Chen Mo pushed open the door to the computer room of the Computer Association and led five people in.

The footsteps were hurried and paused for a moment at the entrance of the server room.

A cool breeze rushed out from the door, hitting my face and dispelling most of the stuffiness in the corridor.

The group unconsciously took a deep breath. It was still hot outside. In early October in Beijing, the lingering summer heat hadn't completely subsided. By the time they walked from the dormitory to here, their backs were already slightly sweaty.

The room in front of me, with its air conditioner blasting cold air, mixed with the sounds of keyboard clicks and laughter, felt like another world.

The room was even more lively than in the morning, with the clatter of keyboards filling the air, occasionally punctuated by laughter and curses.

Seven or eight people were huddled around the computer by the window, chattering amongst themselves.

Zhang Yuan sat in the corner wearing headphones, his fingers never stopping.

Li Yue poked her head out from the crowd, pointed at the screen and said, "Reproduce this bug again, let me see the pattern." After saying that, she glanced at the door and then shrank back inside.

Ye Ming raised his head.

His gaze swept over the five people, passing over their faces once more.

Zhao Kaichong nodded to him, Zhang Jian grinned, Chen Yu pursed his lips a little shyly, Sun Cheng stood at the back with a calm expression, and there was another one looking around.

The one who was looking around glanced at the corner for a moment, then stopped.

Two people were sitting in the corner.

A person wearing a light pink cardigan is writing with their head down.

Her long hair cascaded down in waves, and sunlight streamed in through the side window, highlighting her delicate nose and long, drooping eyelashes.

She occasionally paused to think, her profile so serene that it was impossible to look away.

The guy next to me, wearing a black leather jacket, leaned to the side and looked over.

She has an oval face, curved eyebrows and eyes, sunglasses perched on her forehead, and shoulder-length bangs with slightly curled ends.

She pinched half a butterfly pastry and chewed it in small bites, her eyes sparkling as if she were hiding something fun.

The one who was looking around paused for a second, then quickly looked away.

Ye Ming put down the mouse, stood up, and walked around the table to greet him.

He first looked at Chen Mo, then paused in his tracks.

Chen Mo, still carrying the bag of fruits, stood at the front, his face bearing his usual easygoing expression.

Ye Ming knew what was going on as soon as he saw the five people behind him.

This Chen Mo must be alone again, walking from one end to the other, knocking on doors one by one, holding oranges in his hand, giving one to everyone he meets, and saying a few words.

Some people responded, some didn't, so he kept walking and asking until he had gathered everyone together.

He never says these things. He just does what he's supposed to do, helps what he's supposed to help, as if it's his duty.

Ye Ming looked at him without saying a word.

Then he went over, took the bag of remaining fruits and vegetables, and placed it on the table.

He turned around and patted Chen Mo on the shoulder: "Thanks."

It was just two words, but the pat on the shoulder felt heavier than usual.

Chen Mo paused for a moment, then waved his hand, "Don't mention it."

Ye Ming didn't say anything more. He turned to the five people and lingered on each of their faces for a moment, not to scrutinize them, but to remember them.

Zhao Kaichong smiled at him, and Ye Ming nodded as well.

Zhang Jian extended his hand, and the two shook hands. Ye Ming said, "Thank you for making this trip."

Zhang Jian waved his hand: "It's nothing."

Chen Yu stood to the side, a little reserved, his fingers unconsciously rubbing the hem of his clothes.

Ye Ming walked over and looked at him: "Chen Yu, I read your short story in Jinling U-News last month."

Chen Yu paused for a moment, then looked up.

Ye Ming said, "The narrative is detailed and vivid. Our event database is lacking precisely this kind of writing style."

He paused, then said with a hint of sincerity, "It's my luck to have you here."

Chen Yu pursed his lips, his ears turned slightly red, but his eyes slowly began to light up.

He nodded, his voice soft: "I'll give it a try."

Sun Cheng stood at the back, and Ye Ming took the initiative to walk over and extend his hand: "Sun Cheng, thanks for the scammer last time."

Sun Cheng grasped his hand and shook his head: "It's only right."

Ma Teng was standing nearby, having just been caught peeking, and was now feeling a little embarrassed.

He scratched his head and muttered to himself, "I just...check out the surroundings and gather some materials..."

Ye Ming glanced at him and smiled gently: "Gathering material is a good thing. Write whatever you want. Having a big imagination is an advantage."

