"Don't worry, the officers and guards I brought are all absolutely trustworthy and very tight-lipped."

Liu Jinsong said confidently, "I've also made arrangements around here; there won't be any eyes watching."

"Thanks to Brother Liu for taking charge of the school's security force," Jiang said politely. "I am truly grateful for your great help."

"You're exaggerating. Old Chen instructed me on this matter." Liu Jingsong saw several people walking towards them in the distance. "Oh, our testers have arrived."

Mo Zian and his group formed a single file and ran forward to the two of them.

"Stand at attention! Hello, teacher! Hello, Director Liu!"

Mo Zian and the others saluted in unison.

After Liu Jingsong respectfully raised his hand to return the greeting, he said with a smile, "Classmates, I'm here today to be in charge of confidentiality and assistance. Don't worry about me, you are the main characters. Let's get started."

"Yes."

The group looked at Jiang Lude, and Mo Zi'an reported, "Reporting to Director Jiang, the weapons testers have assembled. Five were expected, and five are present. Please give instructions!"

"Retrieve weapon number A, target number one in position."

"yes!"

Liu Jinsong's subordinates had already brought over boxes of live ammunition, and together with Mo Zian and the others, they unpacked the live ammunition and then helped insert the bullets into cloth ammunition belts.

Chen Bu-nai was selected as the first tester.

The first round is the most basic part, which involves shooting at various targets from a prone position.

Chen Bu-nai pulled the trigger, and the sound of gunfire, like war drums, filled everyone's ears.

A fifty-round ammunition belt was quickly fired.

Chen Bunei gave a very high evaluation of the first round of shooting experience and achieved an exceptionally good result. Relying solely on the iron sights, he hit all the targets at a range of 300 zhang (150m) using burst fire.

Switch to a different ammunition belt and begin the second round.

The second round adopted the conventional standing posture.

The bare gun of the Type A is slightly lighter than Mo Zian's [Judge], but when equipped with a tripod and bullets, its weight is definitely much greater than that of the [Judge].

Following Mo Zian's instructions, Chen Bu'nai disassembled the tripod and successfully lifted the No. 1.

As Chen Bu'nei's body continued to tremble, the ammunition belt was emptied once again.

This time, Chen Bunei's shooting score dropped significantly.

This shows that although Chen Bunei's strength was sufficient to lift the gun while standing, it was still a considerable challenge for him, as the recoil of the machine gun bullets and the weight of the gun itself still posed a significant challenge.

It should be noted that Chen Bu'nei's strength is among the best in this group of Awakened Officer trainees, so it is not difficult to see that it is impossible for this type of weapon to be used in a standing position for a long period of time.

It's even less likely for ordinary soldiers to achieve this.

"Don't be discouraged. You can try designing by holding the handle at the front," Mo Zian said expectantly. "The handle is largely for this design purpose."

After Mo Zian stepped forward to demonstrate the posture to Chen Bu'nei, Chen Bu'nei walked to the target position.

The shooting posture before him had never appeared in any of the infantry manuals of the Guangwu Empire—the sling was slung over his shoulder, Chen Bu'nai held the handle with his left hand, and rested the gunstock under his arm with his right arm, holding the gun in a half-lifting, half-hugging manner.

Obviously, this grip method makes it impossible to shoot accurately, so Chen Bu-nei abandoned all long-range targets.

The sound of gunfire suddenly rose, like the sudden beating of war drums.

The Type A tank in Chen Bu'nai's arms unleashed a terrifying burst of firepower, leaving everyone present speechless and trembling in the face of such overwhelming firepower.

This gave everyone a slight sense of unreality; could this really be the level of firepower a squad could achieve?

What surprised everyone even more was that this seemingly "random" shooting method appeared to be exceptionally effective in controlling recoil, and its accuracy at close range was also remarkably high.

With Chen Bu'nei's skill level, he could hit a target within 100 zhang (50m) in a short burst of 3 shots.

"From now on, let's call this shooting method the close-range shooting method," Jiang Lude said as he walked to Mo Zian's side. "Afterwards, let's confirm the specific key points of the movements and include them in the official instruction manual."

"Yes, teacher!"

With the fourth ammunition belt empty, Chen Bu-nei's test firing of the Type A missile came to an end.

Mo Zian prepared to replace the gun barrel—since this was only a verification model, it couldn't be used for extreme testing yet.

Mo Zian opened a small latch at the connection between the receiver and the barrel, held the gun barrel with one hand, and slightly turned the handle counterclockwise with the other.

"Click..."

With a mechanical transmission sound, the barrel was easily removed. Then, the latch between the handle and the barrel was opened, and the handle was successfully separated from the barrel. The handle was then put onto another new barrel, and the new barrel was then transferred to the machine gun by holding the handle.

"Click..."

Rotate in the opposite direction and then close the locking catch to lock it. The replacement of the gun barrel for the No. 1 gun is now complete. No wrenches or screwdrivers are used in this process, and there is almost no risk of being burned during operation.

