Marvel: Starting with the forced creation of villainous characters

Chapter 67: A youthful past, a desperate present.

Chapter 67: A youthful past, a desperate present.

"So what exactly is the Illuminati? What are you trying to do?" Sharon Carter asked, then stared intently at Mark.

"I want to change this terrible country. My America shouldn't be like this." Mark's eyes were determined, as if he were about to join the party.

Sharon Carter nodded with relief upon hearing this. Whatever Mark did, at least the boy's intentions were good.

Sharon Carter began to convince herself again.

America is in such a mess right now, and if Mark can change things in the right way, she'd be more than happy to help.

Whether due to slow reaction or unwillingness to face it, Sharon Carter deliberately ignored the word "mine".

"It's good to have dreams, but you can't go astray on the path to achieving them. If you have any questions in the future, you can ask me for advice. No matter what, I will support you," Sharon Carter said softly.

"Mm." Mark nodded, feigning gratitude, but in his heart he was already apologizing.

After all, he didn't come here to make America great again; he came to turn back the clock. Capitalism is good, but imperial autocracy is far more expansive.

First my America, then my Transylvania, then my Milky Way, and finally my universe.

Of course, if conditions permit, I could also have my own multiverse.

Having been coaxed into becoming a "placenta," Sharon Carter, in a daze, let Mark go, and then took on another mission from Mark.

With the help of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, they gather incriminating evidence against powerful figures who are not members of the Shadow Touch, and then hand that evidence over to Mark.

After Sharon Carter left, Mark breathed a sigh of relief, and his previously "cute and honest" face instantly turned gloomy.

Looking at the documents in his hand, Mark decided to call them out one by one and teach these guys a small lesson.

These guys were so careless! They almost caused me to fail before I even got started.

Although he now has LeBlanc's legacy, this is Marvel, after all. If he really attracts a group of superheroes to gang up on him, then he'll have to run away again.

Mark only needed to run the Lolita Island run once; he didn't want to run it again.

Back in his room, Mark began creating mirror images of himself and then using them to criticize the careless and powerful figures one by one.

Killing him is out of the question; after all, loyal dogs are rare, a little lesson is enough.

To be a competent villain, emotional stability is essential.

At the entrance of Xavier's Academy for Gifted Young People.

A middle-aged man, about 188cm tall, wearing a wide-brimmed hat and with deep-set eyes, stared at the plaque in front of him, seemingly lost in thought.

Because it hadn't been cleaned for so long, the signboard was rusty and covered in moss, and weeds grew on both sides of the entrance.

"Charles, have you failed in the end?" Eric whispered.

Eric slightly raised his right hand and used his superpower to unlock the door. With a heavy heart, Eric entered the academy.

Looking at the desolate scene within the academy, Eric couldn't help but recall the idyllic, flower-filled days when the academy first opened.

That was his favorite place to play chess with Charles.

But now everything has changed. No, things have changed for Charles. The last time he played chess with Charles was only a little over three months ago.

He is not from this era, but from the Cold War period.

After the Gulf War broke out, he was just about to rescue the White Queen when he was inexplicably transported to this era.

Not belonging to this era, it took him a long time to adapt before accepting the fact that he had come to the future.

Through those old newspapers, he learned what happened to mutants in the future, and that mutants in this era had disappeared or vanished.

But he didn't believe Charles would disappear with the mutants, so he came here, to the place where his and Charles's dream began.

"Hmm?" Eric suddenly stopped and frowned as he looked at the small house not far away.

He sensed a moving metallic object there, and if nothing unexpected happened, there should be someone there.

Eric cautiously approached the cabin and saw a middle-aged man wiping the body of a bald old man.

As the middle-aged man wiped the bald old man's body, he said, "Charles, we have to leave here."

"Those wolves from the Land Administration Bureau are back again. They want to drive us away and then seize your family's ancestral property. It's a pity your mind is sometimes sharp and sometimes dull, otherwise we wouldn't have been unable to even hold onto this place."

"I haven't heard from any new mutants in so long. Humanity has won; mutants have truly disappeared."

.

"Do you think I might become the last mutant? And then stand guard over your graves in the sunset?"

"The superpowers of mutants were ultimately no match for human technology. We made many changes, but mutants still perished."

"I don't know what the worst possible outcome for mutants is like, but I feel like even the worst is better than what we're experiencing now, right?"

"Do you think I should find a job? I think I could be a bodyguard for those rich people. Of course, we need to find a good employer first, preferably a rich young lady."

