NBA: My template has no limit

Chapter 68 An Encounter on Christmas Day

Xu Feng declined Newman's offer to attend the Christmas party and returned to Chicago to spend Christmas.

Milwaukee was too cold and rather deserted, but Xu Feng still wanted to join in the hustle and bustle of the American holiday.

"Hey, my brother, I've finally waited for you! I'm so glad I didn't give up!"

In the morning, as soon as the plane landed and Xu Feng reached the exit, a black man walked up to him, gave him a big hug, and added two lines of lyrics.

"You've gotten even stronger. How's it going playing in the NBA? Are there a bunch of girls wanting to pounce on you and train you?" Singh was still the same as always, carefree and easygoing.

"I haven't changed much, just playing in a different place. You're still as flamboyant as ever, Singh."

Xu Feng threw the bag into the trunk of his sports car.

"Damn it, it's that familiar taste again!"

"How did you guys do in the NCAA after Watts and I left?"

Singh shrugged, his tone resigned:

"To be honest, it's only slightly better than before. Those high school students only care about that bullshit basketball powerhouse's bullshit heritage; they don't even come here."

"When recruiting, Joey practically plastered your picture on their faces. But they also knew that DePaul's championship was almost entirely due to you, and without you, who would want to play there?"

"Ugh! DePaul is like a pretty girl on the outside, but when she takes off her clothes, people find out she's a fucking man!"

Singh drove to the entrance of DePaul School, where the others waited.

Brian, Watts, Tomei, Harper, Joey...

Xu Feng hugged each of them. They were all acquaintances, so there was no need for sentimental words. They chatted briefly, and Joey went home to be with his wife and children. The rest of the young people drove to the city center to stroll and chat.

The area in front of the Wrigley Building was packed with people. The German-American Chamber of Commerce was holding its first Christmas market here this year, and the 24th was the last day. People were rushing to come and experience the exotic flavors before the market closed.

German sausages with sauerkraut or bread, alkaline bread, gingerbread, cinnamon biscuits...

Xu Feng ate as he walked, but not every food was as delicious as its tempting appearance. Some were like food assassins, looking presentable but hard to swallow.

Arriving at a stall selling German mulled wine, there was the longest queue in the entire square. (Singaporean Xu Feng)

"Would you like to try some? It looks rather strange."

On the stall was a large wine barrel, with pomegranate-red liquid churning inside, mixed with various seasoning crumbs, emitting billowing steam, and smelling slightly sweet.

This looks like a wizard brewing a potion.

Singh might not be interested in things that look ordinary, but he has to try things that look strange!

"I'm only nineteen, brother. You buy two drinks yourself, and I'll drink them when I come to your house tonight."

There were so many people that it took half an hour to get through.

"Boss, give me two glasses of red wine!" Singh said to the stall owner who looked remarkably like Gragas from League of Legends.

"Give me your ID. I need to make sure you're 21," the barrel grumbled.

Although many young people in the United States drink alcohol in private, this does not mean that the law is not strict.

If a business owner serves alcohol to young people under the age of 21, they will be fined more than $10,000, have their license revoked, and in serious cases, may even face criminal charges.

With so many eyes watching from the square, the boss wouldn't do that unless he was really desperate.

"Hey! Don't you believe me? Look at my thick stubble, do you think I'm not mature enough? I'll show you just how mature I really am..."

Oh no! My driver's license is in the car!

Singh stopped halfway through his boasting, his hands suddenly trembling, and a thick layer of sweat instantly appeared on his forehead.

"Where's your ID?" "I didn't bring it!"

Xu Feng patted the unreliable guy on the shoulder helplessly: "Let's go back and get it."

"Damn it!" Singh slapped his thigh and prepared to leave.

Just then, a woman's voice called out to them.

"Wait a minute, if you are really over 21, I can buy it for you."

The two turned around and saw a face with delicate features, black curly hair, a tall figure, and a classic Western beauty.

She wore a black leather jacket over a turtleneck sweater, paired with skinny jeans and ankle boots that accentuated her long legs, making her look both cool and beautiful.

Before Xu Feng could speak, Singh quickly agreed, "Absolutely! I can vouch for it with my character. We're both over 21!"

"Alright! I trust you. I'll have three glasses of red wine." The woman was amused by Singh and handed her identification and US dollars to the boss.

Upon seeing this beautiful guest who looked like an angel, Barrel paused for two seconds before quickly agreeing.

"Xu Feng, I don't want to lie to you, but it's really possible that the wish I made to Santa Claus yesterday came true," Singh whispered to Xu Feng.

The woman walked over carrying a paper bag containing three ceramic cups, and Singh quickly went to greet her, extending his hand:

"I don't know how to thank you enough for buying us wine. Let me introduce myself, my name is Marcus Singh, and this is..."

"Hello, Charlize Theron."

Charlize Theron extended her hand, shook hands briefly with Singh, and then turned to look at Xu Feng.

"I recognize this guy. He must be the famous Xu Feng. I watch you play all the time. You could call him a loyal fan."

"Haha, you're quite well-known. Thank you so much for your generosity. I didn't know you watched the NBA." Xu Feng smiled and shook hands with her.

This time, unlike Singh, Charlize Theron took the initiative to put her hand into Xu Feng's palm, and was completely enveloped by Xu Feng's large hand.

I must say, it feels pretty good.

Charlize Theron's eyes welled up with tears. She glanced to the side and whispered:

"It's mainly because you play basketball so well. Weren't we drinking? Don't forget the important thing."

Singh, a seasoned lover, noticed something amiss and his face darkened.

Damn, this woman came prepared; I just gave her an opportunity!

Charlize Theron took out a ceramic wine glass, handed it to Singh, and then said nothing more.

Singh picked up his glass, took a sip, and smacked his lips: "It tastes alright, not too strong, not very alcoholic."

"Where is my cup?" Xu Feng asked, somewhat puzzled.

Charlize Theron responded with a playful smile: "You can fool others but not me. You just turned 19 two days ago. Little brother can't drink."

Having lived two lives, this is the first time someone has ever said they are small!

Xu Feng was adamant about not backing down on this: "Hey, I'm not a kid anymore, maybe you should give it a try! I mean... let me try drinking!"

The more he tried to explain, the worse it got; after Xu Feng said that, the atmosphere became slightly awkward.

Charlize Theron, who had only been in the entertainment industry for a year, hadn't yet reached that level of seasoned experience. Sensing that something was amiss in their conversation, her pretty face flushed slightly.

"Okay, but I'm risking breaking the law by giving you drinks, so just offering a little money won't do," Charlize Theron continued after adjusting her tone.

"How about this, you've been in Chicago for a long time, haven't you? How about you be my tour guide today and show me around Chicago?"

Perhaps afraid of taking up too much of their time, she quickly added:

"I won't play for too long, three hours at most."
