The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 61 They Came Knocking, the Spatial Rift Reappeared

"Now we just wait for the wizard ship to arrive." Aiden looked up at the clear sky, which was originally bright but was now somewhat gloomy, like a huge gray curtain slowly falling.

He said with some disappointment, "The wizard ship still hasn't arrived; it seems to have been delayed again."

Aiden shook his head: "I don't know what they're up to. But it's good to stay a little longer, at least I have a lot of things to do."

"More importantly, it really tormented Mr. Ironbeard."

As Aiden thought of this, he couldn't help but grin, his laughter echoing through the garden.

These days, Mr. Ironbeard has been poisoned by Aiden nearly 10 times.

After each poisoning, Mr. Ironbeard's face would turn blue, his body would sway, and his condition would get worse and worse.

More importantly, he had no idea he had been poisoned.

This was Aiden's favorite thing; he couldn't help but chuckle whenever he saw Mr. Ironbeard's disheveled appearance.

"I've used up a quarter of Vera's thorny kiss already, and it's really effective," Aiden continued.

He realized he needed to cultivate a good relationship with Vera. After all, he wasn't afraid of the poisoner's methods, but his enemies were. He could turn Vera from an enemy into a friend, exchanging his resources for her poisons. It would be a win-win situation.

"Then we can only continue to wait patiently." Aiden sighed, spread his hands, shook his head helplessly, and went back to work in the experimental area.

……

Half a month passed in a flash.

In the middle of the night, the once silent Forbidden Forest Basin suddenly saw the sky split open again.

It was as if a giant blade had cleaved the sky, and a huge crack appeared out of nowhere.

The wizard apprentices in the inner living quarters all sensed something was amiss. They rushed out of their rooms, their steps hurried, all gazing at the crack in the sky, filled with longing.

Aiden also finished his training. He put away his wand, which emitted a faint light in his hand before disappearing.

He went into his garden.

Aiden gazed at the sky, his mouth agape, and muttered to himself, "Even seeing this spatial rift for the second time still leaves me utterly awestruck. The wizard ship will be here soon. I need to continue my cultivation."

As he looked at the spatial passage that appeared, Aiden felt his heart suddenly race, pounding in his chest as if it were about to burst out of his chest.

He felt a tightness in his bladder, like the tension before an exam, and his whole body instantly became tense.

Aiden returned to the cabin.

Outside Aiden's garden stood the two-star scout from the Ash Brigade, a burly man in black—Thram.

He was tall and stood there like an iron tower, his black clothes fluttering in the wind.

The clues left by Henry pointed directly to the residence of the wizard apprentice named Aiden.

As scouts of the Ash Brigade, they all have a trail of tracks on each other.

When Seram arrived at the Forbidden Forest Basin, he also saw these tracking marks on the streets. The marks emitted a faint glow and appeared and disappeared in the dim street.

He followed the markings and found Aiden's cabin, which was the location the last markings indicated.

“But this is clearly a newly recruited formal wizard apprentice, and judging from the information, his initial mental strength is not high. He is completely no match for Henry.” Seram frowned and said with some doubt, “But no matter what, Henry’s disappearance is inseparable from him.”

Thurram dismissed the idea that "Ayden was the murderer who killed Henry."

"Never mind, let's go in and ask."

Seram thought for a moment, then looked up at the sky and saw the spatial passage that preceded the arrival of the wizard ship. It seemed as if countless energies were surging within that passage.

He looked on with longing and said, "It's a pity I couldn't go to the wizarding world back then."

Seram shook his head, a resolute look returning to his face: "But sooner or later, I will still go to the Wizarding World, through the Ash Brigade. I've already obtained the meditation technique; how far away can the Wizarding World be?"

Boom boom boom!

A knock came from outside the garden, interrupting Aiden's cultivation.

He was taken aback, his body trembled, and he was somewhat bewildered: "So late, who would come looking for me?"

He got up and looked out the window, where he saw a large man in black standing outside the garden, calmly looking at him.

The burly man stood tall and straight, as steady as a mountain in the fierce wind.

Aiden's heart skipped a beat, and a look of panic flashed across his face, but he quickly regained his composure, thinking, "This person seems very calm. If someone is very calm, either they have a powerful background or they have great strength, and besides, I've never seen this person before."

"But this person might not necessarily be an enemy, after all, he didn't directly break into my garden or approach my cabin," Aiden muttered to himself, pursing his lips.

Aiden took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

He swept across the garden and walked toward the burly man in black outside the gate.

"This guy is much stronger than me." In just a few seconds, Aiden's forehead broke out in a few beads of sweat as he quickly made the judgment.

"Damn it, could it be one of those outsiders again?" Aiden gritted his teeth, thinking to himself.

Despite his skepticism, Aiden forced a smile and said, "Hello, I'm Aiden. What can I do for you?"

Among wizards, strangers do not directly invite each other to their homes.

"Hello," said the burly man in black, his voice deep and powerful. "My name is Seram. I'd like to ask you if you know anyone named Henry."

Seram stared intently at Aiden, asking him question by word.

It can quickly detect even the slightest unusual change in Aiden's expression.

"What did you say? I didn't hear you clearly," Aiden replied, frowning and tilting his head.

His expression was as if he had just finished his training and was still in a daze.

"I say, do you know this Henry?" Seram asked, frowning and his facial muscles twitching.

"I don't know, who are you?" Aiden said, hands on his hips, somewhat annoyed. "Did you see the spatial portal in the sky? I was planning to go to the Wizarding World, so don't bother me while I'm cultivating."

Aiden's expression was well concealed; he remained completely calm and composed, appearing utterly uncooperative.

This further dispelled Seram's doubts!

"The kid's expression didn't change much, and his breathing was very steady. It seems that Henry has nothing to do with him," Seram thought, stroking his chin.

"Alright, that's all for now. I need to investigate further," Seram said, then turned and walked away with heavy footsteps.

Aiden watched his departing figure and unconsciously clenched his fists.

"Damn it, this guy is here to see Henry, which means he's the one looking for Haske's killer. They're in cahoots."

"Damn it, could this guy be a mid-level wizard apprentice? Judging from his calm demeanor, he definitely is." Aiden frowned, veins bulging on his forehead, and he kept muttering to himself.

"No, this guy will eventually find out about me. No matter how good my acting is, I'll easily be exposed." Aiden looked at the soil in a corner of the garden where Henry was buried, and the weeds around that spot were more tangled than elsewhere.

"I need to make some preparations." With that, Aiden turned around abruptly and climbed out of the cabin.

"I would definitely be no match for him if I relied solely on wizarding methods. Fortunately, I have already advanced to become a Wind Whisperer, and my strength is probably on par with his."

……

They quickly found the house of the archer, Rock.

"Brother Rock, are you in there?" Aiden stood outside Rock's house and asked loudly, his voice sounding particularly loud in the quiet night.