"I'm getting old, but I can still make a living off my body."

Professor X, who seemed to be suffering from dementia, moved slightly, as if angrily rebuking Logan for being a kept man.

Logan wasn't angry. Instead, he grinned mischievously and said, "There's nothing I can do. This is all I have to offer. You know my healing ability is getting weaker and weaker. I believe it won't be long before it disappears."

Outside the window, Eric looked at Charles with a complicated expression.

Even when the other person was old and had lost all his hair, he could still recognize him at a glance as Charles, his best friend and his nemesis.

At this moment, Eric didn't know how to describe his feelings. Angry? Yes, very angry.

He couldn't accept that Charles had ended up like this, but he felt more sorrow for his lack of ambition.

Eric wanted to go in and mock Charles mercilessly, to mock his belief in humanity and the resulting predicament, to mock how he had turned against himself for the sake of humanity.

But in the end, he held back because he couldn't bear to.

Eric, whose whole body was trembling slightly, had an urge to escape. He didn't want to face Charles like this, and he didn't want to accept this future.

Eric began to take deep breaths, trying to calm himself down.

But his heavy breathing gave away his location.

"Who is it?" Logan quickly stood up, extended his claws, and then looked warily toward the door.

Professor X, still sitting on the dragon throne, looked dazed, as if unaware of what had happened in reality.

Realizing he had been exposed, Eric took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

"Don't be nervous, I mean no harm," Eric said in a low, reassuring voice, his hat pulled low.

"Get out of here. I can take care of you right now for trespassing," Logan warned in a hoarse voice.

"You still can't handle me?" Eric said, raising his right hand slightly. Logan was forced to the ground, his steel claws digging deep into the floor.

Logan, struggling to lift his head, stared incredulously at the mysterious man before him.

"Magnetic control?" Logan asked through gritted teeth.

The other person's superpowers reminded him of that extremely annoying old guy.

But he clearly remembered that the old guy was dead, burned to ashes by the rampaging Phoenix.

(The author has made minor adjustments to the X-Men storyline here for the sake of plot coherence. However, considering the constant reboots of X-Men and the unique nature of Marvel comics, this should not affect the reading experience.)

"Logan, right? We're compatriots, you don't need to be so wary of me." Eric took off his hat.

Logan's pupils contracted when he saw the other person's appearance.

Magneto!

No! It's a younger version of Magneto!

Logan, who was already incredulous, became even more shocked, his face looking as if he had seen a ghost in broad daylight.

"Magneto? Could he be a clone of some organization?" Logan didn't believe that the person in front of him was the real Magneto. Instead, he was more inclined to believe that the other party might be a clone born in some laboratory.

Eric introduced himself: "It seems you know me. Let me introduce myself. I am Eric from 20 years ago, the Magneto you mentioned."

"Eric?" A hoarse, aged voice rang out, trembling with shame.

Perhaps because he had seen Eric in his younger days, Charles, whose eyes had become clear, looked at him with some disbelief.

Just now, having regained consciousness, he used his mental abilities, which had diminished considerably, to read the other person's memories.

Based on the other person's memories, Charles confirmed that the Eric in front of him was indeed from the past, and from 20 years ago.

Seeing that Professor X had regained consciousness, Eric complained with exasperation, "Charles, you're not even 60 yet, but you look like you're 90, and—your dementia has come way too early!"

"Yes, I'm aging quite quickly, and so are you," Charles said with a wry smile.

Because of those gene products specifically designed for mutants, these mutants age faster, mainly due to the decline of the X gene, which causes them to age prematurely.

Charles cautioned, "The drinks of this era are toxic to mutants; they make them age faster. So you'd better drink water or alcohol normally."

Eric's expression changed upon hearing this. His heart blazing with murderous intent, he stared intently at Charles, gritting his teeth as he demanded, "So they're committing genocide against mutants?"

Charles nodded with a wry smile: "That's right, this is the mildest form of genocide."

"So you just stood by and watched? You clearly had the ability to stop all of this," Eric demanded, his eyes bloodshot.

Faced with his young old friend's questioning, Charles lowered his head in shame and weakly explained, "When I discovered that there were fewer and fewer new mutants, I realized the conspiracy of the government's higher-ups, but it was too late. Jyn's rampage had consumed too much of my power, and I was no longer able to resist."

"I warned you from the beginning that humans cannot be trusted when you sided with them!" Eric rebuked, exasperated.
