Three or five people stared blankly at the scene before them.

Yan Ming, who was covered in stench, looked at the scene before him and couldn't help but cover his nose, saying, "Who's burning excrement here? They have no sense of public decency at all."

Ji Bai looked at the unidentified object slowly burning not far away. The stench from the burning seemed to be an amplified source, almost forming a substantial attack.

"However," Ji Bai began, "why does it look so familiar?"

Upon hearing Ji Bai's words, Yan Ming couldn't help but glance at the scene before him again. He even squinted at the thing that looked like a cesspool, and a horrifying thought suddenly popped into his mind.

"Could it be someone you know who was burned?" Yan Ming asked.

Faced with Yan Ming's train of thought, Ji Bai was somewhat surprised. He looked at the other person with slight surprise and said, "I don't know anyone that old."

He paused, then added in a low voice, "Even the giants aren't that big."

Yan Ming clearly didn't understand Ji Bai's lame joke; he obviously had other thoughts in mind: "Are we just going to stand here like idiots?"

Ji Bai didn't answer him. Instead, he tore off a piece of his sleeve and covered his face completely, not even his eyes were visible.

Under the incredulous gazes of the two people beside him, Ji Bai roughly shook the person lying on the wooden board awake, even deliberately altering his voice.

"Wake up, I know you're not asleep."

Having lost much of his memory, Wang Zhixuan was already somewhat dazed. After being roughly shaken awake, he almost instinctively uttered, "Water..."

"Tsk," Ji Bai couldn't help but complain, "What time is it? All you do is sleep."

"Don't sleep."

Ji Bai grabbed the other man by the scruff of his neck as roughly as if he were a cat, acting as if he were a real robber, except that while others robbed the wealthy, he robbed a half-corpse.

He even politely helped the other person open their eyes: "Look, isn't that your relative?"

Wang Zhixuan opened his eyes with difficulty, and following the other person's words, he couldn't help but look at the huge charred mass, trying to find familiar traces in it.

After a long pause, he shook his head: "That thing doesn't seem to be human, but I can't be sure..."

Ji Bai was somewhat surprised by what the other party said. It wasn't that he was looking for any value in the other party's words, but rather that he didn't expect the other party to respond so obediently.

It's clear he's not entirely a fool.

After uttering that pointless remark, Wang Zhixuan said in a hoarse voice, "Water, I'm dying of thirst..."

……

Yan Ming watched Wang Zhixuan wolf down his water and couldn't help but say to Gongsun Yang, who was standing next to him, "Why is he steaming?"

Gongsun Yang shook his head and said, "You're absolutely right. This person really did get put out of a fire by water."

Yan Ming rolled his eyes: "How could that be? I think he's just incredibly lucky."

Upon hearing Yan Ming's words, an ambiguous emotion flashed in Gongsun Yang's eyes. He thought to himself, "The aristocratic families really have a lot of ways to save their lives. They can still survive even after all this."

Their conversation, of course, did not escape Ji Bai's ears. Ji Bai listened to the two's discussion but did not feel much concern. Instead, he looked at Wang Zhixuan with a smile.

"Have you had enough to drink?" he asked.

Wang Zhixuan drank until he was half full, thought for a moment, and said sincerely, "Thank you."

"That's it?" Ji Bai asked.
