The Last Sentinel

Chapter 126 Before the war begins, ban the Sentinels!

The spaceship left the alien prison island and roared away.

Hughes didn't say exactly where they were going, and Hua Xiaobai and the others didn't dare to ask, for fear that they would give themselves away if they made a sound.

Several people sat in the rear cabin of the spaceship, looking down at each other with their ears and noses facing upwards.

A curtain separated the front and rear cabins, and Hughes and Pete's conversation could be clearly heard.

"I've known for a long time that Zhao Donglai is Lin Qilin's son."

"I am also well aware that the reason why [Great Wall Watch] did not take over as the sixth speaker was because they were planning for his disciple Zhao Donglai to succeed him."

"From the moment Zhao Donglai stepped into the Human Alliance, I knew this day would eventually come!"

On the spaceship, Hughes spoke eloquently in a calm tone.

Sitting opposite Hughes, Pete flattered, "Therefore, this decisive battle in the Supreme Council was less a challenge initiated by Zhao Donglai, and more a predetermined defeat bestowed upon him by Lord Hughes!"

Hughes said calmly, "To be honest, I was still quite shocked that Zhao Donglai was able to annihilate the Perfect City. Back in the Earth Alliance era, the Perfect City was not dealt with, but I did not expect Zhao Donglai to be able to do it."

Pete said, "Sir, you are mistaken. How could Zhao Donglai have the ability to destroy Perfect City? That was the work of the Sentinels! Without the Sentinels, Zhao Donglai would be nothing but a nobody!"

Hughes's old eyes gleamed with a sharp light: "Pete is right! Zhao Donglai can be so arrogant and challenge me because of the Sentinels. Without the Sentinels, where would Zhao Donglai get the guts to fight me? Even his master, [Great Wall Watch], might not dare to fight me!"

Pete asked, "Mr. Hughes, are you saying we're going to the Himalayas now?"

Hughes rubbed his old hands together, a broad smile spreading across his face. "No, there's still a day before the High Council convenes. That extra twenty-four hours is enough for us to seal the Sentinel! The Sentinel can't appear at this High Council meeting; he's too unpredictable!"

Pete was taken aback. "The Sentinels have been sealed away? Sir, the Sentinels are not easy to deal with. Their combat power is astonishing, and they also have the Vanguard Titan-class mech, the Crimson Destroyer..."

"Don't worry." Hughes closed his eyes. "The Sentinels have no choice but to be banned! The High Council will become my personal fiefdom. From now on, I will be the sixth Speaker, not the interim Speaker!"

When these words reached the back seats, Hua Xiaobai nudged Eighty-Ge next to him with his knee.

Beneath his helmet, Brother Eighty glanced lazily at Hua Xiaobai and nodded.

Although the two did not say a word, they had already completed their communication.

Hua Xiaobai said, "See? I told you so! We've caught a big fish this time! This Hughes is definitely not a respectable person. He's not only thinking about dealing with Zhao Donglai, but also about dealing with the Sentinel Commander. Let's make this a sure thing!"

Brother Eighty said, "Where does Hughes get his confidence to seal the Sentinels? Can he even defeat the Sentinels?"

Hua Xiaobai said, "Let's wait and see. He's been the Speaker of the Senate for so many years. Even a sunken ship has three pounds of nails. He must have something in his hands!"

Brother Eighty said, "Let's see how it goes. Let's find an opportunity to take down Hughes."

Just then, the spaceship paused briefly, then began its rapid descent.

With the roar of the engines accompanied by the sound of a hurricane, the spaceship soon docked on a black, rocky island.

Pete walked over and said to the seven men, "Disembark!"

"yes!"

The group followed and disembarked from the ship, where they were greeted by an old and dilapidated war base.

Those huge, black, jumbled rocks that look like they're in the distance are actually the dilapidated, towering steel chimneys of a spaceship.

Rows of old ship hulls, mottled and corroded by the waves, are piled up on the island like weeds. Upon closer inspection, it looks like a complete cyberpunk war ruin from an old era.

Looking at the scene before him, Brother Eighty could easily imagine that this was one of the war ruins left behind after the 1999 Planet Defense War.

It's hard to imagine how powerful the Earth Alliance's fleet was back then; it probably really could blot out the sky.

Just like the famous saying of the Human Alliance, we don't care how many suns they have, our fleet will blot out the sky!

"Let's go!"

Hughes walked ahead and said, "Let's go and pay homage to the god of science! Perhaps only the god of science can seal the Sentinels."

Pete asked curiously, "The God of Science? Speaker, I'm very curious, what is this God of Science you're talking about? Is he from outer space?"

"Heh!" Hughes laughed. "How can a powerful alien be a god of Terra? Even the primal will wouldn't acknowledge it! The scientific gods I'm talking about are super monsters born on the planet Terra itself. They are beings that science cannot explain, and they are freaks created by the Homo sapiens themselves."

"During the 1999 Interstellar Defense War, Pangu used the laws of origin to awaken them from the scientific void, hoping they would contribute to Homo sapiens' interstellar war. However, these guys were completely out of control and did not obey orders at all."

"Pangu sealed these guys here, so now seems to be the best time to release them."

Pete said, "Speaker, they don't even obey Pangu's orders, do you think they'll listen to us?"

"Yes, they will," Hughes said. "They are monsters born of science. They only like to be enemies with geniuses who are highly skilled in science. The Sentinels' dual S-class talents determine that they are unparalleled in science, especially in mathematics. As long as we release them, they will follow the scent to find the Sentinels and fight them!"

Pete clapped his hands and said, "In this way, the Sentinels will no longer be able to participate in the High Council."

A steel hatch was pushed open, and several people walked down the steps along the steel pier. Along the way, propaganda posters from the Earth Alliance era were posted everywhere, filled with words about fire and war, which stirred their hearts.

Brother Eighty stopped and noticed a huge banner with hot words written on it.

"The starlight has been extinguished on the left, and the war has spread to the right. No matter where you are, the banner of Holy Terra will fly for you."

"Don't ask me when the war will end. In the long history of mankind, peace is nothing more than the epitaph of the weak, and war is the immortal monument of the strong."

"Remember, on the scales of the universe, only blood can restore balance. Terra's ships will not slow down because of the strength of the heretics. They will either rebuild order amidst gunfire or laugh themselves to ashes in chaos. The instruments of torture in the Inquisition have been calibrated, and the whispers of the gods will be the final echo."

Ding-dong-

The sound was so loud that Old Liu bumped into Eighty Brother, who then came to his senses and hurriedly followed.

On the black and red steel pier, the traces of the old era were clearly visible. The group followed Hughes into the depths of this sealed military base.