Most importantly, the process of Mo Zian's independent operation took no more than 20 seconds.

It is foreseeable that with the help of a secondary gunner, the time could be reduced by half again without any problem—this design was inspired by Mo Zian, whose inspiration came from successful weapons such as the ZB26 light machine gun in his previous life.

In this way, the machine gun barrel can be replaced temporarily during combat without affecting the continuity of firepower.

It must be said that the design of Model A was not entirely successful; many of its design elements would likely have been removed or improved later.

This is precisely the purpose of this experiment.

Next up is Test B. Han Dafu was chosen as Tester Number One, and Zhao Shengnan was Tester Number Two.

Because the design of No. 2 was quite novel, Mo Zian gave everyone a brief explanation of its usage and design features before the test.

Following the tactical maneuvers described by Mo Zian, Han Dafu flipped the safety with his thumb, gripped the front handguard with his left hand, and pulled the bolt back with his right hand to fire—this was different from all previous designs and the usage habits were completely different.

"Bang, bang, bang..."

The sound of No. 2 firing at first glance sounds a lot like the "Golden Spear," but it is more muffled.

The seemingly flimsy bipod was surprisingly stable, but Han Dafu's face wasn't pressed against the shoulder rest as usual in a shooting motion, which puzzled Mo Zian.

The first round of prone shooting, consisting of 50 rounds of drum magazine, was quickly finished. Mo Zian stepped forward and asked his question.

"Look, the cocking handle moves backward when firing, or rather, it vibrates a bit." Han Dafu pointed to his slightly reddened right cheek. "The hot air blowing out is a bit irritating; if I put it on my face, I'm afraid it will get into my eyes."

Mo Zian realized that this was caused by the gas from the ammunition blowing the bolt open. Traditional layouts would not have this problem because the cocking handle is on the side, which is a major design flaw.

"How was the shooting experience?" Mo Zian continued to ask. "Your results were quite impressive."

"Yeah, the shooting feels pretty good." Han Dafu nodded heavily. "The recoil is easy to control, and I feel the accuracy is also good, but the aiming baseline is a bit high, which I'm not used to."

Mo Zian noted down all the key points Han Dafu had mentioned. "Alright, let's begin the next round of shooting."

Han Dafu nodded, holding the one-piece handle on top of the receiver with one hand, and with the other hand he gathered the bipod under the barrel and locked it with the latch. The No. 2 machine gun had completed the conversion between deployment and carrying status.

Han Dafu's standing shooting score in the second round proved that her assessment of the No. 2 machine gun was accurate.

During almost continuous long bursts of fire, not a single shot missed the target at a range of 400 zhang (200 m), which is enough to demonstrate that the maneuverability of the No. 2 is absolutely beyond doubt.

The third round of shooting was designed to be improvised, and Han Dafu was required to perform several tactical maneuvers during the shooting process.

Han Dafu's chosen movements are not flashy, but they are all extremely practical.

For example, the firing positions were changed from prone to standing, running and firing, crawling forward and firing, and the use of irregular cover. The actions were all performed very well, which shows that the Type 2B has excellent portability and firepower deployment speed.

The subsequent test firings by several people also adopted similar techniques to those used by Han Dafu, and the conclusions were consistent—the ammunition leaked gas, the aiming baseline was high, but the handling performance was excellent and the portability was very good.

Chen Bu-nei was the last to step onto the target position. He abandoned all other conventional shooting postures and only used the close-range shooting method to test the sweeping capability of the No. 2. Since the No. 2 was not designed with a front handle, the rear handle posture was too awkward, so Chen Bu-nei could only hold the front handguard.

However, after Chen Bu'nai fired a few shots, an unexpected incident occurred.

boom! ! !

With a loud bang, a small burst of fire erupted from the gun barrel of the No. 2 gun, and the upper handguard was also blasted far away.

The barrel exploded.

"Damn it, you motherfucker!"

Chen Bu'nai, as the first person involved, was startled, but then reacted instantly and immediately removed the drum magazine and the bullets from the gun barrel to prevent a secondary accident.

Thankfully, Chen Bunei was wearing the [Jue-style] helmet.

As it turns out, safety is no small matter.

Everyone around was stunned for a moment, while Mo Zian quickly stepped forward and asked with concern, "Bu Nei, are you injured?"

"Oh, it's nothing, it's nothing." Chen Bu-nei shook his head and put Number B back on the platform.

Jiang Lude's expression was not good. He stepped forward and announced, "Let's end the test here today. Overall, it was very good, and we received a lot of feedback. Thank you all for participating in the test."

There will be more tests like this in the future, and you may need to participate again, but please keep everything here confidential.

"Yes, Director Jiang, please rest assured, we have already signed a confidentiality agreement," Luo Chong replied, taking the lead.

Jiang Lu nodded in satisfaction. "Zi'an, Shengnan, take your things and come back to the teaching and research office with me."

"Yes."

"Yes."
