The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 105 Poaching and Social Skills

"Yes, junior brother, you're dreaming," the skinny wizard Anlie said with a friendly smile.

Aiden smiled but didn't say anything.

His lips curled slightly upward, and his expression was calm. He leaned against a stone pillar by the roadside, looking very relaxed.

A few breaths later, the silver-robed wizard from the Wizarding Council who had been conversing with Dean Mephisto high in the sky sped past the group of wizarding apprentices who were looking up and watching, and appeared in front of Aiden.

Three silver streaks of light descended from the sky at an astonishing speed.

The impact created a strong gust of wind, which lifted the pebbles on the ground and shattered them into fine powder in mid-air.

The three silver-robed wizards stood firmly, and fine cracks appeared on the stone slabs beneath their feet, spreading outwards.

"That's Aiden. All the achievements are thanks to him," Dean Mephisto said, pointing to Aiden with goodwill.

The wrinkles on his face smoothed out, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but turn up, making him look full of energy.

He never expected that Aiden would actually succeed, that he would actually get his paper published in the Wizarding Daily!

This not only brought Rune Courtyard into the spotlight once again, but also boosted the organization's points across the entire Rune Courtyard.

Dean Mephisto was overjoyed.

He tried to appear calm, but the smugness in his eyes was impossible to hide.

Aiden smiled and nodded, while Annie, the fat wizard Sieg, the skinny wizard Anlie, and the others were completely dumbfounded.

The fat wizard Sig’s face twitched, and he froze on the spot as if he had been frozen in place, forgetting even to breathe.

The skinny wizard Anlie's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

Especially the latter, did they think they were dreaming?

Annie rubbed her eyes hard and blinked several times to make sure she wasn't seeing things.

"Congratulations, excellent little fellow. Your 'Sweet Potion' has been recognized by the Wizarding Council and received a C-grade rating. We hope you will continue your efforts and make further contributions to the wizarding world." The handsome silver-robed wizard in the center smiled at Aiden, and the others curiously glanced at Aiden's appearance.

This silver-robed wizard had fair skin and a sharp jawline.

He spoke with a gentle smile, his gaze sweeping over Aiden. The two silver-robed wizards beside him nodded slightly.

It is extremely difficult for a mid-level wizard apprentice to create a work.

This wasn't something said casually.

Many of the apprentices present had been studying for decades, yet they had never managed to produce a single decent experiment.

"Thank you. I will," Aiden said politely.

"If there are no problems, sign this parchment and collect your reward. Your achievement will be mentioned in tomorrow's Wizarding Daily. You will receive patent royalties annually thereafter," the man in the center continued, pulling a parchment from his robes for Aiden to verify and taking a picture of him.

Aiden felt a slight burning sensation on his face, as if something had gently brushed against it.

The parchment, when unfolded, was half a meter long, and the words on it were small and densely packed, all of them words of encouragement.

"Of course, no problem. My esteemed wizards." Aiden took a deep breath, signed his name, and added the signature from Rune Courtyard in District 147.

Aiden took the quill pen and wrote steadily, each stroke clear and distinct, without the slightest hesitation.

The signature was from a conversation he had with Dean Mephisto.

"Well, here's your reward. Good luck, kid." The group tossed down a silver package with a C-grade symbol on it.

The silver runes on the surface of the package shimmered with a faint glow, twinkling intermittently.

"Little guy, how about switching to another wizarding organization? There are better opportunities there," one of them asked.

The silver-robed wizard who spoke took a step forward, his tone casual, but his gaze was fixed on Aiden's face.

"Huh!" Aiden didn't expect someone to poach his girlfriend in public.

Aiden's expression froze for a moment, and the corner of his mouth twitched uncontrollably twice.

"He has a non-compete agreement," Dean Mephisto said quietly from the side.

Dean Mephisto's voice wasn't loud, but every word was clear. His smile vanished, replaced by a forced, insincere expression.

"Sorry to bother you."

Several silver-robed wizards exchanged glances. Simultaneously, silver halos appeared beneath their feet, their bodies instantly becoming transparent. Then, like smoke blown away by the wind, they vanished in the blink of an eye.

Things happened very quickly, in less than a minute. The members of the Wizarding Council acted swiftly and seemed extremely busy.

"Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!"

These three words came out of the fat wizard Sig’s mouth, and his voice was so loud that the entire Rune Courtyard could hear them.

"What did I just see?" the fat wizard Sig asked, dumbfounded.

"Aiden, you're on the Wizarding Daily. I must be dreaming," the skinny wizard Anlie said as well.

The skinny wizard Anlie pinched his arm hard, wincing in pain, but the shock on his face didn't lessen at all. His legs were trembling, and he could barely stand.

The two of them were jumping around like madmen.

Not only that, the other wizard apprentices were also dumbfounded, and those who had been in contact with Aiden all came up to congratulate him.

The apprentices all swarmed around Aiden, completely surrounding him.

"Junior Brother Aiden, you're amazing!"

"Junior Brother Aiden, how did you do that?"

"Those three silver-robed wizards from the Wizarding Council think very highly of you!"

Someone nearby loudly echoed, their tone full of envy. The surrounding chatter grew louder and louder, like a pot boiling over.

The crowd held Aiden in the center, surrounding him tightly.

"Junior Brother Aiden, you really did it, just like Senior Sister Iseli," Annie said, her face flushed red.

"I am ashamed, I am ashamed. I will continue to work hard and contribute to the wizarding world." Aiden bowed, clasped his hands in a standard wizard's salute.

This achievement belonged to Mr. Ironbeard, who published it first, and it passed the review of the Wizarding Council.

If that scoundrel Mr. Ironbeard knew, he'd probably be furious.

But so what? The paper has already been published, and the procedures have been completed.

Although it wasn't exactly honorable, Aiden wasn't worried about any problems.

He knew perfectly well that this kind of thing was all too common in the wizarding world.

Whoever publishes first is the original author.

That's how the rules are set.

After all, the original manuscript and experimental data were in his possession, making him the undisputed first author.

Otherwise, wouldn't that be questioning the Wizarding Council's determination?

High in the air.

Dean Mephisto hovered in mid-air, looking down at Aiden, who was giving speeches below. A slight smile played on his lips, and he wore a kind expression, feeling quite satisfied.

"This kid is much more talkative than Iseli, and his social skills are far superior. His future is limitless..." Dean Mephisto thought to himself, his hands behind his back, his fingers tapping lightly.

For wizards, interpersonal relationships are also very important.

Resources are limited, and there are many capable people. In many cases, the allocation of resources is inseparable from the closeness or distance of relationships.