Ma Teng nodded and said nothing more.

The afternoon sunlight slanted in through the window, falling on the bag of fruits and vegetables, and also at the feet of several people.

Ye Ming took a stack of contracts out of his bag and pushed them onto the table.

"Take a look at the content purchase contract." He pushed the contract forward. "The contract includes the details of the payment. If you write 200 articles, you'll get 100 yuan. If you don't, you'll get 0.4 yuan per article. It's paid weekly, so you can work with peace of mind."

Zhao Kai took the contract, glanced at it, and smiled: "So formal?" He was an easygoing person and didn't think much of it. He turned to the last page, signed his name, and pressed his fingerprint.

Zhang Jian was even more straightforward. He took the contract, didn't even look at it carefully, flipped to the last page, and signed it: "Ye Ming, you can make the arrangements. I'll be there whenever you call."

Chen Yu took it but didn't sign it immediately.

He placed the contract on the table and began to flip through it page by page, reading it line by line.

When he encounters something he doesn't quite understand, he will stop and think about it, his brow furrowing slightly.

He looked at it for a full five minutes before picking up the pen and signing it.

Sun Cheng took the contract, but before he could look at the terms, he looked up at Ye Ming.

Thinking back to what happened last week, he felt that Ye Ming was still reliable, so he lowered his head and signed.

Ma Teng took the contract, flipping through it while muttering to himself, "200 entries for 100 yuan... If I wrote 2,000 entries, wouldn't I earn 1,000 yuan?"

After signing the contract, he handed it back, then suddenly remembered something and looked up at Ye Ming with concern: "Hey, this game of yours... can it make money? Don't end up losing money yourself."

Ye Ming glanced at him, but didn't reply. He simply put the contract away.

Ma Teng was stunned for a moment, while Zhang Jian next to him burst out laughing.

Ye Mingcai said, "The more content, the better. As long as it's well-written, I'll take as much as you want."

Ma Teng scratched his head and chuckled, "Okay, then I'll write more."

Sun Cheng, standing to the side, interjected, "I usually like to jot down little things that happen on campus. I can share them with you two later, and we can supplement each other's material."

Ma Teng's eyes lit up: "Great! Brother Sun Cheng, you're such a good friend!"

Sun Cheng grinned and lowered his head to start typing.

Zhao Kai chimed in from the side, "Whether you eat or not, it's good enough if you can get paid weekly these days."

Chen Yu nodded.

The five contracts were collected and neatly stacked on the table.

Ye Ming put the contract away, took another copy out of his bag, and turned to look at Chen Mo.

Chen Mo was standing to the side when Ye Ming finally looked at him and smiled: "You finally called on me? I thought you'd forgotten about me."

Ye Ming didn't reply, but handed the contract over. Chen Mo took it, flipped through it casually, and was about to sign it when Ye Ming took out two crisp hundred-yuan bills from his pocket and handed them to him.

Chen Mo was taken aback and didn't answer.

Ye Ming looked at him, neither speaking nor withdrawing his hand.

Chen Mo felt a little uncomfortable under their gaze, and scratched his head: "Okay, okay, I'll take it. But if you don't call me next time you need something, I'll be furious."

He put the money in his pocket, picked up a pen, signed the contract, and handed it back.

Ye Ming took it and nodded.

He took out two more portions and walked to the corner.

"Xu is such a good person, thank you. Include everything you wrote before, and let me know when you've tallied it up."

Xu Wei looked up, took the contract, glanced at it, and smiled, "Oh, I thought I was just going to work for you for free."

Ye Ming glanced at her: "Write as much as you can, it's not a freebie." He paused, then added, "Now no one will say I'm exploiting you, right?"

Xu Wei paused for a moment, then burst out laughing. Ruan Xing next to her also laughed, her eyes crinkling.

Xu Wei pursed her lips, lowered her head to sign the contract, and glared at him as she handed it back. But that glare wasn't very forceful.

Ye Ming then handed another copy to Ruan Xing.

Ruan Xing took the contract, flipped through a couple of pages, and muttered under her breath, "I... I'm not very good at writing..."

Ye Ming looked at her but didn't reply. He simply pushed the contract towards her again.

Ruan Xing paused for a moment, looking at the contract in her hand, then at the one Xu Wei had already signed, and then at the six new employees who had also signed. She bit her lip and whispered, "Then I'll give it a try."

