The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs
Chapter 19 Awakening Talent, Attribute-less Arrow
"No need, no need, I have enough magic stones for my cultivation." Aiden quickly waved his hand and pushed the magic stone bag back.
He then patted his bulging magic stone bag, which was heavy and contained more than 50 magic stones, which faintly glowed in the room.
"So many?" Winnie was stunned, her mouth slightly open, then she smiled from the bottom of her heart, her lips curving into a smile. "Then I'm relieved. Junior brother, you always manage to live better than others."
Back when she was in the circus troupe, Winnie knew that Aiden had many ways to make money, and his sense for making money was more acute than others.
Aiden touched his nose, realizing that much of it was just the information gap brought about by his time travel.
After all, he wasn't as young as he looked.
"These magic stones are all from the part-time jobs I did, and I was hoping to run into you someday." Aiden smiled sheepishly and continued, "Senior Sister Winnie, what have you been up to these days? I haven't heard from you at all. I was worried something had happened to you."
"I'm awakening my talent," Winnie said earnestly.
"Awakened talent? Does that mean that special talent?" Aiden's eyes widened.
Winnie's talent is far superior to that of ordinary wizard seeds.
"Yes. You know about this special talent? I didn't know about your memory meditation technique." Winnie nodded and gently pursed her lips.
"It's alright, it took two meditation stone fragments to reach the 11000th color block." Aiden sighed helplessly and shrugged.
Because of the meditation stone fragments, Aiden's training speed was still able to keep up with the main group.
If he relied solely on his talent to cultivate, he probably wouldn't even be able to earn seven thousand yuan by now.
"That's already pretty good, don't be discouraged." Winnie paused, tapping her fingers lightly on the table, and continued, "Junior brother, this special talent is related to the color blocks in the meditation technique. Do you know why we need to memorize the meditation technique?"
"I don't know. All I know is that it's a necessary requirement to become a formal wizard apprentice." Aiden shook his head, a puzzled look on his face.
"Each time you memorize a color block, you are awakening your special talent. The chances of awakening are highest when you memorize the 18000th and last block. However, this is relative; wizard seeds with awakened special talents are still very rare. This means a higher starting point than others," Winnie explained.
"I never expected to have a special talent that would allow me to travel to the wizarding world and help Mr. Ford get rid of the curse as soon as possible. I'm already very satisfied." Winnie didn't seem particularly happy, and her face didn't show much emotion.
"Winnie's personality hasn't changed; she's just too gentle. She might suffer for it in the future," Aiden thought to himself, feeling somewhat worried.
The special talent that others coveted seemed to be of little concern to her senior sister.
"Can I know what kind of talent it is?" Aiden was still a little curious and sat up straight.
"Let me show you," Winnie said, standing up and stretching her wrists.
Winnie raised her hand and waved a very simple wooden wand.
A small, milky-white arrow, about half the size of a palm, appeared at the tip of the wand.
The small arrow shimmered with a faint light, and seemed to be surrounded by a thin layer of mist.
"This is the most basic attack method for a formal wizard apprentice: a non-elemental arrow."
"It can generate a power of approximately 0.5 Hz, roughly equivalent to the full-force attack of a Grand Knight on the continent," Winnie continued to explain.
Aiden looked on with envy, after all, he didn't even have any powerful attack methods and had been envious for a long time.
"That's what makes wizards so powerful. Even a novice wizard can unleash the full force of a great knight who has been training for over 10 years, and the attack is ranged," Winnie said, gently shaking her wand.
Winnie muttered something quickly, and then the small, milky-white arrow shot out with a whoosh, striking a patch of soil in Aiden's little garden.
"Bang!"
A heavy impact sound was heard, and the patch of soil exploded, creating a small crater about half a meter wide. Soil flew everywhere, splashing onto the surrounding grass.
Immediately afterwards, another milky white substance appeared at the tip of Winnie's wand, and Winnie waved her wand again, her movements fluid.
Following the same pattern, it hit the same spot again, this time with greater force, blasting the soil deeper and sending dirt flying higher and farther, covering the surrounding grass with a thin layer of soil.
Aiden's eyes widened, his mouth slightly agape: "If this power hit a person, they would have died a thousand times over. You know, if an ordinary person takes a big knife or sword and slashes at the ground, it will only cause a shallow wound, not even a small crater like this."
But why is another arrow without any attribute appearing?
Senior Sister Winnie clearly stopped chanting.
"My special talent is that after casting a spell, there is a chance to recover magic and cast the spell again," Winnie explained, putting her wand away.
Aiden took several deep breaths, his chest heaving, before he said with a wry smile, "Senior Sister Winnie, your special talent is just too amazing."
This was the first time he had ever learned about someone else's special talent, but based on his experience playing online games in his previous life, this talent was quite extraordinary. Dual casting was practically like having a cheat code.
"Well, I didn't expect to awaken such a special talent. But there's a price to pay. For example, my body is trembling a bit right now, and my mental energy is slightly depleted." Winnie shook her head, swayed slightly, and grabbed the table next to her as she spoke.
"Perhaps my physical condition and energy levels are not up to the requirements for continuous spellcasting."
"I see." Aiden seemed to understand, but not quite.
"However, since Senior Sister Winnie has special talents, she will definitely receive some preferential treatment when she arrives in the wizarding world," Aiden said with a smile.
"Oh, right, junior brother, this is a gift I brought for you." Winnie smiled and gently pulled a gray sphere from her clothes.
"There's mist swirling inside this sphere, it looks very eerie, and the surrounding air seems to be affected by the mist, becoming somewhat hazy." Aiden leaned closer to take a look, his eyes fixed on the sphere.
"This is a gray crystal ball that can detect your various attributes. You can test it after you've finished memorizing the meditation technique. You're not a formal wizard apprentice yet, so you can't interact with this gray crystal ball. Consider it an encouragement to you." Winnie handed the ball to Aiden, patiently explaining.
"Then thank you very much, Senior Sister Winnie." Aiden smiled and accepted the ball with both hands, playing with it for a while, his fingers gently stroking the surface of the ball.
The gray crystal ball wasn't heavy, but it felt exceptionally cold, and the chill spread from my fingertips throughout my body.
Although he doesn't need them now, being able to come into contact with some of the tools that future wizards will use makes him increasingly excited.
"Junior brother, I'm about to board the wizard ship that's guiding me to leave the mainland. Come and see me off then." Winnie patted Aiden's hair.
Her action was just like when she came down from the circus to fix Aiden's hair, making Aiden feel like he had returned to the time when he first traveled back in time.
However, both of them are now working hard to become wizards, and a warm feeling wells up in their hearts.
"That's a must. I won't feel at ease until I see you board the wizard ship with my own eyes." Aiden nodded seriously, his eyes resolute.
Just then, the sound of footsteps rustling on the lawn came from outside the door, along with an unfamiliar male voice, which was arrogant.
"Alright, Winnie, I think you should leave now."
Aiden frowned and looked out, his face showing displeasure.
A tall, handsome young man, dressed in aristocratic attire adorned with silver patterns, stood outside the door.
He was stepping on several plants that Aiden had previously cultivated, which were flattened and sap was spilling all over the ground.
Seeing the young man's somewhat condescending expression, Aiden immediately became displeased.
