with Clarence again.

"Hey, Sherman, can I have the ball?"

Just as Sherman was about to lob the ball to Robinson for a singles match, Xu Feng's voice came through. Although his tone was calm, he could sense the anger hidden behind it.

Who should it be given to? The veteran Glenn, or the rising star Xu Feng?

The thought of Glenn walking around the field and verbally abusing him made Sherman waver.

Fine, I'll give Xu Feng this chance, teach Big Dog a lesson. Anyway, the coach also told me to pass the ball to other people more often.

The ball was passed to Xu Feng! Big Dog's face instantly turned extremely gloomy. He stopped all movement, put his hands on his hips, and looked at the ground.

Xu Feng didn't care about anything else. The moment he received the ball, he instantly lowered his shoulder and started moving, taking a step between his legs, leaning forward, and slamming his shoulder into Stackhouse!

Bang!

Stackhouse's body was knocked to the side, and even though it hurt a lot, he still instinctively grabbed Xu Feng's arm.

Xu Feng struggled to break free, rushed to the elbow area, and drifted to shoot before Coleman could come to help defend!

The medal for the high-difficulty shot shines brightly, and the Thorn Armor takes effect.

Swish!

Hollow hit!

"Wow! Unbelievable! Xu Feng still has such a smooth touch after battling Jerry! His and Iverson's performances were so outstanding, completely overshadowing the veterans on the court!"

"Hey Jerry, anyone can foul. You're basically just a softie who relies on fouling, you know?"

Stackhouse looked as if he'd eaten a shit, but there was someone even uglier than him: Robinson the big dog.

Robinson had never encountered such a situation before. Even when he missed, Sherman would obediently pass the ball to him.

"If you want to play, then you'd better keep playing forever and lead a bunch of useless players to victory!"

Robinson muttered to himself, completely abandoning any defense, and watched as Clarence ran past him.

Mark said seriously, "Glen Robinson just stood there with his hands on his hips, not moving an inch. He didn't get back on defense at all. You can't give up on your team like that in a regular season game. Big Dog wasn't playing defense at all tonight."

Big Dog's actions completely crossed Chris's bottom line, which was something the management could not tolerate.

Even during previous tanking seasons, Dunleavy and Herb would not allow Robinson to openly abandon defense in games.

Moreover, the Bucks have no intention of starting the season, and this move will undoubtedly damage fans' confidence in the Bucks, which they have worked so hard to regain.

"Pause! Pause!"

"Glenn, get down here! Newman, you go up and take his place."

"Are you just going to embarrass yourself in front of the audience like this? Is this the attitude a player should have? Do you even know how many people are watching this game?"

Chris Ford pointed at Glenn and berated him mercilessly.

Robinson simply lowered his head and whispered:

"They won't give me the ball, I can't play at all, what can I do?"

"Did I say we should follow the tactical system? What's wrong with Sherman giving the ball to Xu Feng, who was open? You've been playing passively since the start of the game, do you even want to play anymore?!"

Robinson lowered his head and said nothing more.

But Glenn disagreed. Did you think Dunleavy hadn't insulted me before?

Not only did Dunleavy scold me, but even my boss Herb personally called me into his office and scolded me, and he scolded me even more harshly.

They even threatened, "If you continue to openly tank, you'll be suspended indefinitely!"

And what happened? The punishment was only a few thousand dollars. After less than two games, Big Dog was back in top form, and his possession of the ball was even higher.

Without my big dog Robinson, there are no scoring options. The Bucks are just a bunch of shit. Even the few remaining fans will leave. Who will still watch you then?

Robinson lay leisurely on the bench, watching the rest of the game.

He just needs to wait until the coaching staff and management have vented their anger, and then they'll ask him to return to the team. At that point, Xu Feng will only be fit to shine their shoes.
