The next day at noon, a rhythmic knocking woke Norn from his nap.

Norn opened the door in a daze, and a richly dressed man stood outside, holding an exquisite wooden box in his hands.

His gaze, hidden behind his monocle, swept over the clean cut on Norn's right shoulder, confirming that he hadn't knocked on the wrong door.

"I am very sorry to disturb your rest. I am here on the orders of the head of the Dharma King's delegation, Dr. Drogna Page, to deliver yesterday's payment."

The man smiled and handed the wooden box to Norn. Norn glanced at it and knew that the payment was definitely shoddy.

Two thousand gold coins couldn't possibly be contained in such a small box.

But Norn did not react, which was exactly what he expected.

Take the wooden box back into the house, open it, and you'll find stacks of gold coins neatly arranged in a wooden grid. There's also a note stuck to the bottom of the lid:

I am very sorry, Mr. Norn.

The national treasury is currently strained, and I can only secure 600 gold coins for you out of the agreed-upon 2000. As compensation, I've arranged a mansion for you in the Bekranza district.

There's a pass I wrote at the bottom of the wooden box; you can check in anytime.

Norn had heard about this Bekranza district from a prostitute. It was a residential area set up by the kingdom specifically for nobles. If an ordinary prostitute could be chosen to go there once, she could live a comfortable life for a whole year.

In that aristocratic district where money couldn't buy your way in, money was the easiest thing to obtain; those big shots could feed ordinary people to the point of bursting at the seams by simply plucking a single fur from a mink.

Is it really easier to get yourself into that place than for a mere 2000 gold coins? Nobody believes that.

Norn felt that the kingdom was probably eyeing his abilities.

Once infected by the Mad Poison, even a powerful figure like Louisa can easily control it and even use its power—an ability that inspires envy.

The kingdom gave him this house not as compensation, but as a form of annexation.

As for why only 600 gold coins were given, it is highly likely that Dorkina embezzled them. The kingdom could not be so poor that it could not even give 1400 gold coins.

But Norn didn't care anymore.

In the Bekranza district, people would come and give you money even if you were lying in bed, so who would care about a pittance?

move!

Norn happily retracted his right hand and style, returning to being a normal person with all four limbs intact, and left the room with the wooden box and a few belongings.

The Bekranza district is located in the center of Basel, separated from the Royal Palace by only a square.

After showing the pass given by Dorkina, the gatekeeper's attitude instantly became enthusiastic, and he took the small bag of luggage from Norn's hand and offered to lead the way.

The heavy, silver-white door slowly opened, revealing a completely different world to Norn.

The spotless perlite avenue is adorned with exquisitely manicured ornamental plants.

The aristocratic ladies in the park were dressed like dolls, sitting in groups of three or five in the pavilion, drinking tea and chatting.

Their gazes quickly settled on Norn, a boy who exuded a street-smart aura that was out of place with his surroundings, prompting them to open their fans and cover their mouths to whisper among themselves.

Along the way, many people were drawn to Norn, and the newcomer who moved into Backlanza was always a hot topic of conversation.

The soldiers led Norn to a somewhat dilapidated villa, where ivy covered the walls and cracks were visible in some sections.

"This used to be the house of a duke. After the duke was executed for treason, this place was abandoned."

However, you can request renovations at any time, and the kingdom's best bricklayers will serve you free of charge.

The soldier handed Norn a brass key, asking, "Any other questions?"

"That's all, thank you."

The soldier smiled and nodded repeatedly, rubbing his hands together, showing no sign of leaving.

Norn saw through his thoughts at a glance, immediately opened the wooden box, took out a stack of gold coins, and generously handed them to the soldier.

Unexpectedly, the soldier did not thank them for the tip; instead, his smile turned cold, his eyes filled with disappointment, and he left without a word.

No, you think it's not enough?

If this money were given to any prostitute, she would be treated like a human being!

Are the people here really that wealthy?

Norn suddenly felt out of place, just like this dilapidated villa and the luxurious mansions nearby.

Pushing open the dusty door, Norn stepped into the villa.

It must be said that no matter how old a Maybach is, it is still a Maybach.

Upon entering, Norn was greeted by an extremely spacious hall. Although time had filled the hall with dust and cobwebs, it could not conceal its former prosperity.

Even though most of the furnishings in the villa have been moved out, any one of the carpets on the floor or the chandeliers on the ceiling could probably be sold for a lot of money.

Just as Norn was thinking about getting some people to come and clean up, there was a knock on the door behind him.

"Who is it?"

Norn opened the door, and a portly man stood smiling outside, followed by a group of people.

"Nice to meet you! My name is Gorgon Gondor, and that's my house across the street."

"Hello, Norn Pierre," Norn replied.

"I've heard that you helped save Louisa and are a hero of the kingdom."

Gao Ergong squinted and opened his eyes a crack, peering into the hall while clicking his tongue repeatedly.

"Heroes shouldn't live in this garbage dump, Lord Norn. Please allow them to clean your house."

After Gao Ergong finished speaking, he stretched out his chubby right hand and turned to show Norn the cleaning team behind him.

Holy crap? This is so thoughtful!

Norn was flattered and immediately accepted Gorgon's offer.

A large group of people immediately poured into Norn's villa and got to work in an orderly manner.

"Lord Norn, would you like to come to my house as a guest? You can tell me your story."

Gorgon suggested it, and Norn agreed without much thought.

In the picturesque courtyard, Norn and Gorgon sat under a pavilion as servants brought them tea and refreshments. Before long, more guests arrived.

When the nobles of the entire Bekranza district learned of the arrival of the new bride, they all rushed to offer their congratulations and gifts.

As more and more nobles came to visit, Gorgon simply moved to a larger venue and held a tea party, with the focus of the conversation naturally being Norn.

Norn soon discovered the reason why these nobles were so enthusiastic.

In the Bekranza district, all the nobles are bound together by a chain of interests, supporting and helping each other.

Even if Norn seems to have no money or power, as long as he can live here, he is valuable in their eyes.

However, Norn didn't dislike this, after all, the gifts they sent alone amounted to at least 10,000 gold coins.

At the tea party, Norn was delighted by the nobles' sweet talk, and he generously displayed his abilities, winning the nobles' exclamations of surprise.

As they were chatting, Norn suddenly felt a slight fullness in his bladder and went to the toilet to relieve himself.

As he washed his hands, a deep male voice came from behind him: "Brother, can I borrow your hand?"

Norn turned around and was startled.

There was a middle-aged man standing there. Why was it just one?

The man had no arms, and with his slightly thin frame, he looked like a wooden stick when he stood there.

"What do you want me to do with my hands? To hold a gun while I pee?" Norn asked.

"I want to masturbate."
