The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 122 Amber Cat's Eye, Anti-Magic Array Aura

Aiden couldn't help but lean forward, wanting to get a better look.

"Although my carriage isn't the latest model, I'm wealthy; I previously installed some expensive extras. One of them is an amber cat's eye that detects witchcraft; any witchcraft below the second circle level can be detected by this cat's eye."

After Sister Iseli finished speaking, she tapped the crystal ball a few times.

Her fingertips traced a faint blue line across the surface of the crystal ball, causing the image inside to flicker slightly before settling back down.

The scene begins to slowly advance, moving towards the area in front.

Suddenly, the crystal ball shook, revealing a scene of the area in front of it, complete with different markings.

The scene changes rapidly, with red and green dots flashing and jumping on the surface of the sphere. Some dots are large, and some are small, representing different things.

Red represents danger, and green represents safety.

Not far from the chariot, there was a dark, somewhat surreal area that was constantly approaching it.

The edges of that area were blurry, like a blob of ink spreading in water, but not completely transparent.

If you look closely, you can see something moving inside.

"This is a dark magic circle! It's extremely well hidden. From the outside, it appears transparent. If we continue for another half hour, we'll stumble into it." Senior Sister Iseli's eyes turned cold, and her lips pressed tightly into a line.

The temperature in the corridor seemed to drop several degrees, and Aiden even felt goosebumps rise on his arms.

"Aiden, your caution is sound. If the carriage had crashed into it, it could have been quite dangerous."

"Damn it, someone really is trying to harm us," Aiden said through gritted teeth.

"Senior sister, what should we do? Everything depends on you. I'm still too weak," Aiden said helplessly.

"If we can find the source of the formation, that will be good." Senior Sister Iseli regained her composure.

Her tone was steady, as if she were talking about something very simple.

The chill on his face had subsided considerably, and he returned to his lazy demeanor.

She put the wand away and tucked it back into her waistband.

"Perfect timing. The special cat's eye I installed can help me continue tracking. The magic circle is more powerful than ordinary witchcraft because it requires a huge amount of energy to maintain."

Inside the crystal ball, the magic circle began to expand continuously, and thin threads of magical power were analyzed.

The thickest one connects directly to a small island below the magic circle.

The thin lines seemed to be alive, constantly wriggling on the surface of the sphere, emitting a dim light.

Each line represents the direction of energy flow, extending from the island all the way to the core of the magic circle.

"It seems that the person who wants to attack us with a black magic circle is on this small island," Senior Sister Iseli said with a cold expression.

"Wow, that's impressive." Aiden's eyes widened.

"Senior sister, this cat's eye looks incredibly powerful." Aiden moved closer to the cat's eye that was glowing with an eerie green light, reached out and touched its cool surface, and continued.

"Of course, this cat's eye is much more expensive than my carriage. It was dug out from the skull of a glass cat with cultivation comparable to a quasi-second-ring wizard," Senior Sister Iseli said with a smile, leaning back in her seat.

"However, maintaining this cat's eye requires quite a few magic stones, so I don't usually like to use it. I didn't expect to discover the danger as soon as I opened it." Senior Sister Iseli put away her smile.

"How much will it cost?" Aiden asked curiously, unable to resist glancing at the cat's eye again.

"About 20,000 magic stones per minute," Senior Sister Iseli said, holding up two fingers.

hiss!

Aiden gasped and shrank back.

"Normally, wizards can't afford it. Only wizards like us with a second job can afford it," Senior Sister Iseli said with a smile, spreading her hands.

"Senior sister, you really are a rich woman." Aiden gave a thumbs up and said sincerely.

"So what should we do now? Change our route or just go straight for them?" Aiden asked, rubbing his hands together.

"Of course we won't let them go. Although we don't know who they are, the fact that they used a dark wizard's magic circle means they're not entirely confident of victory," Senior Sister Iseli said after a moment of silence.

"Although my current combat strength is average, I've never been afraid of anyone when it comes to equipment." After saying that, Senior Sister Iseli stood up abruptly, took out several magical artifacts from her robes, and put them on one by one.

The metal clanged together with a crisp sound, and the runes on the magical artifact lit up one by one, emitting faint glows of different colors.

He picked out another item and casually tossed it over.

"Here you go, Aiden. This is for you. It'll be useful for the wizard apprentice too," said Senior Sister Iselly.

"Me too?" Aiden caught it with both hands, overjoyed.

This is a magical artifact shaped like an umbrella, entirely black and smooth-looking, with runes faintly flowing across its surface.

"Of course, this is a reward for your hard work in helping me advance and win," Senior Sister Iseli said with a slight smile.

"This magical artifact is called the Parachute. It's an apprentice-level artifact, capable of blocking some long-range spells. Of course, its range of resistance is slightly greater than your current strength, because you are the one who controls it."

"Giving you something too good is useless to you. If you encounter a danger that I can't handle, use that custom-made wand from before to protect yourself first," Senior Sister Iseli tapped Aiden's forehead with her finger and gave him this advice.

"No problem." Aiden nodded vigorously.

"This is my first magical artifact. Among wizard apprentices, having even one magical artifact is already quite impressive," Aiden grinned, gripping the paraglider tightly in his hand.

……

At this moment, on a deserted island not far below the chariot.

The island is full of strange rocks, the black rocks are eroded by the sea wind and are pitted, and the waves keep crashing against the shore, splashing up white water.

The dark wizards Satu and Ed were hiding behind a giant rock, holding up their magical telescopes and keeping watch.

"Lord Satu, it'll be quick. The carriage is about to enter the black magic circle. It'll be a piece of cake," Ed said in a low voice, his face full of a fawning smile.

The dark wizard Satu is quite powerful; he has previously killed several first-ring white wizards. Ed said many nice things to him in order to curry favor with him.

"Hmm. Nothing unusual. My concealed black magic circle has never failed before." The black wizard Satu nodded, his black robes fluttering in the sea breeze.

"After it's done, I'll give you some pointers."

The black wizard Satu turned to look at Ed and said.

"Then thank you very much for your guidance, sir." Ed bowed quickly, overjoyed.

Both of them were in good spirits; after so much preparation, there had been no other unexpected factors.

……

"Senior sister, we're about to run into this black magic circle." Aiden looked through the amber cat's eyes at the huge black magic circle on the ground not far ahead and said with a trembling heart.

The magic circle emitted a faint black aura and slowly rotated on the ground, looking extremely eerie.

"It's alright, I have this, a one-time anti-magic array energy ball."

Senior Sister Iseli tapped her blue wand lightly, and a wisp of blue light emerged from the tip of the wand, creating a constantly swaying orange cloud in front of her.

The surface of the gas cloud crackled with electric arcs, and the surrounding air was churned and distorted.

"If that little bit of energy is added, his magic power will probably be completely drained."

Aiden's eyes widened, and his mouth opened slightly.

"Senior sister, this thing must be very expensive, right?" he guessed.

"Yes, it's very expensive. Most wizards have never even seen one before," Senior Sister Iseli said calmly, looking confident of victory.

"This dark wizard is going to be in big trouble because of the rich senior sister," Aiden thought to himself.

He also had his eyes opened.