After signing the contract, I handed it back and added, "Don't blame me if it's not well written."

Ye Ming ignored her and put the contract away.

Li Yue had somehow joined them, holding half a bag of potato chips, leaning against the table watching the commotion. Once the contract was signed, she gestured with her chin at Ye Ming: "Well done, Ye Ming, more and more people are coming. Your operation is almost as big as our Computer Science Association's." Then she turned back, pointing at the screen and telling the Computer Science Association boys, "Make a note of this bug, and report it to Zhang Yuan later."

Zhang Yuan glanced up, his gaze sweeping over the new faces, then lowered his head to continue coding. After a few keystrokes, he reached for the can of cola Ruan Xing had placed on the table, pushed it towards Ye Ming, and then gestured to the screen with his eyes; the code was running smoothly.

Ye Ming glanced at him, said nothing, picked up his cola and took a sip.

Chen Rui stood on the periphery of the crowd, arms crossed, his gaze falling on the stack of contracts peeking out of his backpack, then on Ye Ming.

A month ago, this person stood at the entrance of the computer lab, only to be shut down by a single sentence: "What are liberal arts students doing learning programming?"

A month later, he sat here, leading a group of people, signing contracts and assigning tasks in a very professional manner. The newcomers all seemed to respect him.

Chen Rui lowered his eyes, staring at the game interface on the screen, and remained silent.

On the screen, the game was running, and several boys from the Computer Science Association were still discussing it animatedly.

Ye Ming turned around and looked at the few people who were already scattered around.

"Let me introduce you all," he pointed to the seats by the window, "Senior Li Yue, the front-end genius. And that guy over there with headphones, Senior Zhang Yuan, the back-end whiz. This game is running thanks to them."

Li Yue poked her head out from the crowd and waved. Zhang Yuan didn't even look up, just raised his hand in response.

Ye Ming then pointed to the corner: "Xu Wei, content coordinator. Send all the stories you've written to her; she'll be responsible for collecting and registering them."

Xu Wei was writing with her head down when she heard her name called, and she looked up.

Ye Ming looked at her, paused, and said, "My dear friend, the job is now in your hands."

Isn't that a bit of an overstatement?

Xu Wei was stunned for a moment.

Then the tips of her ears slowly turned red.

She didn't speak, but just nodded and lowered her head again.

But the moment he lowered his head, the corners of his mouth curved up, and he couldn't suppress it.

She stared at the notebook in her hand, and the words on it suddenly started to sway.

Ruan Xing, standing to the side, tilted her head and watched this scene, her eyes darkening, and remained silent.

Ye Ming then pointed to Ruan Xing: "Ruan Xing is my deskmate in English class. We're both from the School of Humanities, and we write about events together."

Ruan Xing was putting a butterfly pastry into her mouth when she heard this. She nodded and waved to everyone: "Hello everyone, my name is Ruan Xing."

The group nodded to each other as a greeting.

Ye Ming didn't introduce Chen Mo and the five newcomers anymore; there were too many people, and it would be too long-winded to introduce them one by one.

Anyway, you'll get used to it as you write.

"Alright, let's get started." He sat back down in his seat. "If you don't have enough computers, just tell Li Yue and we can squeeze in for now. Feel free to ask me any questions."

Xu Wei stood up, walked over to Chen Yu, Chen Mo, and Ruan Xing, and explained the format and examples to them.

Chen Yu listened intently, his pen constantly jotting down key points in his notebook.

After Xu Wei finished speaking, he pointed to the document and said, "Ye Ming, could you add an 'unexpected twist' to the 'ending' of this event? For example, it was originally a good thing, but ended up with a little regret."

Ye Ming leaned over to take a look and smiled: "Okay, don't worry about writing it. We want these kinds of thoughtful details."

Chen Yu nodded, his fingertips tapping on the keyboard, his speed slow but steady.

Ye Ming also gave Zhao Kai and the others a few instructions. It was a quick exchange, and everyone understood, opening their documents and starting to type.

The sound of keyboard clicks gradually rose. Sunlight slowly shifted westward through the window, and the dappled light falling on the keyboard crept forward inch by inch.

Xu Wei returned to the corner, opened QQ, created a group, and added the people who wrote about the incident.

Group name: Content Assault Team.
