Douluo Continent III Haotian Wulin

Chapter 32: First Visit to the East Sea

Three days later, in Donghai City.

This is an important city on the eastern coast of the Sun Moon Federation, where ports, shipping, and marine resource development are concentrated. Compared to Aolai City, it is much larger and much faster. Before the soul-guided train had even come to a complete stop, people on the platform were already getting up to collect their luggage, and as soon as the doors opened, a flow of people surged out.

Tang Wulin carried his bag and walked slowly forward with the flow of people.

This was the first time he had traveled far from home alone.

This is also the first time I've come to such a big city to register by myself.

Before leaving, Lang Yue folded his clothes again and again. Even though the suitcase was already packed neatly, she still checked it repeatedly, afraid of forgetting anything. Tang Ziran wrote down the route to Donghai Academy, how to find the reception point at the station, and what kind of people to ignore on a piece of paper, stuffed it into his bag, and made him recite it to her in front of her.

Everything was handled perfectly.

But Tang Wulin still felt that the atmosphere at home these past few days was somewhat different from before.

His father was more silent than usual, and his mother always seemed to have something to say when she looked at him. But every time he asked, they would both smile and say that nothing was wrong, only telling him to study hard, cultivate well, and eat well after he arrived in Donghai City.

They didn't see him off for long.

Before the train departed, Lang Yue straightened his collar one last time, and Tang Ziran patted his shoulder, saying only one sentence:

"Wu Lin, you're a big kid now."

At that time, Tang Wulin felt that these words sounded a bit awkward.

But now, standing on the platform of the Donghai City Soul Guidance Train Station, he suddenly felt that he was actually more like someone who had ventured out on his own than before.

The train came to a complete stop.

Tang Wulin followed the flow of people off the train. The moment his feet stepped onto the platform, he felt that everything around him was different from Aolai City. The air here was more humid, the wind carried a distinct sea scent, and the platform was wider, higher, and brighter. The metal roof overhead stretched into the distance in layers, with sturdy supports and neat seams. Even a glance was enough to tell that it was not a piece of ordinary stamped material.

Unlike a child visiting a big city for the first time, he didn't wander around for too long. He just subconsciously adjusted his backpack straps and continued walking.

No matter how hard he tried to hide it, he couldn't help but notice the differences between this place and Aolai City.

Too many people.

The sounds were mixed.

People dragging luggage, people pushing carts, uniformed law enforcement officers, train staff shuttling back and forth, and the constant honking of vehicles outside the platform all blended together, making it hard to even breathe.

As I was walking forward, the crowd suddenly parted to create a gap.

A completely black Soul Guidance vehicle was parked by the platform. Its body lines were smooth, its chassis was very low, and it had both wheels and tracks. It looked like the kind of high-end vehicle that was only commonly seen in big cities.

Two men dressed in black stood beside the car, their eyes scanning the crowd.

Tang Wulin hadn't paid any attention at first, but as he approached, one of them quickly walked towards a certain direction and respectfully spoke:

"Young Master."

Tang Wulin subconsciously tilted his head slightly.

Right beside him, a boy of about the same age walked past.

The boy was wearing a blue tracksuit, about the same height as him, with brown hair, fair skin, and delicate features, but his eyes were somewhat cold. It wasn't feigned arrogance, but a habitual aloofness, as if the people and things around him weren't worth his time.

Just then, the crowd behind them suddenly jostled.

Tang Wulin stumbled, his shoulder bumping lightly against the boy.

"I'm sorry," he said quickly.

The boy paused for a moment, then turned his head to look at him.

Just one glance.

There was no anger, no response, and not even a hint of dissatisfaction. Yet, that look still made Tang Wulin feel a little uncomfortable—because it wasn't a "let it go" attitude, but rather a complete disregard for the minor conflict.

The next second, a hand was already shoving into Tang Wulin's chest.

He's quite strong.

Tang Wulin was pushed back two steps, almost bumping into the person behind him.

"Be careful, you're from the countryside." The man in black who pushed him said coldly before turning around and chasing after the boy in front of him.

Another man in black opened the car door and helped the boy into the vehicle. The door closed, the deep engine sounded, and the black soul-guided car quickly drove away from the platform.

Tang Wulin stood still, raised his hand to rub his chest, and frowned.

It didn't hurt too much when I pushed.

But that inexplicable anger still surged up all at once.

"He's sick," he muttered.

After saying that, he was taken aback for a moment.

This was probably the first time in the past few days that he had been so directly angry.

The flow of people on the platform continued to move out, quickly dispelling the brief disturbance from earlier.

Tang Wulin didn't stop and followed the others towards the exit.

Stepping out of the station, the view suddenly opened up.

Wide streets, rows of high-rise buildings, constantly passing soul-guided vehicles, neon signs near and far, and pedestrians converging from different directions—all these elements almost overwhelmed the view at once. Donghai City retains many old buildings, but this area around the station is clearly a new district, with hard lines and a fast pace, completely different from a small place like Aolai City.

Tang Wulin stood there for a few seconds before taking out a water bottle from the side pocket of his backpack, unscrewing the cap and taking a sip.

Then, he took out the neatly folded piece of paper.

That was the route slip his father gave him before he left home.

The first line is very clear:

"Once you arrive at Donghai, first find the Donghai College new student reception point. Do not trust strangers."

Tang Wulin stared at the line of text for two seconds, then folded the paper back and put it back in his pocket.

Just then, a thin, middle-aged man approached with a smile.

"Little friend, is this your first time in Donghai? Where are your parents? Would you like Uncle to show you around—"

Tang Wulin didn't even glance at him, and turned to walk towards the guard post not far away.

The guard post has four characters written on it: Administrative Law Enforcement.

Two law enforcement officers were sitting inside, on duty.

"Hello, Uncle." Tang Wulin walked to the window, his tone very polite. "Where is the Donghai Academy's new student reception area?"

One of the officers glanced at him and then scanned behind him.

"Did you come alone?"

"Okay." Tang Wulin nodded. "I'm here to report for duty."

The law enforcement officer didn't ask any further questions, but simply pointed to the left front.

"Over there. That's the sign with the white background and blue lettering."

"Thank you, Uncle."

Tang Wulin immediately thanked him and ran over there with his bag on his back.

After running a few steps, he stopped again and looked back at the guard post.

At least, the first thing my father wrote down was right.

After passing through a crowd, he indeed saw a white sign with blue lettering standing upright, on which four characters were clearly written:

Donghai College

Under the sign was a long table, and behind the table sat several young men and women in blue sportswear. They were all quite young, around seventeen or eighteen years old, and were probably upperclassmen from the college.

As soon as Tang Wulin approached, the black-haired girl behind the table looked up.

She has a refreshing appearance, almond-shaped eyes, and a very approachable smile. She is clearly not the kind of person who makes people feel uncomfortable just by looking at her on the platform.

"Little brother," she said with a smile, "are you here to register at Donghai Academy?"
