Warhammer 40: Saviors Emerging from the Bottom

As the head separated from the body, the Infected leader's life came to an end. Along with his life, Nurgle's blessing also vanished. The warp energy that had obscured reality gradually dissipated, and a scene resembling hell appeared before the Infected leader.

He looked at his bloated, decaying body and a relieved smile appeared on his face: "Thank you."

This poor fellow had no idea that the real nightmare had only just begun. From the moment he handed his soul over to Nurgle, everything he owned ceased to belong to him.

This is the most despairing aspect of Warhammer 40: no one can control their own destiny, not even the Emperor and his offspring, although strictly speaking, they are not human.

Looking at the head lying on the ground, Xiao Yi felt a mix of emotions. He wanted to do something but didn't know where to start. In the end, he could only recite a short passage he had learned from Matthias as a prayer for the dead: "May the Emperor save us from eternal suffering."

As expected, the body left behind by the infected leader was resurrected as a zombie. It stretched out its only remaining arm and turned around to try to control the man behind it who had killed it, but its movements were too slow, and it couldn't even touch the hem of Xiao Yi's clothes.

This unexpected event has brought the battle back to square one. What they will face next is a protracted war, and whoever can hold out will gain control of Bakda's hive.

In order to gain a greater advantage, Ivan dispatched several units of infected soldiers who would search for surviving humans in other districts and spread Nurgle's plague to them, thereby replenishing the troops that had been rapidly lost in the battle.

Compared to brainless plague zombies that slowly charge in to their deaths, Ivan needs cannon fodder who can operate firearms.

The shelter where Xiao Yi and his group were located was crowded and made no attempt to hide their location, so it naturally became a target.
